Anyone want to join me? All are welcome!

A bit about me: I am 33, have been with DH for 8 years but only got married about 3 months ago (and started TTC as soon as we got back from honeymoon!). We are now really keen to start a family... and already getting impatient with all this hangin' about!

Becky sorry to hear af arrived. FlowersWineFlowers

Keeks220 · 24/09/2015 08:12

Hi ladies, can i join please, have read this thread & it's just right for me at the moment!
I'm 33, been with DP 12yrs. Came off the pill last summer but it took til start of 2015 for me to get clued up on ovulation days, OPKs etc. then it was either i was ill, he was ill,one of us would be away on ovulation days so it took til June for us to actively start trying (or thats what im telling myself).
So at the mo im trying to track ovulation, recording BBT,trying to eat healthy, no caffeine (would love a nice coffee & im v.sick of herbal teas!) also taking vitamins - b complex to try stop spotting before AF, EPO, macca root and thinking bout starting vitamin c.
Recently just had a nice holiday where we DTD lots over ovulation but unfortunatly AF arrived even earlier than expected - gutted, thought this would be the time!
Have been for blood tests as i was worried about the spotting, hopefully results will be back today.
Sorry for long post but haven't said anything to friends so im greatful for any info, advice, chat!
Thanks Keeks.

Clarabell100 · 24/09/2015 12:28

Thanks emalady I'll go for the digital one then! Is it the clearblue one you use?

Becky so sorry to hear that. Hopefully next month with be your time (and all our times!)

keeks sounds like you're doing all the right things! We haven't said anything to friends either so this is a great place to come to keep sane!

funnybeanz · 24/09/2015 14:31

Damn that pesky AF, sorry to hear that Becky. Hopefully next month will bring bfp!

Hi Keeks, we haven't told anyone either so this is a great place to rant and ask for advice! Are you taking all the supplements in one tablet specifically for conception or just taking them all individually? I have cut down on caffeine but really should give up. I rely on my morning cup of tea though Confused

Keeks220 · 24/09/2015 21:32

Hi, thanks for the welcome,
Funnybeanz the supplements i take are all separate, i should rattle with them all!
Well i got my blood test results back today, i went for tests bcos every time days before AF ive been spotting and me been a worrier i thought it must mean that some thing was wrong with hormone levels which would hinder ttc so i asked for a test. They checked thyroid & iron & progestorone and today they confirmed that everything was all ok. Which is all good but the crazy lady inside me is still unsure!
How does everyone else stay calm/ stay patient? I think its the days after AF waiting for ovulation when im at my worst, thinking what else can i do to help?!?

MrsD28 · 26/09/2015 09:55

Sophied1983, Keeks220, welcome! Sorry to hear about AF BlondeBecky1983.... hopefully it will be the last for a while!

So. Some news.

Haven't posted this week because I have been crazy busy at work. Was expecting AF last week but it never came, and I got a BFN when I tested (funnybeanz - thanks for the support! I only managed to not test again this week because I was so busy with work!). Still no AF this week, so I bought a test last night and tested when I woke up to pee at 6am this morning. Got a BFP!!! Woke DH to tell him - I think he is a bit shell-shocked. Very excited, but nervous too!

MrsD28 - that is fantastic news! Wow! How exciting for you both. Now you really have the 'want-it-to-happen-but-scared-it-has' feeling I bet?! Very very exciting though, congratulations! Let it sink in. Smile

funnybeanz · 26/09/2015 10:11

Keeks220 - I don't stay calm at all, I'm currently in the wait after AF hoping to ovulate and trying to think of anything I can do/take to ensure I ovulate. Then I'm at my worst during the 2 week wait for AF I think, second guessing any slight twinge. I think it's safe to say I spend most of my cycle feeling fairly crazy! Blush

Keeks220 · 26/09/2015 11:31

Congratulations MrsD28, an exciting start to the weekend!

aimzworth · 26/09/2015 23:21

Hi ladies. I am 33 and ttc #1. Just finished my first period since coming off the pill. Quite excited about trying and just googling everything at the moment. I am taking 7seas trying for a baby vits. They seem to be fine. It's. A minefield of science and am trying not to be a mental person about it all xx

hanste123 · 27/09/2015 00:09

Cammc it was probably an early miscarriage, apparently it happens all the time in the early days. I had one too, what a horrible experience but keep trying, TTC in Nd off for about 10 months, I'm :0 partner is 41 x

hanste123 · 27/09/2015 00:10

Typo, meant to say I'm 30 x

Clarabell100 · 28/09/2015 17:51

MrsD28 congratulations!!! That is brilliant news! Hopefully it can rub off on the rest of us!

So according to my tracking app my fertile time is starting shortly with ovulation happening on Friday. Not sure how accurate that is but going to pick up the digital ovulation stick before then to be sure. I'm doing a half marathon on Sunday and I knew they say exercise is fine while trying but I'm feeling a bit worried about it. Is it really ok? All that jumping around??! I know I'm being crazy!

