That dam stuff gave me thrush! Wasn't impressed...
Try drinking nettle tea... Didn't think I would like it, but have found it to be a pleasant change from tea and coffee, but it is a lot healthier for you.
It's meant to help to get pregnant and has vitamin k which when drunk during pregnancy is great for the baby...
Do some reading up on it.

Hi Sophie,

I've been using 1000mg of AC per day for 3 months and it has helped shorten my cycles by 4 days so far. Really pleased with it and haven't had any side effects. It has also increased the amount of EWCM I get and I think it helped me to ovulate this cycle, although I haven't fallen pregnant yet.

Are you taking it yet or thinking about it? x

sophied1983 · 24/09/2015 06:23

I started taking it a week or so back as I came off the Pill in May and I've only had two periods so far - thought it might help regulate?

I was put on a pill for people with PCOS to regulate cycles and it was the only time I knew exactly when AF would arrive. The hospital hoped my cycle would follow the same 28 day pattern when I finished the pills, but after my withdrawal bleed, it took 50 days to get my first period. Shortly after I started the AC and periods have been 48 days and then 44 days, so it's going in the right direction.

I read up lots online before I started taking it and they do say that it's not a short term fix, but I'm pleased with it so far. Have you given any thought as to how long you'll take it for?

tearsofrobertsmith · 25/09/2015 16:30

100 odd day cycle shortened to roughly 30ish within 4 months I think for me. Powerful stuff, beware.

MrsC2013 · 25/09/2015 19:11

I agree tears, if I didn't have such a long cycle or have been ttc for so long, I might not have taken it. My cycle was messed up enough to warrant it though and it's definitely getting shorter. It also seems to have increased EWCM for me Smile

MrsC2013 · 25/09/2015 19:12

Can I ask how much you take per day tears?

tearsofrobertsmith · 26/09/2015 13:35

It most certainly worked for me. It sounds like it doing wonders for you too MrsC, wishing you luck with. It was a couple of years ago now that I took it and it was 2 1000mg capsules twice a day I think, or maybe 500 mg?

Swannykazoo · 26/09/2015 13:42

Bought some but not remembered to take it. Hoping it might bring AF back from AWOL (21 month's breastfeeding and no AF yet!)

MrsC2013 · 29/09/2015 23:39

Thanks tears. I've been taking 1000mg per day. Unsure whether to increase this though and it's a tough one as there are different opinions on it. Still thinking about that one.

Best of luck to Sophie and Puggle. Hoping it will work out for you too.

Serenity05 · 30/09/2015 08:28

I started taking 1000mg per day when I came off the pill at the end of last year. I was diagnosed with PCOS as a teenager and I'd been on the pill for over a decade to regulate my cycle and manage symptoms. I took AC for four months and had a clockwork 28 day cycle from the start (unheard of for me before - I had complete amenorrhoea for five years before going on the pill) and knew exactly when I was ovulating. I got my bfp in April and I'm now ten weeks away from having a DS! Of course this is very unscientific, anecdotal evidence but I believe AC worked for me and I won't hesitate to take it again if/when DH and I want to try for number 2.

What a fantastic success story Serenity! Mine hasn't gone to a perfect cycle yet but I'm hoping I'll have some news to share soon too. Congratulations and good luck for the birth Flowers

MrsC2013 · 30/09/2015 10:49

Can I ask whether you changed anything else in that time? Such as other meds, diet etc?

Serenity05 · 30/09/2015 18:02

I was also taking 5mg of folic acid each day (I'm on an anti-epilepsy drug so need a higher dosage) but other than that, everything was the same.
