We have been so busy chatting I've started a new thread. Welcome all 10+ ladies. Hope we all have some luck on this thread.

Thanks for the welcome Trixie! This is another aspect I know nothing about, so all I can say is I'm hoping the results are what you wanted them to be, and that the timing of when they were taken doesn't make a difference.

lucieloos · 11/12/2015 13:57

That's great you have the results trixie. Hopefully your clinic can shed some more light when you go in for your appt.

loopylou1984 · 12/12/2015 22:27

Just place marking as fell off the thread. Will catch up soon! Sorry for being so rubbish recently. Xx

lucieloos · 14/12/2015 15:35

Good luck with your appt tomorrow Sammy.

loopylou1984 · 14/12/2015 21:36

Thank you Lucie. I'm scared. I'm not sure what of, but I am.

Trixie - great news that your biopsy results are ok in theory, look forward to your update on Thursday. Xx

lucieloos · 14/12/2015 21:47

I know what you mean Sammy. I'm always nervous of the most straight forward of appts even though I've been through it all before. You will be ok though. It will be good to talk about things and hopefully come up with a plan.

I've started bcp now ready for my next cycle. I have to start buserelin around New Years and then I'm good to go.

OP posts:
MPP81 · 14/12/2015 23:43

Good luck tomorrow Sammy! As Lucie said, hopefully you'll get a plan in place.

I bet it feels weird being on bcp when ttc Lucie. Hoping all is well with you.

Tomorrow morning, we hand in DP's sample for our private SA, ready for consultation on Thursday. Hoping it's at the very least the same as the first one which was less than a month ago, though obviously crossing fingers for an improvement. Hmm

lucieloos · 15/12/2015 07:19

Ahh good luck to you too MPP crossing my fingers for a good sample. Yes it is a little strange being on bcp, it's only for a couple of weeks though so not too bad.

OP posts:
star1980 · 15/12/2015 08:24

Good luck for today Sammy, and trixie and mpp for Thursday. Lots of appointments this week... Hope there's good news all round.
Trixie, is your appt the nhs one or private? Hope they shed some light on the biopsy results and you can make a plan.

Lucie, when are you off to Czech? How long will you have to stay?

Nothing to report over here. 7dpo but not expecting this cycle to be any different to the previous 13 or so. Pregnancy announcement at a Christmas do last night - feel genuinely happy for her and not too bitter actually which is saying something. Maybe it's Christmas cheer?!

MPP81 · 15/12/2015 10:00

Thanks Star! Sorry for the baby bomb, though it's positive that you don't feel too bitter? You're definitely a better person than me! That's how I feel re: why would this month be any different, but I keep trying to tell myself it's always worth hoping. Fingers crossed for you.

SA delivered, though only just within the time limit, AND I bloody lost some! Had the pot tilted at the wrong angle and missed the, ummmm, initial eruption. Great. Lady at the desk said it looked ok but any problems and they'll let us know. Confused

lucieloos · 15/12/2015 10:11

Hi Star, I should be off to Czech for egg collection mid Jan. We will only stay for 1 or 2 nights.

MPP, your dh can go to the clinic and do the sample there. My DH did that on the first sample and they tested it straight away and rang him before he even got to work with the results. Second time he did it at home and we got it there within the time limit but it was then left on reception desk for ages and tested much later than the World Health Organisation guidelines.

OP posts:
MPP81 · 15/12/2015 10:25

They mentioned that Lucie, but DP is worried about being able to 'perform' somewhere that feels 'sciency' though I've explained he'll likely have to at some point. Just got his results! I'm amazed at the speed, but it's not the best news. 1.4 million, though they did manage to test motility this time, which came back at 57.1%. He said there were other figures but he didn't have a pen. Outcome is, they would suggest ICSI, but will discuss further with us on Thursday.

Is it expensive to stay in Czech? Do they help you find accommodation etc? Where do you fly from? The whole thing intrigues me!

lucieloos · 15/12/2015 11:03

Hey MPP, I know they are brilliant aren't they! Motility is good but definitely not enough there for natural purposes I don't think :-/

Czech is great, I would recommend it if you want to make the most of your money. The clinic I go to is called Reprofit and is in a town called Brno. They have a website so you can look up prices and details. What most of us do with hotels is book via booking.com. There are lots on there with free cancellation up until the day before so if you did need to change anything it wouldn't be a problem. The one I've stayed in the last couple of times is a few doors down from the clinic. It's quite dated looking and cheap and cheerful but only £19 a night and is clean and I just like it for some reason! There are plenty of other upmarket hotels though I would say the price range is anything from £15-£70 a night. The majority are prob around £25-£30 though. If you did want to look into it I could give you some recommendations.

We fly from stansted which is a bit of a pain but I'm used to it now. It's a 3 hour drive from Cardiff. Flights are very cheap at the moment though with a return being about £30. We have also flown from Bristol to Prague but you have to get the bus from Prague to Brno then which takes about 2 hours. I found that I preferred doing the travelling in the uk and then can just go straight to hotel and relax when I get to Czech.