C x

Keeks220 · 28/09/2015 20:52

I would go and do your half marathon & enjoy it! After you've finished think of what you've achieved, you'd be gutted if you missed out. I think what i mean is we can't put everything on hold can we, we need some distractions!!

CamMc · 28/09/2015 21:18

Thanks hanste123. Feeling much more positive this month. On day 6 on my cycle and we're going to try the sperm meets egg plan (SMEP) for the first time this month. Here's hoping!

Just seen the job of my dreams and questioned whether I should apply whilst TTC but Keeks220 is right - we mustn't put things on hold 'just in case' so I applied last week and will hear if I have an interview next week. While I'm hopeful, who knows how long a BFP could take.

Damson9 · 29/09/2015 10:17

Hi all, mind if I tag along?

Hubby and I have been trying since April, to no avail :( I'm 34 and he's 32, we've been together for 11-12 years but only got married last year. We bought a house earlier this year and finally got ourselves into a position to ttc, but man, it's a lot more difficult than everyone lets on!

Elizarome · 29/09/2015 10:57

MrsD! that is fantastic news! Congratulations Flowers. You can be our lucky mascot!

I'm 31, DH also 31. Married and bought first house together last month and we're just back from honeymoon, which coincided with our first official TTC cycle! Currently in 2ww, but not looking good as BBT on the definite low side (oral 36.5, vaginal 36.86).

Period due in about a week, but no idea when (or if) I ovulated as got impatient with the OPKs! Never thought I'd get annoyed with a stick Blush. Didn't like the idea of limited fluid intake and no peeing for 4 hrs so will prob. just concentrate on calendar, CF and temping.

Glad your tests came back ok., Keeks. Fully empathise with the cycle-long craziness - I remember someone saying that TTC means you live your life in 2 week intervals! Fingers crossed for all of us xx

Cordelia21 · 29/09/2015 21:13

Congratulations MrsD what fantastic news. I am curretly in the 2 week wait but not hopeful this month so not looking too hard for signs this time. I've been temping this month for the first time and if it is righ then I clearly ovulated on Friday and hadn't DTD since Sunday night and then not again till Friday night so probably missed the window. I was at the doctor today for something unrelated but thought I'd ask a few questions while I was there and he told me that the best time to concieve is 1-2 days before ovulation and 5 days after!! I'm pretty sure he is wrong as everything I've ever read says the egg only lasts for about 12-24 hrs after ov?

Keeks220 · 29/09/2015 21:18

Good luck with the job CamMc!
Thanks Elizarome, when Dr's said everything was ok i dont know who was more surprised me or DP, apparently he was sure there'd be something amiss with me, thats support - not!!
According to ovulation calculator im on day one of 'fertile period' so fingers x'd for this week, no positive OPK yet tho. DP away next week so bit worried we'll miss the window

Keeks220 · 29/09/2015 21:24

Ive read the same type of things Cordelia21, something i read said that by the time you see your BBT rise it could by too late to do anything about it

Cordelia21 · 29/09/2015 21:35

yes Keeks220 thats what I thought. It just doesn't fill me with confidence when the professionals are giving the wrong evidence, if I went on his advice we most likely would never get pregnant!

Clarabell100 · 05/10/2015 16:45

Ok, I think I may have messed it up this month! I started using Ovia to track my fertile window and ovulation. So based on all my dates it had me ovulating last friday. Hubby and I decided to dtd Thurs, Fri and Saturday.

But at the same time I'm trying to pay attention to my CM - not something I've ever done before and when I entered this on Ovia it completely changed my fertile window to the previous week so I was no longer fertile at all. We dtd on thursday anyway but not the rest of the week as I was feeling really down and annoyed with myself. I also just got my opks through so tested after lunch on friday - just in case the app was wrong but I got a negative.

So I guess my question is, is CM a reliable way to work out when your ovulating? or should I just test using opks and ignore it?

Pipouniette · 05/10/2015 17:12

Hello ladies, may I join you? I'm 34, and been ttc 6 months for #1. Had a BFP last month, or should I say a SFP (super faint positive) and ended up having a chemical pregnancy two days later Sad, just one day after DP had proposed! I was really hoping to be pregnant again this month, but AF showed up right on time yesterday. Probably just as well, as we're in the middle of moving. Anyway, I have been lurking on TTC forums for a while and thought I'd finally join one to make the TWW a bit more bearable... I look forward to chatting with you all on your TTC journeys! Smile

Cordelia21 · 05/10/2015 17:20

Clarabell100 as far as I know when you have EWCM that is the best time to dtd as it gives the best conditions for sperm to survive and get to where they need to be! It is a real minefield ttc though, I have to agree it is disappointing when you think you have missed the boat and have to wait for the next chance. I am taking my temperature this month as well as opk and checking CM but DH works away and I think we missed this time also, I'm due AF in a couple of days so we'll see, fingers crossed for us both
