TTC #1 coming off the pill in December - anyone else in the same boat?!

Hi,

I am going to be coming off the pill after ten years plus on it after my pack finishes in December. Excited but also terrified about what my body is going to do once I'm without all the hormones!

Anyone else doing the same roughly the same time?

Shelb x

(Hope this goes through struggling to post)

I've been using my days app, but that just predicts your next period and fertile days. I think it's A simpler app than ovia, I may switch over. Aww bunch your snack haul looks amazeballs!

KatOnATinRo0f · 06/11/2015 17:38

I downloaded ovia a few days ago too and am finding it quite good

shelbTa · 06/11/2015 17:52

Haha bunch that's mint! Is that a bottle of rum in the middle?! X

Hi Lisa welcome to the support group. It's kinda like Alcoholics Anonymous only with pissy sticks Wink

Fingers crossed for you Mor come one, one of us has to catch this month Grin

Oh my god Bunch can I come to yours this evening!?
I have discovered toffee apple and salted caramel Wensleydale which I think should be safe while I'm upduffed (or being crazy lady and avoiding stuff) I've also bought myself some fake wine. Good thing I have a good imagination!!!

am so not sat around like a crazy person analysing every twinge in my tummy and poking my boobs to see if they hurt... They do but that's because I keep poking them

Ni4444 · 06/11/2015 18:44

AA with pissy sticks!! Runner you crack me up! And stop poking your boobs!! You're gonna need them!!

bunch my cd twin you are an inspiration with that haul! I have a beef pie on the menu followed by movie time in the bath with wine and cheese don't knock it if you haven't tried it AF is well timed...meeting a friend tomorrow who would have been seen right through my not drinking!
So excited for fertility week to come around again!! Grin

BunchOfBobs · 06/11/2015 18:47

Haha Runner. I was also doing the boob poking.

Starky it truly is amazing. I can't wait to get started on it!

Yes Shelb it most certainly is. Spiced rum, best drunk with ginger ale and a slice of lime. Tastes just like cream soda mmmm.

I agree someone needs to get caught this month!!!

Pinklily1 · 06/11/2015 18:56

Love it Bunch! I love love love pate!

Welcome Lisa

I tried convincing OH to start TTC a bit earlier, after finding out our other friend is pregnant, but he's sticking like glue to January Sad

harrietm87 · 06/11/2015 19:21

Welcome newbies!
pink don't worry - January will fly in - Christmas just around the corner! I'm excited thinking that this might be the last year before I have my own baby....I can dream!
My best friend has just announced her pregnancy and I haven't felt at all jealous - in fact weirdly comforted because I feel like if it happens for her it will for me too (though no factual basis for this whatsoever!)

Runner05 · 06/11/2015 19:22

Pink Are you still on contraception? Sorry I can't remember, my memory sucks so I dread to think what I'll be like with baby brain! Confused
Anyway, point being if you are then you just need to convince him to agree with you stopping... After that you don't really need to convince him to start trying as most men get pretty bored of condoms and decide they don't care Wink

Ni are you eating the cheese in the bath? Hmm

Ni4444 · 06/11/2015 19:40

I changed the plan around...started with a quick dig around in the Ben and Jerry's, went for the wine and smelly brie next, all while waiting for the pie to cook! Very unusually I have the place to myself tonight and tomorrow so I think the bathtime movie will wait for tomorrow.
Hardly any booze this month...this glass should leave me nicely fuzzy! #cheapdate

BunchOfBobs · 06/11/2015 19:51

Ni I'm so glad we're both enjoying this the best way how. Through the medium of food and booze! Haha.

Pinklily1 · 06/11/2015 20:14

Oooh Ni which Ben and Jerry's did you have? I love ice cream!

Runner I stopped taking the pill mid September and we've been using condoms since. He doesn't like them but hasn't got to the point of not wanting to use them yet. I'm sure it will come, so to speak Smile

Ni4444 · 06/11/2015 21:41

It's their vanilla and caramel frozen yoghurt-a frozen yoghurt that actually tastes good! I'm a sucker for ice-cream pink! Haagen Daaz does not survive in my freezer!! It calls to me!!! "EAT ME"!!! I usually ban it from the house!

