Thanks Nomino - trying to be matter of fact about the injections! The flashing lights were very scary, but I had taken the full course by then, so just had to hope there was no permanent damage. Part of me felt cheated that I'd missed out on another five goes with Clomid, but in the other hand injectables seem to be more effective...

Eskimo the nurse said that when women do get a BFP with injectables it tends to be on the third round. Also forgot to say that at my clinic they will only do every other month, as otherwise women tend to get cysts. Bit of a bummer as they don't do anything in December, so I've only got time for an October round and then it's a long wait until the new year and we usually go away in January, so that's messed up now :(

Mummyofonesofar · 23/09/2015 17:54

Wow Nomio a new record?!

moonim yes sorry I am pg with twins but I hang around here 'cause I loves these girls! Mostly just cheering on with the occasional update Smile

My story was that we started ttc in Jan, month one very chilled then straight into vits, BBT month 2 and opks and baby lube from month 3. Month 3 we got a BFP! Then lost the baby at 8 weeks after growth stopped at 6.5w. Then 2 cycles ttc and using the mooncup later we couldn't believe our luck when we got another BFP. Had bleeding at 6.5 weeks and assumed the worst. Early scan revealed 2 hbs, and just passed the 12w mark this week.

DizzyNorthernBird · 23/09/2015 17:56

Good on 'yer nomio!

I'm sure orgasming doesn't make much difference when it comes to conceiving. Otherwise some women would never get pregnant!!!

boris.....pelvic floor exercises whilst sitting on the loo.....pushes the semen out supposedly. Although usually gravity kicks in first!

Whoever said about semen leaking out while lying in bed....I usually lie on my back with my legs together and crossed at the ankles....seems to work for me unless DP has just faked his orgasm Wink

On the subject of leaving the sperm in vag, if there's fertile cm and an open cervix, I reckon the swimmers can simply make their way up there?!

night DP hasn't been tested yet.....

nightandthelight · 23/09/2015 18:00

Ah right, is he planning to go for tests soon Dizzy? Thanks for the semen leakage tip, will see if it prevents the damp patches :)

Nomio23 · 23/09/2015 18:04

I have never heard of pushing the sperm out. I always think it is better to keep it in there as long as possible! I normally lay down for at least 15 minutes afterwards. I don't do BoP anymore, but think lying down might just make it a bit easier for the tadpoles to climb up there!

Moomin, that is annoying. Hopefully it will work for you this month & you won't have to worry about any future injections. Smile

Mummy, please don't ever leave us!

Mummyofonesofar · 23/09/2015 18:22

DizzyN I thought pelvis floor would have the apposite effect pulling up and then resting. I thought expelling semen would be more like bearing down? Which I do after sex so I don't leak for hours afterwards!

Nomio as long as this stupid mobile site works I'll be staying put. You lot helped me get these babies in my tum tum and I'm forever grateful and can't wait for the day this is a bus full of grads and we all get our babies. (Gush gush I know) Grin

Hairstylisttoboris · 23/09/2015 19:00

nomio proud of you!

night our SA saga is that the local clinic proved hard to make an appointment at (took 3 weeks) and only had appointments on Tues and weds. The first set of results came back saying low sample size, needs repeating but low spermz count suspected. DH went into a real depression at that. Now we need to get retested. But the local clinic has shut and we now need an appointment at the other end of the county and they dont have a free apt until mid October. Sigh. It's lovely having you back. DH and I went to Aber this summer, had a lovely time, thought of you. X

nightandthelight · 23/09/2015 19:19

Argh that is so frustrating Boris! Can't believe the service is so poor in your area :( how is your DH feeling now? Envious of your trip to Aber! Bet you had a great time :)

Woolly84 · 23/09/2015 19:33

night welcome back!! Grin how are you getting on? I've completely lost track of how far along you'd be now!

mummy excellent news about the scan! Smile

Regarding positions we did on top quite a few times - I think those spermies get propelled up so quickly that it doesn't make too much difference.

Rooting for some more BFPs here soon xx (and yes, I will continue to hang around like a bad smell)

Hello woolly it's good to be back :) I am 21 weeks with a little boy!

How about you lovely?

Can't wait for the next BFP on this bus!

Woolly84 · 23/09/2015 19:54

Wow you're 21 weeks night that has gone quick! And congrats on the little lad Smile I'm only 5+1 so very very early days, hardly feel pregnant so hoping the next 7 weeks or so go quick!

nightandthelight · 23/09/2015 19:57

Fx woolly, was great to see your BFP :) Who will be next!

Cairomama77 · 23/09/2015 20:07

Anyone else gearing up for October? It will be an amazing month. Halloween bfp's for all!

Nomio23 · 23/09/2015 20:43

I gave in & tested. Blush BFN, but I am still not ruling myself out as it is twerly & it was only an IC.

I am off up North tomorrow. It is my nephew's 4th birthday on Friday so I am going up to surprise him. I can't wait to see the little monsters!

Cairo, I will probably be with you in a couple of days.

Woolly, I hope the time goes quickly for you. X

chopsface · 23/09/2015 21:06

nomio Angry 8dpo is way twerly. Step away from the sticks! Naughty girl.

