Septate / Heart-Shaped Uterus

Hello Smile

I mostly lurk on this area but I was hoping I could get some wisdom after an internal scan I've had today please.

TTC #1 child for 17 months with one chemical pregnancy in month 3. Absolutely nothing since then so have gone through the rounds of tests with doctor and nothing (yet) has shown up on either me or DH.

We've now been referred to the fertility clinic at our hospital and we went this morning for some blood tests etc.

Anyway, also had an internal scan and the sonographer commented that my uterus is heart-shaped with a septum. Obviously I have read everything google has to read about it since then but I also wondered if anyone here has had a similar shape?

There are a few threads on it but not many that I can see.

Thanks in advance.

Yes, I've a septate/bicornuate uterus (multiple scanners can't agree).

No trouble conceiving (so far), but struggle to hold on to them.

I have a bicornuate uterus and carried 2 DCs to term.

First one got stuck in the breech position so I had CS but the second one managed to turn and I had a VBAC.

I hope things work out for you x

Know the feeling. I've one DD who came at 37 weeks. Miscarried a singleton and twins last year. This year DS was stillborn - we're not sure why but think it was an abruption. Not sure if having a dodgy uterus predisposes to dodgy placental implantation, which increases the risk of an abruption. Who knows. Good luck Flowers

Are you the same poster who asked about this yesterday?

I have a bicornuate/heart shaped uterus.
I had no problems conceiving, dd1 was a few days early, and dd2 was somewhere between 4 and 6 weeks early. I was told that premature birth was likely with a bicornuate uterus.
DD2 was conceived with the coil in one half of the uterus and the baby in the other half.

I have a bicornuate uterus. Only found out during planned cs for breech baby. All through my pregnancy, I had felt as though I had a door in the middle of my uterus as the baby had been in one side only. Turns out she was! Cord was three times round her neck and the septum meant she couldn't turn to go head down.

After her birth, I got pg with DS and had a vbac. No issues during pg. V odd.

Good luck to you x

Hi I had a septum which was resectioned. I had been struggling to conceive and it was discovered after having laparoscopy. I had always thought something wasn't right has had always suffered horrendous period pains. I went on to have 3 dc but was told I was always going to have c sections

Hey there.
I have a bicornuate uterus which was diagnosed during an early scan with baby number 2.
I've had two missed miscarriages and two normal ish pregnancies. I had lots of bleeding in the first trimester with the two successful pregnancies but no bleeding whatsoever with my mmc's (one didn't make it past week 8 and the other stopped growing in week 5) but I didn't know until my 12 week scans :(
I only carried to 36+3 weeks with each (the EXACT same gestation with both which was weird!)
Now pregnant again, fingers crossed I get to my scan in a few weeks and find a heartbeat.
