My DP and I are hoping to start TTC early next year but wondered what I could do to prepare my body for conception?

I am currently on the pill but will be stopping in January.

Conception vitamins, quitting smoking, cutting down on drinking and a healthy diet all help! Apparently there are some foods which are good for conception or to eat at certain times of the month so good to look that up.

I'm ttc1 when I come off the pill in dec. I'm already taking folic acid and vit C, I've also given up caffein and I'm trying to eat right (futile ??) as soon as I come off the pill I'm going to switch to preconception vits.

Like Bex said there are also good and bad foods. It a good idea to look them up and try to lose a little weight if you're carrying a few extra lb. also if you don't already it's a good idea to start gentle exercise every day.

Good luck ??

They say to start taking preconception vitamins three months before TTC. I'm taking them now and plan to TTC as soon as possible after Christmas (DH demands) . I also came off the pill back in April (other reasons) and my cycle still isn't back to normal and it can take some women months to ovulate again. It may be worth coming off the pill now and using condoms in the mean time. There's another thread going on for TTC #1 coming of the pill in December, where a few of us are getting carried away and being over excited, I most definitely being one of them Grin
