Hi (big wave)
So you clicked on here cos you were looking for me (I'm flattered!) or the title seemed interesting!
I'm aware it doesn't really explain but we are bunch of lovely ladies all TTC and going ever so slightly crazy with it! For more info see our original thread here - www.mumsnet.com/Talk/conception/2412386-TTC-anxious-over-early-pregnancy-possible-symptoms?msgid=56357000#56357000

We are symptoms spotters extrodinaire - you name it we've had it, real and/or imagined Confused
We are here to help, we are all supportive, we laugh, rant, cry, joke, rage, smile, and comfort together. Be you a lurker or poster (established or new) then you are very welcome here. We only have a few rules:

  1. No judgement - we all lead different lives and have different standards and that is fine. You wanna get wasted everyday of TWW, that's fine. You wanna abstain completely, that's fine. We need support, not judgement.
  2. No feeling stupid - we've all had those months where we definitely think we are pg 110% convinced and then AF turns up, don't feel bad about it, it happens. Also we all have different levels of knowledge so no question is stupid apart from the one you don't ask.
  3. On this thread there is no such thing as TMI - we are all adults and we all know how miraculous and amazing... and downright disgusting our bodies can be, it's fine. Share what you want, we will not be fazed.

So that's it, jump in and FX'd for all my lovelies xx

Kitten I wouldn't take that personally, men don't think the same way that we do! Smile

Don't give up because of one stupid GP. Hopefully you'll find someone else more helpful and even if you don't, there's nothing to say you can't conceive naturally (eventually)!!

MrsKittenPie · 08/09/2015 19:40

mummy - no I won't, men are rubbish like that, although I did remind him mid morning today!! Hmm
Thank you, you never know I suppose!

Pirsy1 · 08/09/2015 20:14

Prty - sorry about AF ... I hope you've got a nice glass of wine tonight.

Kitten I think you should def try to go back and see your original doctor who sounds like they were much more understanding. I would have thought that if you are over 35 and have been trying for 14 months then they should be doing some tests / referring you. Maybe the first doctor can give some clarity on this. I think a lot depends on the GP that you happen to see and their experience in dealing with TTC stuff ... including personal experiences I'm sure.

Stripes1983 · 08/09/2015 20:31

kitten fx your other Dr is more understanding and sensitive - we're hormonal at the best of times without people like that !
AF is out of the way for me so back on DTD , trying to stay away from the OPKs this time though and try and be more calm! Had a bit of a rough day with my fur-baby ( dog) she had a seizure this morn and so that shook us both up as she has never had one before - fine now and spent the day next to me on the sofa! God knows how it must be with a baby I was crying over my dog !

SharyBobbins · 08/09/2015 21:08

Urgh period pain!! OH just came over for a cuddle- told him to leave me alone for a bit because I'm too tetchy. I hate being a woman sometimes :(

Ellamorella · 08/09/2015 21:41

prty so sorry about the arrival of AF!! I agree with everyone, it calls for large quantities of your chosen comfort food/drink, and then power up for next month! We'll be your "bridge over troubled water"!!

kitten your GP sounds RUBBISH!! I'm sure she's not following NHS procedure!! You can actually look it up via PALS I think: www.nhs.uk/chq/pages/1082.aspx?CategoryID=68 and you can also make a complaint about your GP too!! You shouldn't have to put up with that sort of treatment! Grrrr!!

In my news, i'm around 10 DBAFD and have been doing my BBT this month. And looking at my chart this morning, I was worried my temp hasn't gone high enough to indicate ovulation! I'm hoping it will go up more tomorrow... But I'm trying to keep up the positive vibes and visualization from the book I'm reading (which I still highly recommend!! - The Baby Making Bible). Crap title, but a nice, positive book with great tips to give you positive, natural ideas and actions to help boost your fertility! You feel like you're taking things into your own hands, which feels empowering!

Ellamorella · 08/09/2015 21:42

Oops! Long post again!!

SharyBobbins · 08/09/2015 21:54

Ella- you seem to really rate that book, I'm genuinely thinking of giving it a read. Far too often my mindset is negative, I'm fed up and feeling like it's never going to happen for me (I'm sure everyone else feels the same). Do you think it'll help? I need something to help me feel like I'm in control :(

Ellamorella · 08/09/2015 22:03

shary I think that's why I like it. A, it makes you feel like your doing a positive step to help B, it doesn't feel medicalised. And it's all about helping you feel positive! Could be good if you're feeling like that! I was really feeling like that last month. But after having a good chat with a friend, and reading that book - plus this board of course! - I am feeling more positive this cycle!

I do feel like I have to say that I realized after buying and liking the book, that I work for the publisher of the book!! But I promise you, I'm not some weird plant on this thread by the publisher. I just genuinely like the book :-)

Annie2311 · 08/09/2015 22:30

Agree with the others kitten, definitely get a second opinion. It's so upsetting and unhelpful to have that kind of response from someone who's meant to be there to help.

Nothing yet prty. I have such stretchy twingey tummy feelings I went to the loo about 70 times at work today, each time with a tampon in my pocket ready for AF cos I was so convinced. She'll probably turn up in the middle of the night for added fun!

LittleAindy · 08/09/2015 22:56

Fx'd she stays away, Annie!

Ella I'm loving all this positivity. That book sounds great!

Shary it's just utter crap isn't it. Even when not TTC, AF just completely dictates those days. Maybe Ella's book is the way to go - a bit of comfort at least? It's going to replace my OPK next month!