Deborah89 · 07/11/2015 07:57

Bunch that stash looks amazing!!!
Ni your evening sounded wonderful, you both know how to enjoy AF!

Welcome to the newbies!

I am pretty awful at keeping in touch with people so am doing my best on here

Bergamot I am now CD 17 as well so definitely in the 2ww club. Not sure if I will catch this month especially as I had to have an MRI yesterday and was on tramadol all evening.

I really hope someone on here catches soon though

Is everyone enjoying the fireworks? Luckily my new puppy is fine with them and occasionally wants to go outside and look at them!

Has anyone else been using the app and having trouble posting? Xx

Sshsecretenclosed · 07/11/2015 08:18

Hi all - and any newbies.

Just to update you - dh wants to keep with the original plan and stop the pill at xmas as we agreed. So, I took the pill last night. I just want to get started - but all the best things are worth waiting for right?

Pinklily1 · 07/11/2015 09:12

Morning ladies

The Ben and Jerry's frozen yoghurt is yum. I love the strawberry cheesecake one. I try not to buy it though otherwise I would eat the entire tub over two days.

Secret - at least you know its not that long until you can stop taking it. Presumably its just one more pack?

My OH has said this morning that he's worried about finances and that when there is a baby, maybe I should just have 9 months rather than 12 months maternity leave. I don't really mind about that, but told him in no uncertain terms that he better not be looking to delay TTC. We've already been through the finances before, and although it will be tight, it is doable, so I'm not having him change his mind now

Deborah - I don't use the app so not had any problems.

Sshsecretenclosed · 07/11/2015 10:25

Lily
It's two more packs Hmm
Means that 21st of December is last pill. Dh thinks it will be a great way to start the new year and mark our 'new chapter'. I have an awful headache this morning and can't help but feel a little disappointed. I think I'm just way too excited about the possibility of ttc. I feel really ready for the first time I think. Plus the tiniest newborn I've ever seen - in Costa yesterday, made my ovaries ache more than ever!

Morning everyone. Xx

Sshsecretenclosed · 07/11/2015 10:44

Scrap that- Christmas Eve is last pill. Maybe that does make the beginning of ttc a bit romantic!

Runner05 · 07/11/2015 10:46

Morning ladies, how are you all doing this horrible rainy day?

Sorry you didn't get the answer you wanted Secret but at least you've got something to look forward to.

So how many of us are in the tww? Joking aside I am struggling not to symptom spot. Although implantation doesn't happen for about 6 days your body starts producing hormones as soon as fertilisation happens and ever since Thursday by body has felt ever so slightly weird. It's kind off like the feeling you get after you've gone over a bridge too quickly and made your stomach flip, all fluttery and odd. I'm about 99% certain I'm imagining it but the sensation hasn't gone away.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it's real and not me going mental.

Pinklily1 · 07/11/2015 10:52

Oooh, Runner that sounds exciting! When will you be able to test?

Runner05 · 07/11/2015 11:00

Ages yet, if it is a symptom then it's literally shown up a couple of days after fertilisation. still here's hoping but I'm pretty sure that if I get so much as a twitch in my big toe I'll think it's a symptom! Hmm

It doesn't help that I just really, really want to catch straight away. I could do with something going right without a struggle for a change Blush

BunchOfBobs · 07/11/2015 11:35

Eek Runner that's so exciting. fX crossed for you here!!
Symptoms that early are not unheard of.

BergamotMouse · 07/11/2015 11:57

I'm in my tww runner. Currently about 3dpo and I'm sure my breasts are more sore than usual. But I'm always one to symptom spot - did it before we were even trying. DH learnt to just say 'yes dear' to my 'that's it, in definitively pregnant' comments once every few months. God knows what I'll be like in 10 days time.

Runner05 · 07/11/2015 12:55

Haha! I think we must be at about the same stage Bergamot so at least we can be crazy symptom spotters together! Grin

No sore breasts for me but then I don't usually get that even at AF. I do want to eat everything in sight though and there are a few other things I could imagine are symptoms... The fluttery tummy is the only one that's unusual enough to make me take notice though. Hmm

Anyone else in the symptom spotting hell that is tww?
