Any other late ovulation success stories?

Any advice or opinions welcomed. I am currently on CD36 last tested with a BFN on CD33 and really thought I was out this month as felt like AF was coming any day but this feeling has stopped and have really sore nipples which I've had for a few days which made me test as I don't normally get sore breasts during PMT, I really thought there was no chance but my last cycle was 40 days and I have no idea if and when I ovulated but last DTD on CD16 but been reading abut some ladies conceiving up to a week after DTD which could make it possible. Normally I would have thought my chance this month was over but the last time I felt this way, sore nipples and just a gut instinct was when I got pg last October but had a MMC at 8 weeks. I know I need to wait another few days and test again but seriously driving myself crazy thinking, could I be? Any other ladies know for sure they conceived way after DTD?

Sorry you're going through the uncertainty - I'm CD33 and have no idea yet either.

I think it would be unlikely to conceive a week after DTD though. I think the general consensus is that sperm lasts three days and up to five - but your DH might have super swimmers that last up to 7 (and they err on the side of caution re contraceptives - ie don't stop taking them until 7 days has passed since you last DTD).

Based on a 40 day cycle you'd have OVd somewhere around CD26 would be my best guess - have you ever had shorter cycles?

Yes 3 cycles previous were normal 28-30 days but I did have a blip early in the year where I didn't get AF for nearly 3 months, now that did freak me out. I've been to GP and had tests to make sure I'm not peri- menopausal. I really had resigned myself to the fact I had no chance this month due to BPN but having such sore breasts is confusing me, as I have only ever had this when pregnant. If nothing happens in next couple of days I will test again just to be sure. After doing the usual googling I have found some stories of people who are convinced they conceived up to a week after DTD.

How long are your cycles normally? It's so frustrating isn't it, I'm out of tests otherwise I would do another one tonight.
