Struggling TC #2 and DH has low sperm count - any tips?

I'm new to these threads and I don't know all the jargon, so bear with me! DH and I conceived naturally and our DD was born almost 2 years ago. It took us well over a year and we had initial tests and had an appointment through the NHS but thankfully we didn't need it. Tests showed I was OK and I have had regular periods since DD stopped exclusively BF around 8m. Unfortunately DH has low sperm count.

We have been TTC more or less since DD was born, albeit with no AF until 8m, with no luck. I'm devastated each month AF shows up and so many mummies who gave birth the same time as me are pregnant again. Each time I hear news of yet another pregnancy I want to sob, and usually do as soon as I have given my (sincere but jealous) congratulations.

I'm 35 now and obviously can't get NHS help as we have DD. What do I do next - still go and see GP for advice? Also, any good tips to boost sperm? DH is a non-smoker, barely drinks, is fit and wears loose boxers ;-).

Thanks so much in advice for any help/tips xx

Just one question, does you DH take any protein powder for the gym? My BIL and SIL are currently ttc as are me and OH. BIL has told OH that he has been found to have low sperm count and has been made aware by his doctor of the link between these protein powders and low fertility. Maybe not relevant to you, but on the off chance it is thought I would let you know. BIL also already has children.

Thanks - no, he doesn't but my BIL does and him and my sis are struggling too, so will say to them :-).
