Best tests?

Hi, I am currently 5 days late, and I need to do a test this eve as it is driving me insane with the not knowing. I have heard conflicting advice about the best test to take, would a waitrose cheapy do the trick for an evening test? Or is it best to wait a few more days? TIA

Well done for waiting to test :-) I'm a poas'aholic. I bought and tried a clearblue today and got the same faint line I've had for the past few days on some internet cheapies I had in the house.

From the other lovely girls on here they recommended Superdrug / Tesco own brand ones are very sensitive and the FRER (First Response Early Result) are the best for being able to use from as early as 6 days (I think) before you are due. As you are already late I don't imagine it would make that much difference what ones you use but I found the Clearblue ones quite good today but expensive (I wasn't near anywhere that sold a wide variety or I'd have gone for FRER or Tesco own brand).

Good luck!!

Thank you. DP has bought a clear blue digital... Not sure whether it is best to try it now or wait until the morning? Seeing as I am five days late will that make a difference?? Thanks (oh and answers ASAP appreciated as I am holding my wee in and keeping my legs crossed until someone more knowledgable than me can advise!!!)

Sorry tmi about the wee thing!

Oh no, sorry just logged back in and saw this. Hope you're still not holding it in ;-)

How did you get on? They say first thing in the morning wee is better but if you're that late it might not make much of a difference. A lot of people don't recommend the digi ones as they take a lot of hcg to get a positive result but if you're 5 days late like you said it also wouldn't make a difference. Although you never know I guess. I used the digi one with my first as I liked seeing the 1-2 weeks :-)

Hope you're good x

Thanks. It came up a massive not pregnant on the digital, but still no sign of anything happening that end (IYSWIM), but just done a tesco cheapy and nothing came up, not even the control line shakes fist at sky not sure whether to just try the other one in the morning...

Oh no! No control line means it's a dud stick :-( How typical! The tesco ones are meant to be quite good so I'd give it another go in the morning.

How many DPO are you?

Let me know how you get on

Whataconundrum1 · 16/09/2015 21:47

I am not great at keeping track, but first day of last period was 12th August, lasted four (painful, whilst we were on holiday) days. and it lasted four days... Just did the other tesco test, exactly the same thing happened, no control, no test line came up. I just don't know what to think. Just feeling down in the dumps. Still no sign of period. DP is away this eve, so just wondering whether to let it run its course and see what happens (knowing my luck I will get AF in the morning), or what to think. Been pregnant before and all symptoms are there. Maybe just assuming... ??

Maybe give it a few days, that's what I'm trying to do. I'm 1 day late now but have had a couple of faint positives but a couple that are blank and I'm now scared to try again as I can't face another fainter than faint line or no line at all.

Feeling a bit rubbish myself too but there's nothing we can do but wait I guess. I know my body and definitely have some pregnancy symptoms but I'm just going to try to wait it out now.

Whataconundrum1 · 16/09/2015 22:06

Aww I know how it feels. Just feel cheated to have waited, all the signs are there but to get two blank tests in a row are a kick in the teeth. I just want to know one way or the other....

And at least you got some faint positives... Want to post a pic? I'll post mine (from July) if you post yours??? Ps my friend (who has three kids inc one who started out life as a faint positive then disappearing into a negative, then nothing for a month...) has now got a live and kicking very gorgeous 3 year old daughter...

This was the first one a few days ago

Another one a day later

secondtimenotsoeasy · 17/09/2015 11:16

I did one last night and it was fainter than that last one and then another that was blank.

I don't know whether it's the fear coming from having a mc in June or whether I'm having a chemical pregnancy. I've read so much about lines being faint and then turning negative :-(

I'm going to try and wait until Saturday as I'll be the same number of days late as I was the last time I got my BFP if you know what I mean. I just think I'm driving myself crazy testing at random times during the day when I cave and then it's negative and I get depressed.

The story of your friend gives me hope though! Not knowing for a month though would drive me insane!

How are you getting on? When will you leave it to poas?