Thanks mpp, I'm no better than anyone, I think I'm resigned to the fact it isn't going to happen so my emotions are a bit deadened. It comes out in weird ways though like ruining a brunch w my sisters at the weekend by incessantly moaning about everything. Great company! They don't know I'm ttc btw.

I read on another thread that the definition of madness is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different outcome. Hmm.

So sorry to hear the sa results weren't good mpp but at least you'll start doing something different now.

Oh yes, I remember you're just doing embryo freezing this time Lucie. Will you have your nhs ivf next then? Feb? And then back to Czech for a sibling next year? (because it WILL work)

lucieloos · 15/12/2015 14:19

Star, yes will do the freezing in Jan and then start NHS in either Feb or March. It would be amazing if it did work and then back for a sibling next year. If I'm honest though I don't hold out much hope for the NHS but I am trying to be more positive.

Hi ladies, AF arrived here on Sunday so onto cycle 25 - seems a bit pointless counting now with my NK diagnosis. Was a day late though and must admit I did still get my hopes up a tiny bit. Visited my niece at the weekend, was so lovely to have cuddles with her.

Star, my appointment on Thursday is at my private clinic to discuss my results. I know they will try to encourage us to do a FET with immune treatment. It would be the easy option and is tempting but we have our consultation at Kings on the 22nd Jan and hopefully we'll find out how long the waiting list is for IVF there.

Great that you're getting started on your next cycle Lucie. I really hope the NHS waiting list here is nice and short and we can cycle together. Definitely stay positive!

MPP, my DH said it took him over half an hour when he did his first SA. When he had to do the sample for our IVF though he said it was much easier.

loopylou1984 · 15/12/2015 18:43

Hey all, will catch up shortly, but just wanted to update on my appointment.

The short version is that we are going to do another FET but partly medicated to try and increase my lining further. I will take the estrogen (at a higher dose) but not suppress my natural cycle so I'll have natural estrogen and build up too.

He did point out pregnancies are achieved at much less than 6.5mm (Ectopics there's no endometrium at all), and that there isn't much research to say how to increase it. However he took my concerns seriously, which I was grateful for. Xx

lucieloos · 15/12/2015 19:44

That's great news Sammy and good that they have come up with something different for you to try. Hopefully the extra estrogen will do the trick and build up a nice lining! When are you hoping to do the transfer?

OP posts:
loopylou1984 · 15/12/2015 20:55

Well I'd like to start after next af (due 28th dec) so baseline around the 2nd, but consultant wasn't sure they'd be able to fit us in so it could be more likely the end of January. Xx

lucieloos · 15/12/2015 21:02

That's great news so not long to wait either way!

OP posts:
Trixietwenty16 · 15/12/2015 21:44

All sounds good Sammy. Hopefully they can fit you in at the beginning of Jan. Even if it's the end of Jan though it's not far away.

MPP81 · 16/12/2015 00:39

Evening all!

Thanks for the info Lucie. It all seems a lot cheaper than I thought. Although we're waiting for further discussions on Thursday, we are tentatively looking into Czech now, so any recommendations would be great! I obviously haven't had much insight to the NHS yet, but I did contact them today to see what they said about waiting lists and they said it was just over a year now. From obsessive research I think i can see why you feel you have less hope there compared to abroad, but another go is another go!

Star, I've read that about the definition of madness too, but the one I tend to cling to is a ridiculous work catchphrase - if you always do what you always did, then you'll always get what you always got. I try and change at least one thing a cycle in the vain hope that that one thing will be what makes a difference deluded but it seems more likely that I wasn't giving anything a proper try, if that makes sense! Of course, now it seems likely that anything we tried wasn't going to have a whole lot of effect anyway.

Sorry for af, Trixie. The worst months are when she's bloody late. Flowers I'll pass on the info about your DP to mine. Maybe he'll be encouraged to realise he's not alone.

Good news about your appointment today Sammy! Fingers crossed they'll manage to fit you in. Smile

lucieloos · 16/12/2015 10:07

No problem MPP, let me know if there's anything specific you want to know. The 2 best luxury hotels in Brno are Barcelo Brno Palace and Hotel Grandeeza but they are quite pricey by Czech standards but a nice treat. The one I'm staying in is Penzion Locanda which is basic but fine for a few nights. It's right by the clinic and about a 10 min tram ride to the town. Another one close to the clinic is Penzion Integrity which is a bit more modern. There are lots of nice apartments around the town if you prefer that. Other popular hotels in the town are The Grand or VW Hotel.

star1980 · 18/12/2015 07:04

Hi everyone,
How were the appointments this week?
Trixie, did they advise FET with immune treatment as you thought? Are you going to do it? I guess it wouldn't be possible to squeeze that in before your nhs appt in Jan and cancel that one if it works?
I'm sorry for af too. My temp has plummeted this morning and I'm devastated-total contrast to last month but I think as much as I tell myself it's just going to be the same, I did get my hopes up.
Mpp, how was your appt? Will you get going on treatment as soon as you can in the new year?

loopylou1984 · 18/12/2015 07:21

Yes Trixie, I too was wondering how you got on?

Star, so sorry for the temp drop. Be kind to yourself. Xx
