How exciting sammy IVF meds ready I have all my fingers crossed for you Xx

DizzyNorthernBird · 20/09/2015 07:50

mummy I can't update my stats as it says I need to download an app but I don't want to!

DizzyNorthernBird · 20/09/2015 08:02

nomio congratulations on the graduation. Hope you're feeling better today.

sammy ooooh symptoms, exciting! Imagine if you got a bfp the cycle before ivf?!

spinning, hi!

Hope everyone else is ok!

Cd12 today, so I've only got a few more days to go until my fertile window. I'm really hoping for a shorter cycle this month as if I ov on cd21 again I'll be on my evening shifts which means no dtd'ing around that time. Ugh.

Also, I've started to talk openly to people about ttc. It's really interesting when you hear other people's stories, it seems most people I've spoken with took some time to conceive too. It's so reassuring as I've realised that, actually, everyone else isn't getting pregnant at the drop of a hat. Apparently it is totally normal to be trying for several months after all.

DizzyNorthernBird · 20/09/2015 08:03

Could anyone update my stats for me?

####cycle 9, bfp due sometime around 10/10/15###

LuckyBlackKitty · 20/09/2015 09:05

Hi all,
Can I join? I'm 35 TTC #1 cycle 6. Currently CD9. I keep telling myself that we've only had 6 attempts but am trying hard to stay positive while also obsessing about symptoms in 2WW. Last months craziness was that our psychotic cat sat on me twice in the space of a week (normally unheard of) so it must be a sign! Bonkers huh!
How do you ladies stay so upbeat?!?

loopylou1984 · 20/09/2015 09:41

Hi Lucky, welcome :)
Errr...how do we stay upbeat? Well we don't, not all the time. But luckily there are usually several people who are in a good place to pick you up when you have a wobbly moment, this bus has been my lifeline. I can honestly say the ladies on here are now my friends :)
6 months is still within the 'normal' time range, don't panic yet. Can we have your stats? Age, which number child you are ttc, cycle number, BFP due date?

Thank you everyone for you well wishes for the IVF.

Nomio - how do I feel about it? Hmm. Well, a little excited and eager to get on with it. But if i'm honest there is a part of me that just doesn't think its going to work. After 2 years of trying this little part of my brain just feels like we're not meant to have a child. That sounds so negative, and really I am in a good place. Its really hard to explain. Xx

loopylou1984 · 20/09/2015 09:42

Ooops Lucky, I just realised you gave us all your stats except bfp due date! Sorry!

LuckyBlackKitty · 20/09/2015 09:54

Thanks Sammy. Smile I see you're about to start IVF. Good luck!

eskimoflo · 20/09/2015 10:46

Hi everyone, seems like the bus is on a happy road right now and we're mostly all quite chipper Smile

Welcome to any newbies. You're very welcome here.

Sammy Good luck with the IVF- you're so nearly there now! Has AF turned up yet?

Nomio Congrats on your graduation; you sounded like you had a blast. Are you feeling any better today?

Good to see some of our grads popping back on with their pom poms out Grin

Last night, I took my third lot of clomid pills before I went to sleep, and at about 2.30am, I woke up absolutely sweltering and dripping with sweat. It was horrible! I considered getting a cold shower, but scrambled around for 10 minutes trying to plug in and switch on the stand-up fan. Urgh. Not looking forward to taking tonight's dose. Also not encouraged by the fact that it states in the instructions that you shouldn't take more than two pills a day. I'm on three! Hmm Confused

Nomio23 · 20/09/2015 18:44

Welcome Lucky, I hope your journey will be a short one. As Sammy said, we don't always manage to stay upbeat, but this is an amazing place to vent, find information, and imagine symptoms! I have added you to our stars list. You too, Flymo.

DizzyN, I have updated your stats.

Sammy, I think it is completely understandable that you would have mixed feelings. It is natural to be worried, but I am sure you will be successful. You are young, healthy & got lots of good embryos. Plus you have all of us sending good luck vibes your way!

Eskimo, I hate the stupid hot flushes & night sweats you get with Clomid. I have heard the side effects get worse as the dose increases. Sad Hopefully they will pass quickly.

I am still feeling absolutely terrible today. I can only manage to get out of bed for an hour at a time. I have been trying to avoid painkillers just in case there is a bean in there, but have given in & dosed myself up now!

Spinners, sorry for the painful AF. I hope you feel better soon. Weirdly, my sister was just telling me earlier that hers is really heavy & painful this month.

DizzyNorthernBird · 20/09/2015 19:01

Thanks nomio!

I have a bit of a bugbear about social media restricting what we do to force us to download their apps lol.

eskimo the symptoms sound awful, I hope the drugs do their stuff this time to make it worthwhile.

lucky I'm the same age as you and also ttc number one. Just started cycle 9. I stay upbeat most of the time as I'm a firm believer in fate and everything happening for a reason. So there's probably some reason for me not getting pregnant just yet, I just don't know what it is yet....iyswim. That being said I find ttc painfully boring and often come on here in a grump when faced with yet another month of robotic like shagging!

nomio do you think your cold is a pregnancy symptom? Where in your cycle are you?

