I am debating to POAS. I am TTC #2 and with DD I couldn't eat meat without wanting to be sick. Last night I couldn't eat my chicken with dinner because my stomach wouldn't allow it. Before I went to bed I was sick. As well as that I have had really tender boobs for well over a week and various other symptoms to spot.

DH is getting a test today. Do I PO it? (I actually saved this morning's pee if a pot in the fridge so I would dip, not pee).

Has anyone else ever had a positive test 2 days before AF is due????

Get an early detection test (i.e. First Response) and you might. I have heard of women getting positives even earlier, but it varies from woman to woman (I also know of women who didn't get a positive until their period was days and days late).

Personally I wouldn't test early, because I find it so soul destroying when it's negative, so I prefer to wait it out for AF these days.

I hope if you do test it's positive though!

In an attempt to get fit before I go home to Miami I am going to try to give up booze for October.

10 days post ovulation you can potentially get a positive pregnancy result- depending on the length of you cycle, that can be a few days before your period. However, the earlier you test, the longer you have to worry about it potentially being a chemical pregnancy. First Response Early Response are the most sensitive so give the earliest potential result.

ShowOfHands · 02/10/2015 10:30

First Response are sensitive but not THE most sensitive, there are plenty of comparable (and often cheaper tests). However, they're certainly more sensitive than something like Clearblue Digital for example.

I always test positive at 8 or 9 days post ovulation which is approximately 5 days before my period. By 2 days before my period, I would test very strongly positive.

There's a good chance that if you are pregnant then it would show up 2 days before your period. However, the two main risks with early testing when pregnant are either that you experience a chemical pregnancy you otherwise wouldn't know about or you get a false negative.

It's completely up to you. Best of luck.

Yes I've had positives 10 days after dtd. So that would be around day 24 both times. (In my defence for testing early, I was going on a night out both times, remembered we'd dtd and thought Id check just incase... Not realising at the time it was fairly early to check!)

oops-- no idea how that first line came with my post! Not drinking at all as I am upduffed!

Show which brands are more senitive that First Response out of curiosity?

I got a positive on clear blue digital 3 days before period due.

OP here! BFP this morning on a clear blue. The down line was surprisingly strong, although I would still say faint ish, but there is no mistaking it Grin

Yay congrats, I got bfp on day 26 after not being able to drink tea as it made me puke and a week of tender boobs. Now 14 wks.

I used superdrug own brand tests and got positives with them before my period was due.