Stripes is your dog OK now?? Poor thing Flowers

PrtyPsn · 09/09/2015 07:15

ella I love Simon & Garfunkel :)
stripes poor doggy :( any better ?
aindy sorry to hear OPKs not for you - I couldn't get along with them either.
I've thought about temping but I very rarely have unbroken sleep so worry the results won't be accurate plus it's another thing to obsess over Confused
The most horrendous AF, think I'm gonna ruin at least 3 sets of bed sheets, it's like my body's revenge - the more I think I might be pg during cycle the worse my AF is!!!

OP posts:
SharyBobbins · 09/09/2015 07:27

Prty I've been temping this cycle & as soon as it got to the key weeks (ovulation & after) I started having broken sleep which is really unlike me. I'm waking up at each night between 2am-4am and my brain is kicking in straight away saying "check the time, if it's been 3 hours then take your temperature because there might not be another chunk of sleep before your alarm" (which is set for 6am). It's really stressing me out as it makes such a difference to the temperature readings. For instance at 4am this morning the temp was 36.3 which is on the coverline, but last night when I had a rare night of sleeping through and woke up at 5.40am my temp was 36.6 so my chart is all over the place!!

neetie1 · 09/09/2015 07:27

Morning guys, well have decided not to POAS..got to Tesco last night and they only had the expensive ones so went to Co op and they were the same so figured maybe I should just leave it. If I was then testing next time will show me further along so no problems. Hubby is being very good still and DTD every two days and not using OPK at all.
stripes so know what you mean about dogs I have two labs and I get so upset if anything happens to me lol

LittleAindy · 09/09/2015 08:07

Oh Neetie that's very controlled of you! But I agree, the expensive ones are ridiculous. I've only ever bought one once when AF was almost 3 weeks OD.

Shary - temping sounds very stressful. Do you think you will continue with it?

Prty - so sorry to hear about bad AF Sad, I can fully empathise with the tsunami flow. Yeah I think I could easily get thrown off track if I only used OPKs, with all these light lines. Today I woke up with EWCM yet still not a +ve OPK. Ovia of course has rejigged everything and I feel better that I may not have missed my peak after all. Early night tonight then!

Annie2311 · 09/09/2015 08:29

Holy shit. BFP!

OH knew I was due yesterday and wanted me to test last night but I managed to calm him down. Did two tests this morning at his insistence and both BFP. Cannot believe it. I had all the same symptoms as before normal AF except I had itchy boobs this time.

Go and buy ConceivePlus lube! That's the only thing we did differently this month.

Gobsmacked.

Ellamorella · 09/09/2015 09:24

annie that's AMAZING news! Huge congrats to you!! What a roller coaster you've been through this month!! Can you remind me of your stats? Hooray hooray for you! X

MrsFlowers82 · 09/09/2015 09:28

OMG!! This thread is so lucky! Congrats Annie! This is also makes me feel really excited for next fertile window as I stocked up on PreSeed - I think this is essentially the same thing as ConceivePlus??? Anyway, amazing news!

Hugs and cake and carbs to anyone having a rough time of it right now xxx

LittleAindy · 09/09/2015 11:28

Wow Annie!!! Get those pics up!!! Flowers

MummyBex1985 · 09/09/2015 13:17

Huge congrats Annie!!

Flowers

Note to self that pre seed is the way forward...!

Annie2311 · 09/09/2015 14:26

Thanks ladies. I feel so flipping lucky.

Stats are: Age 33 TTC #1 Cycle 5

Came off Microgynon in April. Used ConceivePlus the first time this month (put it on OH- if you get me). Haven't temped or used OPKs. Have bought a moonstone crystal and had my legs up in the air for ages in previous months (neither of which worked). Continued drinking and exercising in TWW all five months. There's certainly no magic formula but that's what's worked for me. I know that everyone on here will find their perfect baby making recipe soon. (I'm terrified that sounds patronising but I don't know how else to word it.)

This thread is an amazing place and I'm going to keep on quietly reading until you all have BFPs. Here are my piss sticks...

Prty's Gang and The Festival of Foof Fun (when they not being cray cray!)
SharyBobbins · 09/09/2015 16:19

Wow congratulations Annie!!! Amazing news!!

I have conceive plus, it's not worked for me this cycle (evidenced by period pain!) but I'll keep using it! Sorry to be graphic but could you clarify the 'put it on OH bit'?! How much did you use? And where exactly?!

Finally got my hormonal bloods back. They were "hiding behind" my thyroid results apparently. My progesterone was 33.1 and testosterone 2.4 which are apparently both normal. I'd heard over 30 means you've definitely ovulated?

On my blood form it said they were testing for follicle stimulation hormone and lutenising hormone too but this wasn't mentioned in the results today. Is this a separate test or part of the progesterone/testosterone test does anyone know?

PrtyPsn · 09/09/2015 16:57

Yes yes yes!!!!! Go on annie!!! So bloody pleased for you :)

Stripes1983 · 09/09/2015 17:28

Wow another !! Huge Congrats Annie !!
prty so sorry your having a bad time of it - let's hope this is your last one for a while !:)
shary I don't really know about what they are looking for but be good to know for when I get mine done !
My pooch is ok today , she might have epilepsy or it might be a one off so just got to hope it's the latter - thanks for all that asked :)

Annie2311 · 09/09/2015 18:06

Thanks guys! This is the lucky thread to be part of!

shary Big blob of lube in your hand (like a ??2 coin size), wrap hand around willy and spread liberally (he'll like this), DTD! Hope that's clearer/not too graphic!

( Leaves giant Cadbury's selection box on floor for everyone )
