Uterus Didelphys (two wombs) TTC help....

Hello - I am new here. I have just been diagnosed with uterus didelphys (having two wombs). My husband and I have been TTC for over a year with no luck and went for an ultra-sound yesterday which identified the problem. After doing some research on the web, I have found many contradictory articles saying that it both affects fertility and that it doesn't and that if you do get pregnant you can't carry to term and that you can. I think what I really need is a specialist. Does anybody else here have this condition (it's very rave, only 1 in 3000) - and by any chance can anybody recommend a specialist in the London area? I will pay if I have too....

I was originally diagnosed with this, but in fact have a slightly different condition in that I have a septate in my uterus and fact went all the way down through cervix to vagina. Only found out after I had DC1.

I was told by gynae (when they thought didelphyis) if you are going to have uterine abnormality best to have 2 uteruses then having a lot of other abnormalities.

I have had 2 children. Second was 5 weeks early (ran out of room common with uterine abnormalities). Pregnant with DC3. DS2 took a year to concieve, but that's because I have endometriosis. I was told women with uterine abnormalities have higher chance of conditions like endometriosis. So the septates uterus not caused problems for fertility.

I use to see Roger Marwood in London. Harley Street. Straight talking, but very good.

Thanks Duckstar - that is very kind and helpful. I have heard that Uterus Didelphys is the most common mis-diagnosis for uterine abnormalities, so I definitely want to get checked again by a specialist to make sure that is what it is! I will look up Roger Marwood. Encouraging that uterine abnormalities needn't affect fertility...