Sorry guys. I didn't mean to imply orgasm after sex was a miracle cure to infertility. Just that it seemed to be a wierd coincidence for me.

Cairomama77 · 23/09/2015 21:16

I am a closet testing addict so I only buy when I am late. Usually. It's so hard not to test.
I will not test again until the end of October. I solemnly swear....bla bla bla

Nomio23 · 23/09/2015 22:12

I embrace my testing obsession!

Pixa · 23/09/2015 22:23

I thought I had read something about the female orgasm helping to conceive
Not.massively, but I think naturally, the contractions that occur during a female orgasms move the ejaculate further along. Wink

Pixa · 23/09/2015 22:26

Silly phone, that was supposed to say...

mrslewis2015 · 23/09/2015 23:05

Hi everyone and Eskimo thank you for your kind words, af arrived last night with a vengeance, horrible cramps all day, and working with 25 under 5's today (I'm a nursery practitioner) is not fun! But anyway, onto cycle 6! Thanks for your info about the opks, will try them for a month or two but also get an appointment to find out if I am ov'ing!

Interesting convo about expelling sperm, always been really unsure about it as I get terrible bladder infections! Quite liked the idea of the mooncups but my hubby is really anti any 'non-just-doing it-based' conception, he really wants to keep it simple...(not sure how many double negatives I used there but you get the jist!)

Sleep well and good luck to anyone still waiting this month!

Moomin37 · 24/09/2015 07:27

Mummy thank you for sharing your story and I'm very sad to hear about your earlier loss Flowers I'm glad you're sticking around as it will be great to hear your updates :) and lovely of you to want to support others - as someone said last night, we must be due a BFP on this bus soon!

Nomio thanks for your positive thoughts. Although the scan revealed an egg (last Thursday CD19) I've no way of knowing if I ovulated (had some twinges in right hand side yesterday CD25). We DTD regularly since the scan, so at least we've made the most of the opportunity. Just down to nature/luck now. According to Ovia AF is due on Saturday, but I don't have any PMT symptoms yet... Anyway have fun up north and I have my fingers crossed for you :)

Pixa I'm sure I read the same thing somewhere!

Pixa · 24/09/2015 08:01

Thanks to those who waved! DizzyMerry we are doing okay. We have been having our ups and downs, which I'm hoping is normal in this circumstance. We have our appointment with the consultant next week, so we should have some more answers then. We have had 9 different investigations between us both, our GPs have been really quick. It's taken two and a half months from our infertility diagnosis, lots more investigations, referral to the infertility clinic and to see our consultant. Really happy with the speed in which things have progressed. I've started doing some infertility awareness raising which has given me some focus other than peeing on sticks & temping, etc. We are now just hoping they'll be able to do something. Thanks for asking about us!

I really am hoping you all get bfps soon. What this bus needs is more gin!

DizzyNorthernBird · 24/09/2015 08:40

Morning!

mummy I suppose it's like alternating bearing down with a pelvic floor squeeze..... I can see why you think it would do the opposite though. I've just been doing it because Toni Weschler says you should....but I'm going to stop in future to see if it helps.

pixa that's fantastic that you're speeding through testing so quickly. I really hope you get some answers soon.

night we've agreed that he will go for an SA if no bfp by Xmas. I know he should go sooner rather than later but I don't want to pressure him or imply that he might be the problem. He can be a sensitive soul my DP, lol.

mrslewis my DP is the same. He gets grossed out about if I talk about ttc as it makes it too clinical. So I talk about it on here instead. It's a shame I can't be more open about ttc with him but it just takes the sexiness out of sex for him....I worry that he thinks I'm only interested in hi for his sperm! So it's best to keep quiet. He tolerates me temping but that's it....never mind opks or cm talk!!

chops/pixa I'm sure the orgasm can help....I just don't think it's the be all and end all. So many women can't orgasm from penetration alone and look at all the teenage pregnancies......it took me years to be able to orgasm through sex and I don't believe these youngsters get that lucky so young!

I've gone down with a cold Sad. Very runny nose and I feel worse because I did a Pilates workout on Tuesday (first time of doing Pilates in about 8 years) and my stomach muscles, hips and arms are aching! Every time I blow my nose it hurts so much! Blush

I'm a bit worried now in case I'm too snotty to dtd later! Lol.

Pixa · 24/09/2015 08:45

DizzyNorth plus, if it was the be all and end all, I would have a fair few children by now. Ha ha.

I think you're doing the right thing by not pressuring him. We did similar, we set out certain timescales but eventually DH saw how much I was getting upset by the whole thing and insisted we should go earlier.

On a complete side, have you started wedding planning?

DizzyNorthernBird · 24/09/2015 09:27

Lol pixa!

Oh I'm completely crap at wedding planning! The most I've done is discuss it with my parents. Truth be told, after years of being disciplined about money, the thought of spending thousands of pounds on a wedding really terrifies me. I've looked online at a couple of venues which look lovely put the prices are a massive turn off. I have no idea what to do! I might put it on hold until we've bought a house next year, then I won't feel as anxious about the cost.
