I know that a faint line is a negative result, however, I'm curious to know if a faint line might develop in to a dark line in the same way as a faint bfp does? Anyone know?

Any line, faint or otherwise, is a BFP!!

Oh you were asking about OPKs not preg test, my bad.

MummyBex1985 · 23/09/2015 21:23

I think the same principle applies - you need to disregard any test after the window expires.

For me yes, they would darken over a few days before being positive.

Thanks all. I got a v faint positive so will just have to see what tomorrow brings. I'm hoping I'm going to ovulate in the next couple of days which would signal the return of my cycle after removal of the implant. If I ovulate I might be able to relax and stop worrying about whether my cycle will return!

Have you ever tried temping to confirm ovulation?

Loki17 · 24/09/2015 19:36

No and not really sure how I would go about it?

It's really easy! You need a BBT thermometer (which stands for Basel body temperature) they're really cheap on eBay.

Then you need to take your temperature at exactly the same time every morning and make sure it's literally the first thing you do even before you move out of bed - I set my alarm for 6:45am and keep mine on my bedside table.
You'll need a charting app to record the temperature.

You'll see a noticeable spike in temperature the day AFTER you ovulate - it's the progesterone that is responsible for this.
I recommend Fertility Friend as a good charting app. It also has good tutorials on temping.

Try using the opk at different times of the day. You might get a more accurate result :) I tried at 10am and 4pm the 4pm always got the + :)
