Thanks Pikz :)

I'm not sure about the Facebook group. Part of the reason I love Mumsnet is the anonymity. I'll think about it.

My tummy muscles feel really bruised after the trigger, I don't remember this from last time.

I have to admit to poas this morning, it's nice to know those internet cheapie a actually do pick up hcg! Lol. Xx

Panda1985 · 15/11/2015 14:10

Set up a thread as I'm new on here and then I spotted this one and it seemed to fit! Just got my period so that's month 10 of TTC #1. Had a few tears but more than anything I'm just so tired from this emotional rollercoaster.
I've had an internal ultrasound and looked good apart from slightly polycystic ovaries but I appear to ovulate and have a 29 day cycle and the husbands SA was good.
It would just be nice to chat to others who understand what this feels like because it's a pretty lonely journey, even with a very supportive husband.
Wishing everyone all the luck in the world!

loopylou1984 · 15/11/2015 15:13

Welcome Panda.
Everyone here understands exactly how you feel. It's tough. And exhausting.

What's your next step? Xx

Panda1985 · 15/11/2015 16:07

Hey Sammylou!
Got some blood tests done to check hormones etc last week so just waiting for results. Didn't include AMH tho so wondering if I need that done too. Apart from that I think it's trying for another couple of months and then an HSG to check my tubes.
How long have you been trying? xx

lucieloos · 15/11/2015 17:04

Hi there Panda, it may be worth getting amh done to check your ovarian reserve. How old are you?

OP posts:
Panda1985 · 15/11/2015 17:29

Hi Lucie, I'm 30 but will be 31 in Jan. Yeah I'm beginning to think I should, although the results of that one really scare me! Where are you in the journey?

lucieloos · 15/11/2015 17:40

You should be ok at that age panda. I don't think you amh will be too low. I've had a few ivfs privately and am banking embryos for transfer later on. We have our appt to get started on NHS in a couple of weeks.

OP posts:
Panda1985 · 15/11/2015 18:19

That's good news about the NHS appointment. I haven't got that far in my research yet, how long do you have to wait for an appointment usually?
I hope you're right about the AMH test :) I think I will look into having it, I know really 10 months isn't that long and ppl keep telling me anything under a year is normal but i just have this feeling and I don't want to waste time.

lucieloos · 15/11/2015 18:35

I had the feeling too and did all my tests after 6 months but I was 35 then. I think the wait on the NHS depends on which area you are in. For me it's been 10 months to the initial appt but I know others who live in different parts of the country get seen a lot quicker.

OP posts:
loopylou1984 · 15/11/2015 21:29

Hey panda, well in order to get any kind of assisted conception you need your AMH test done, so may as well!
When you get to 12 months ttc you may find you can get it on the nhs.

We've been ttc a little over 2 years now . Have had ivf privately and have 5 blastocysts in the freezer but sadly never got to put one back in as I developed ohss. We have since tried two frozen cycles, 1st was abandoned following a bad reaction to the drugs, then a natural cycle didn't work out as I never ovulated. However fx we are looking at transfer this Thursday! Xx

Panda1985 · 15/11/2015 22:30

Sammy yeah they said that when I had the ultrasound, so definitely sounds worth it. How long did you wait before you went for private IVF? Obviously we'd all rather do this naturally but at the same time I don't want to let time pass unnecessarily.
Really exciting about next Thursday, sending you lots of luck!!

Lucie God just the thought of another 10 months like this makes me feel sick. So is that why you went privately initially?

loopylou1984 · 15/11/2015 22:36

It was about 18 months before we paid privately. We would have waited due to cost, but thankfully my amazing parents are helping us out. Xx

Panda1985 · 15/11/2015 22:43

Yeah my parents have mentioned they'd be willing to help us out. They know how desperate I am to be a mum and they want another grandchild :) I think if nothing has happened by middle of next year we'll be heading down that route. I really hope everything goes perfectly for you from Thursday onwards x

lucieloos · 15/11/2015 23:17

Yes panda I knew in my area that the wait for NHS was long and at 35 I couldn't afford to wait so we went private. We are having treatment abroad though as its so much cheaper than the uk. I wouldn't panic just yet. Hopefully things will work out for you soon.

OP posts:
Panda1985 · 16/11/2015 09:41

Yes I am obviously hoping it doesn't come to that but I guess it's a good idea to know what the situation in my area is. Think I'll take a look and into it.

lollyb20 · 16/11/2015 12:50

Hi ladies, AF arrived for me on Friday evening so onto cycle 24. Feeling surprisingly upbeat about things though, I think going along to the fertility show really helped.

Do you know what time you're booked in for transfer on Thursday Sammy?

Hi Panda, I have pco too. I had IVF privately in the summer and was on a low dose of meds to prevent over stimulation. Currently waiting for our NHS cycle.

Panda1985 · 16/11/2015 16:07

Hey Trixie sorry AF got you :( but great to hear you're upbeat. I always find the start of my cycle feels full of possibilities.
Do you know when your NHS cycle will be?
I was trying to book an AMH blood test but the lady told me there was no point if I had pcos because my results would be artificially high. She's told me to go in for a free 30 min chat instead. So we'll see what she has to say!

Panda1985 · 16/11/2015 16:08

P.s. Big congrats Lolly! I hope those lines get darker Smile

lucieloos · 16/11/2015 16:21

Panda, that is true about the amh and pcos yours will be very high and so probably won't tell you that much.

Trixie, sorry about af she got me today too. Did you find out anything interesting at the fertility show?

Hi there lolly, congrats on your bfp. I can't see the pic but hope it's a good line.

OP posts:
Panda1985 · 16/11/2015 17:00

Well I'm glad the lady was kind enough not to let us waste our money. I presume though if we did want IVF at any point then we'd need the test even if it's nonsense?

loopylou1984 · 16/11/2015 18:09

Congratulations Lolly!

Trixie - our appointment is 1pm, I'm so scared but so excited! Xx

lucieloos · 16/11/2015 18:37

Yes you would probably need it for treatment panda but not much point having it done before then.

Good luck for Thursday Sammy!

OP posts:
Itsme247 · 17/11/2015 09:28

Good luck Sammy!

I am so impatient but it's really annoying, I had my hsg two weeks ago, obviously find out the results there and then but had no word from our NHS consultant.

Grr!! Called up the secretary and they have a 'dictation' on file but no-ones typed it up yet to send out... Just type the damn thing!!!!!!

I know two weeks isn't a long time but to me it feels like an age.
