Am feeling a bit low today...did a test yesterday and was negative..don't feel like I'm pregnant at all.

Have read some of the other topics and I know there's loads of people in the same boat and that I was incredibly lucky the first time round...but can't get why? out of my head.

Tried to go through the 'what's changed'...clearly am somewhat more tired and busy now, had to have a c-section with dd (20 months...not sure what else.

Have been to GP...who says have not been trying long (which I know) but feels like ages because we were so lucky the first time round...

Anybody know whether c-section can have altered things?
Anybody know how I can be sure I'm ovulating?

I feel for you. I took around 7 years to concive (medical issues) with my first. wasn't actually trying but never used contraception if we fell pg bonus and if we didn't then down the track when we were ready to start a family we would seek help. we bought our first home and within a month of moving in i conceived. now we are trying again and having no luck. saw my GP and was lucky he took me seroiusly even though we had been trying for only a few months and sent us to see a Gyno. now i know i ovulated last month (ultrasound on day 19) but now i have to have a laperoscopy to see if my tubes are blocked or have any holes. problem is there is a 5 month waiting to have this done. my son is 18mths old and we were hoping not to have too much of an age differance. hope something happens before then. its just so frustrating especially when everyone around you seems to get pg so quickly. has anyone done a detox diet and fallen pg. that help my sister conceive. my cycle is anywhere from a 25 to 28 day my gyno told me that if it is a 25 day cycle then my ovulation day would be day 11 and has also suggested that we have sex on day 10,12& 14 and not to have sex everyday. has anyone else had similar advice.

anyone worrying about age gap between kids should read the thread "whats the best age gap" (sorry cant do link). We have been trying for 20 months for #2 and sometimes I feel really down. But that thread is really inspiring and sets out lots of positives about longer gaps.

tania2 - am I being thick? don't understand why having sex after ovulation would help? anyone?

Azure · 27/05/2004 08:27

Possibly because Tania2's cycle time varies from 25 to 28 days, ovulation could be from day 11 to 14, hence the recommendation for sex on day 14.

Can't find that thread kittyb ...where abouts it it? I need some inspiration!

Tania2 · 27/05/2004 10:48

Thanks Azure your right the gyno explained to me that not everyone's ovulation is the same day and some people can ovulate twice in one month and some may only ovulate only a few times a year. But I am no expert at this as I haven't had to worry about it till now. Just trusting what the gyno is telling me. but then again he is a man and maybe just helping my hubby out by getting more sex!! ha ha. kittyb- iam new to this chat thing what is this about thread can you tell me how to get into it?? really appreciate it thanks

katierocket · 27/05/2004 13:13

that's interesting - I never knew that some people could ovulate twice!
Anyone any thoughts on whether persona is worth getting to predict ovulation?

kittyb · 27/05/2004 13:23

For that thread, go into "parenting" and its called "what is a good gap between first and second baby"

katierocket · 27/05/2004 13:56

bump
persona? or is there something better?

jane313 · 27/05/2004 18:45

Has anyone ever used that ovuliser thing? it is supposed to tell you when you're ovulating by testing your saliva? I saw an article on it ages ago but don't know if it still exists or if its any good. it was about £30 an d you could use it for ever (or until it broke or the batteries ran out)

jane313 · 27/05/2004 18:48

This is it. I'm not trying myself again yet but I was just curious.
