TTC #1 coming off the pill in December - anyone else in the same boat?!

shelbTa · 28/09/2015 08:22

Hi,

I am going to be coming off the pill after ten years plus on it after my pack finishes in December. Excited but also terrified about what my body is going to do once I'm without all the hormones!

Anyone else doing the same roughly the same time?

Shelb x

(Hope this goes through struggling to post)

How long have you been in your job shelb I'm not overly happy in my job at the moment but putting off looking for something new as TTC is more important right now and starting a new job would mean having to delay TTC until I was eligible for maternity so just sticking it out until I can go off on maternity leave and then I'll weigh up my options for returning to work when the time comes! I had the wedding to distract from my job dissatisfaction and now that's over I've replaced it with TTC! I find as long as I've got other things to focus on it doesn't bother me too much!

runner this is very exciting!!! Keeping fx for you!! Am I right in remembering if you do get a BFP it'll be 1st month?

shelbTa · 16/11/2015 09:40

Hi happy - A year in March 2016, so not long at all, and they are quite backward in terms of maternity within their culture. What do you do?

Hi shelb I work in the optical industry, I don't dislike my job as such it's just boring and doesn't challenge me anymore. I've done it for too long! I don't get a maternity package just statutory so I won't be tied to staying here after finishing maternity leave. I plan to try something new after that, just not sure what!

Runner05 · 16/11/2015 10:23

Happy yep, if it is BFP this month then it would be upduffed in the first month. I know how unlikely that is which is why I don't really trust that I did see something on the test. Will have to wait and see...

I know what you ladies mean about not being challenged. I've been in PM support for about 10 years and I'm so bored of it.

shelbTa · 16/11/2015 10:41

Runner I really hope it's a BFP for you.

I'm having a major wobble - is this normal?? I think I'm guna stay off the pill, but not do the pissy sticks until after xmas, try but not try too hard - that way if it's meant to be its meant to be, but if not I get a few months grace.

Wow runner that will be brilliant if you are!! I'm in my 1st month too but literally feel no different whatsoever I can't even think I'm imagining symptoms as there is literally nothing!!

shelb totally normal I think! Certainly the same way I've been feeling and I'm taking the same approach as you. Trying not to get too involved until after Xmas. Just stopping the pill and carrying on like normal and seeing what happens. Mainley for my DHs sanity as he's been a bit hot/cold with it all but it's helping me get my head round it too! I'm feeling more positive and excited as times going on though! You'll be fine, just a little wobble that's all.

Runner05 · 16/11/2015 11:08

Shelb I think it's totally normal. I was nervous as hell until we dtd within the fertile window for the first time... Then I just thought, in for a penny in for a pound. The worse bit was during withdraw bleed when I kept questioning whether it was a good idea, if it was what I really wanted and whether I was ready... Once that was over I started getting more excited and like I said, after the first dtd it was much easier.

Happy a lot of people have no symptoms before getting BFP and mine could easily be imagined. Don't worry about it too much.

Waiting to take another test is painful. I know there's no point doing another one today. I need to wait until tomorrow but I think I'll do tomorrow's with FMU while OH is asleep.

Runner05 · 16/11/2015 11:21

I'm a very, very silly girl. I decided to have a look at the test I did this morning again... The almost invisible line is now slightly less invisible. I know this is probably evap but it's different to the others that got darker as they dried. With the others they got very dark and smudgy but this one almost looks like it's dried so it's no longer as reflective as it was and so easier to see... I even managed to get a photo (although it's only visible if I play around with the contrast) trying not to get too excited but I might keep this one to compare with tomorrow's. My only problem is I'm now out of the 10mlu tests. Do I run into town quickly and get some more?

shelbTa · 16/11/2015 12:41

Picture runner - if you feel happy to upload?

Here you go, even on this it's barely visible Confused

I can see it runner!!!

OP posts:
shelbTa · 16/11/2015 12:59

But agree, it is very very feint. X

OP posts:
happybus28 · 16/11/2015 13:02

I see it too, it's very faint but it's there!! Hopefully be more visible tomorrow!

StarkyTheDirewolf · 16/11/2015 13:03

I see a line too runner you must immediately go out and buy some more tests and then we shall all wait with baited breath until tomorrow morning! Ooh it's exciting!

I cajoled Dh into having one sort of unprotected 'go' but I think I'm being very very silly to even think it could end in a bfp, it won't, so I'm pretending it didn't happen!

Runner05 · 16/11/2015 13:07

Eeee Stark of course, it didn't happen and none of us are excited for you never thought I be excited about someone else having sex!!

Here's the photo taken at about 5 minutes. I've had to bump the contrast and saturation but I can just about see the faintest of invisible lines which is what I saw in person. Not telling OH until I have a "Real" line.

shelbTa · 16/11/2015 13:14

Can def see it on the first one. This is bloody exciting!! What about a first response one, or am I getting carried away here?!

I'm getting an AF headache.

Oh and good work stark! X

Runner05 · 16/11/2015 13:22

I've got a first response but they're 15mlu as apprised to super drug own which is 10mlu (super sensitive) I'll try super drug first thing in the morning and if that's positive I'll back it up with first response.

I am convincing myself that this must be wrong. I'll probably test tomorrow and get BFN and I don't want to be disappointed but I do feel more sure of myself now I've been able to get something visible on a photo of the test right after it was taken. It's less likely to be evap.

Hope the headache sods off Shelb

StarkyTheDirewolf · 16/11/2015 13:22

I do still see it there, we mustn't get our hopes up too much yet though! I know what you mean though, I'm sat here like "c'mon runners womb! Be cosy and inviting! Woooo! " air punch! Grin all my fingers crossed for you!

shelbTa · 16/11/2015 13:28

Haha starky, it really is

I know runner, we should all calm it (myself included) as if you get a bfn tomorrow it would be disappointing there's no denying. But, allow yourself to wonder a little I think, the smelling the beer thing is what convinced me ;-).

Runner05 · 16/11/2015 13:39

Haha stark so true! Blush

Ok, well as long as we are all staying calm another first, nobody has ever cheered for my womb before I'm keeping my fingers crossed that there's a nice sticky blastocyst making himself at home in my womb.

Runner05 · 16/11/2015 15:16

In my effort to stay calm I have definitely not downloaded Ovia pregnancy and discovered that if I'm pregnant the baby is the size of a water bear (or a grain sawdust) or that it would be due at the end of June/start of July... I'm not very good at this staying calm thing Blush

BergamotMouse · 16/11/2015 16:51

It's all looking really positive for you runner. I can definitely see something on the first photo however faint!! How exciting. Double check the due date as the calculator I used suggested end of July. Fingers crossed tomorrow will confirm.

I had huge doubts just before fertile window but we had sex, DH didn't suggest a condom and I went with it and it definitely became easier after first time. I now have no doubts!!

I've had a really bad headache today which could be a sign of AF arriving. The spotting has continued lightly (tiny amount on wiping), just as it does before AF so I'm quickly losing all hope.

Runner05 · 16/11/2015 16:54

Oh no Bergamot I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed for you. When is AF due?
