Hi, I'm in my first month of TTC and just wondering how long it took you to get pregnant after coming off the pill ? Thanks

Hello! I was lucky enough to get pregnant straight away after stopping the pill in May! I didn't even get a period, and my dating scan showed I was the same number of weeks as I would have been if the first day off the pill had been first day of last period! Was a bit of a shock, but goes to show it can happen pretty quick! Also, I'm 35 so thought it would take longer! Good luck, hope you get your BFP soon xx

I got pregnant immediately after coming off the pill. My LO is now 2.

Hi thanks for the replies was thinking it would take a while as I've been on the pill for years. I guess everyone's different though !

took me 4 months to conceive, but wasn't trying for the first month just allowing cycle to regulate; ended in mc then conceived again 2 months later (currently 8w), so pill didn't seem to affect me too much, but I know it takes a while for some peoples cycles to return to normal and be regular

good luck!

Hi I'm on the mini pill cerezzette the one you take every day how soon could I conceive after stopping taking it I was told it could be straight away but I'm desperately wanting to conceive a little boy so I'm thinking I should prob wait to have my cycle return first maybe before I try I've also read to conceive a boy have inter course as soon as your ovulating is this true? Also that you can but DIY kits to tell you when this is happening and when it's the best time ttc thanks for any advice sorry post was long x

Hi linda there's a chapter on choosing the sex of your baby in the book Taking Charge of your Fertility but that seemed to be the gist of it and for a girl to time intercourse as close to ovulation as possible.

Sunshinegirl2015 · 18/08/2015 21:29

Congrats mrschatty!

Thanx for the advice Hun so if you want a boy you ttc on the day you ovulate is that right?

badg3r · 18/08/2015 22:05

Took me 6 weeks. Apparently some women have a fertility surge when they stop. Good luck!

Sunshinegirl2015 · 18/08/2015 22:11

linda it's called the shettles method if you want to search it but yet the theory is to time intercourse for a boy as close to ovulation as possible (not girl as I wrote before) as the male sperm don't live as long and swim fast where as girls sperm can live longer but are slower swimmers so if trying for a girl you would aim for 2-3days before ovulation. No proof that it works it's just a theory but people say they've tried it and it worked.

Hope you are happy with girl or a boy though whichever you are lucky enough to have x

QforCucumber · 18/08/2015 22:12

Mine was 2nd cycle after 2 years on yasnin and 4 years on depo injection before that. Currently 10 weeks.
linda it's the man's sperm which decides the sex, so in reality you don't have much of a control over it.

Linda14evans · 19/08/2015 07:57

Hi thanks for the info guys I would be happy with either boy or girl as long as the baby was healthy that's the important thing x

Oysterbabe · 19/08/2015 08:20
