Testing...wrong timing or just not preg?

Wonder if anyone can advise...I have a cycle of 25 days. DTD on day 8 and 10 of cycle. Think my period is due tomorrow...or even today but nothing yet. For the past few months I have had very sore boobs before period but have nothing at moment which is strange. Did a pregnancy test this morning which came back neg. Maybe I am testing too early? I have a feeling I ovulated 4 or 5 days after we DTD, despite an ovulation calendar telling me the earlier days were in my fertile time. I think I ovulated later because of the consistency of my cervical fluid....sorry if TMI!

I have two DD and this was just our first attempt this month so I have no idea really if I am all off in my cycle dates. I guess my questions are, could I have ovulated much later than the ovulation calendar predicted, and if so, is there still a chance I could be pregnant? I conceived easily with my first two but they are nearly 7yo and 4yo....I am 37 so maybe it will be harder now to conceive?

No one got any pearls of wisdom? Am I on wrong board?

I don't know what to suggest. I've only been pregnant once and we dtd every day for a month so ovulation wasn't really a factor - I must have ov'd at some point! All you can do is test again in a few days. Good luck!

You may have ovulated later and so your period will come later (if you are not pregnant). Your body can even go through all the motions of ovulation but not release an egg. I understand that the prediction calendars arent very accurate. The only thing you can do is wait it out and test every few days. Sorry I can't be of more help.

Thank you...just going to have to wait and see, as you say. Patience is a virtue and all that!

My first pregnancy test with DD1 was negative. I waited a few days tested again and it was positive!

Isthreeacrowd · 24/09/2015 21:32

I think I've ovulated late and therefore will get period late...

Following on from my original post...I still haven't got period which was due on 25th (I think). Tested on Friday afternoon but negative. Anyone got any thoughts on when I should re-test?

Thank you!! I don't have a test at home so won't be able to to test with first morning pee. Do you think this matters?

simplydivine05 · 27/09/2015 15:48

I would say that matters a lot in the early days although you can not drink for several hours then do it to replicate how it is at night. Can you get a test tomorrow and then test Tuesday morning?

Isthreeacrowd · 27/09/2015 15:54

Yes I could but waiting another day is so hard!!

I was tracking my periods and had a cycle of 26 days, regular as clockwork...period was late, so I got all excited and took a test that came up negative Sad ended up all sad and felt like it was another month wasted where I wasn't pregnant...but 5 days later I still didn't have my period, so I tested again, and it was positive Grin - give it a few days, and if Aunt Flo still hasn't dropped in for a visit, I would test again Smile good luck OP!! I know right? I moped around all upset when I got the neg test thinking "oh well period will probably come tomorrow"....it didn't and I had to stop myself from running out and getting another test!! But if you are indeed cultivating your own little jelly bean as we speak, then the wait will be so worth it!! Flowers

And congrats on your pregnancy. Just out of interest - when did you test first time and get a negative?

You could always save your wee. Collect it in the morning and test it when you get one. I tested on the day I was due and got a really strong positive on my clearblue and IC.

Good luck

PeanutButterFiend · 27/09/2015 18:20

I tested the first time about 2 weeks after my supposed ovulation date and it came up negative. 5 days later I did another one and that one was positive! DD is now 5 months old SmileFlowers

I'm in a similar boat.

My cycle has been a bit messed up after a recent miscarriage - but In July I had a cycle of 28 days followed by a cycle of 35 days.

This month we've been TTC and now I'm on day 36. Tests have been negative. I'm not sure if my cycle is just messed up but tomorrow is day 37 and it seems extremely long. Fed up of seeing negative results so might test again on Tueaday if there's no sign of my period

On the leaflet that came with the test it says it's 99% accurate from the first day of your missed period. Wish it wasn't so sure it was correct about the negative result

PeanutButterFiend · 28/09/2015 14:43

I hate it when test packs say that crap Angry I asked my dr about it because of my negative test and she said that most over the counter tests won't detect a strong positive until around 4-5 weeks into the pregnancy. So loads of people (myself included) take tests as soon as they miss their period, get all excited then get a negative result...even if they are in fact pregnant!
Wishing you all the luck in the world ladies SmileFlowers

I'm marking my spot - I'm around 5 days late and my breasts are even leaking slightly but 5 tests later and nothing...

Tara0806 · 28/09/2015 17:24
