Hi
I am 20 and have been on birth controll for 3 years due to heavy periods however have changed from Femodene to Millinette then Cilest.
I came off Cilest and had my withdrawal bleed however I am waiting for my first period off of the pill and it has yet to come I was due 4 days ago and have taken multiple pregnancy tests in the hope to find out the reason I am not having my menstrual cycle is because I am pregnant and not due to the fact I have damaged my body due to taking Hormornal birth controll
HAs anyone been on Cilest and not got their peeriod back and if so how long did it take for it to come back?

It's very common (as in probably more common than not) that your periods are messed up after taking the pill. It takes a while to get it out of your system and sometimes for a while for your body to get back into the swing of it.

It can be a few months. I believe advice is that if still no periods after 6 months, see your GP.

A few years ago I came off the pill it took me 10 months to have a period. Iv been taking it again for about 6 years and then stopped my pill mid July and currently on day 53 and nothing yet! It can take a while for periods to return. 1st time I came off the pill it wasn't to TTC so I wasn't too fussed. This time, although we aren't trying yet, I will probably see GP if nothing by 6 months. Some peoples fertility returns immediately though so fingers crossed things settle quickly for you. X

I was on cliest for 12 years and my periods returned to normal straight away. Remember that your period can last between 21-35 days so at the moment you have nothing to worry about. Smile

It took me about 6 months to have any sort of a regular cycle when I came off Cilest after about 15 yrs. Sorry.

I'm 22, and came off the pill on 23rd July had a Withdrawl bleed and since then I've had pretty much nothing.. So on day 47.. Had a tiny bit of pink on Sataurday and slight bit of brown on Sunday but these were just once and such small amounts you probably wouldn't notice if you weren't trying to find something. Me and DH are TTC so this is really frustrating! I wish I had come off BC back at our wedding in May maybe then it would have sorted out by now. I don't think I've ovulated at all and my periods before 4 1/2 years on the pill were regular. Just wonder whether I should see a DR.. I guess because I'm young I thought it would sort itself out quickly.

Took me 70 odd days to have a period after coming off birth control, then 40+ day cycles. 9 months on I have long cycles but they're fairly regular 35-38 days.

I can sympathise because I'm young i two believed I would just snap back and get back to normal immediately and I am frustrated to know my reproductive system isn't working correctly in on day 32 so still waiting patiently good luck ! Id say get an ovulation kit to check when you are ovulated or I you are.