Nomio23 · 20/09/2015 19:06

Only 5DPO, Dizzy, so I think it is a bit early for symptoms!

I know what you mean about hating being forced to sign up to apps. I am the same, but offered to take over the stats, so can't really complain!

LuckyBlackKitty · 20/09/2015 20:51

Thanks for the words of encouragement. I'm a believer in everything happening for a reason too...

I hope you feel better soon Nomio.

Flybynight1 · 20/09/2015 21:17

Newbie here! First cycle, or rather first POTENTIAL cycle since having my implant out... Still early days so haven't delved into the world of ovulation testing, maybe next month :-P it's very exciting, and since having the implant out I am feeling great, and pretty horny (TMI sorry!) which has to be a plus!

Looking forward to sharing the journey with everyone :-) x

LuckyBlackKitty · 20/09/2015 21:24

Hi Flybynight1 - I'm a newbie too but I'm on cycle 6. Smile
I've been lurking for a while but have been feeling a little down in the dumps so posted for a bit of support from the lovely ladies on here. It's nice to be able to share with people in the same boat.
Good luck to you!

Hairstylisttoboris · 20/09/2015 21:37

Just popping in to say to fly that there really isn't any such thing as tmi!
Cd 8 here of my sex free cycle as DH is away.... I'm oddly missing opks and pills (just on straight folic acid).

Nomio23 · 20/09/2015 21:42

Hi Fly, it is lovely to have another newbie on here. I remember the excitement of the first few months trying! Hopefully it won't take you long to get your baby. Smile

Lucky, I am sorry to hear you have been feeling down. We have all been there, so please feel free to vent whenever you need to. X

Nomio23 · 20/09/2015 21:43

May I suggest the milkman, Boris?!

Hairstylisttoboris · 20/09/2015 22:00

I'm open to offers!

Flybynight1 · 20/09/2015 22:27

Thanks for the warm welcome ladies!! :-D I am slowly getting my head around the acronyms (with the help of google!)

Keep with the positive vibes everyone, I am a big believer of positivity breeding (no pun intended!) good results and that everything happens for a reason... Easier said than done I know :-)

Boris any chance of Hubby sending next day delivery and a turkey baster?!?! :-P

Nomio23 · 20/09/2015 23:17

Fly, if you go on the desktop site there is a list somewhere near the top of all the acronyms. It took me a while when I first joined too, but I am sure you will soon get the hang of it.

DizzyNorthernBird · 21/09/2015 10:41

Morning!

Welcome fly. Hopefully your body will return to normal quickly & you will get your bfp soon! How did you find the implant? I hated it!

boris how strange that you're missing the opks! Do you think you're addicted? Wink

nomio I resisted signing up for Facebook messenger for ages....it annoys me so much that our lives these days revolve around social media and the developer had effectively cut off one mode of contact to force me to download their app (yes it costs nothing but it's the principle of the thing). You can't go on a website these days without being harassed by pop ups asking you to install apps. Grr. Eventually I had to install messenger as I was missing lots of messages Hmm. Social media has far too much control over many people's lives!

Anyway, cd13 and saw my first bit of ewcm this morning! Hurrah! So keeping my fx for ov before next Tuesday when I won't see DP for 3 days. Although looking back at my last few cycles I often start with fertile cm around now but don't ov until much later.....I haven't had a shorter cycle for a few months though so must be due one around now....I just need to make sure I keep calm and avoid stress for the next week!

flymo79 · 21/09/2015 11:47

oooh thanks for the stats! feel like a proper passenger on the bus now!!
had a bit of a bummer of a weekend so feeling like this week needs to bring better things... sometimes ttc bores the heck outta me too, especially in week 2 of dtd eod, it's not really that much in the scheme of things but it can become a bit contrived very quickly!!

I use the glow app and recently there was a hilarious post in the community forum all about 'the deed' which inspired me (momentarily, for one night) an now I'm back to finding it all a bit robotic!!

Mummyofonesofar · 21/09/2015 12:18

Boris Glad you said about there being no TMI! It really doesn’t exist on this thread Grin measure you cm and describe it to your hearts content Smile

DizzyN I think around ov time TTCers should be able to take leave from work to do yoga, eat greens and pineapple so no work stresses can delay ov – think we can put a bill through? Smile I hope you ov before DH goes away x

loopylou1984 · 22/09/2015 06:43

Thanks Nomio and Eskimo!
Weirdly AF hasn't turned up yet, but feels like she will any minute.
My temp was still high this morning too, but I think my thermometer is on the blink so don't really trust it. Why does this always happen when I'm waiting to start treatment?! Lol.

Also we had our nhs appointment yesterday and they have finally referred us for IVF so if this doesn't work this time we have the next plan in place. We didn't mention that we're having a private round now, and so the doctor was explaining different protocols and I quite 'for someone like you at low risk of OHSS you will probably have a short protocol'
Dh and I thought that was quite amusing given the outcome of our fresh cycle! X
