Hi all, this is my first post after being a long time lurker! It's a bit of a long story but please bear with me. I lost a baby in my early 20's at 10 weeks...fast forward to May this year (in my early 30s now) and my husband and I decided to start ttc. I got pregnant the first month which unfortunately ended in miscarriage at 6 weeks. I had two normal periods in July and August. We were...Shall we say "active" in August and come the middle of this month I started to feel the same as I did in June. As I have a slightly irregular cycle (between 25 and 31 days usually) I took an early response test on day 26. This was negative. The next day I started spotting and had an unusual period. Warning for tmi...it started with 2 days of brown/orange spotting with cramps then progressed to medium flow with small clots. This lasted for a day or so then back to spotting which is much shorter than my usual 5 days of heavy bleeding but I thought it was just an odd period given the cramps etc and left it at that.

5 days after I'd stopped spotting we got back to it but for the first time ever it felt uncomfortable. I started spotting after sex which has also never happened before. This has continued on and off for the last 4/5 days so (after lots of Dr Googles advice) I took a test on Sunday. Faint but definitely there bfp. Monday I did the same...still faint but bfp.

I have tried to call my doctors for some advice but no answer. We are currently 200 miles from home visiting my family and I am a little undecided if I should be cautiously optimistic or simply take it as a chemical pregnancy and wait it out as I'd already given up on this month.

I planned to do tests every day to see if it's just leftover hcg but the test I did this morning was faulty and didn't even get a control line!

Not really sure if what I'm asking for is advice or for comments or for hand holding but my poor dh needs a rest and I can't tell friends or my mother lol

All you can do is wait for a bit really. What cycle day are you now? Do you know when you ovulated? I would wait a week and test again, if its still positive then I'd be optimistic and perhaps make a doctor appointment to get your hcg levels checked. Good luck x

There is never nay harm in seeing your GP, maybe see how the next couple of days go, and then give them a call. If nothing else, it makes sure that they have all the info about how you are getting on, and should be able to do your bloods to see if there is an answer there.

I'm so sorry for your loss, it is a really confusing and emotional time. Are you sure you don't have anyone you can confide in? If not, then come on here for lots of virtual hugs and Cake

Hey, thanks for the replies. Last mpd of 17/08 so cd 41(?). I do have friends to speak to but given the loss a few months ago I don't want to tell anyone anything until I know...they'd only get their hopes up as they haven't really dealt with this before. I will take your advice and do another test in a few days and see...when I get back home I will try to get to the doctors...if they answer their phone that is lol
