question for a friend??

My bestfriend (I know it sounds lame, but it really isn't me!) has just come off the pill to try for a baby, and since Monday has had excruciating stomach pains. How long does it take for the body to regulate itself after the pill? Could these be ovulation cramps? Is there any such thing? It's 3 weeks since her period, is it possible to ovulate later than the normal 14 days??

I have posted this on her behalf, but she will be joining mumsnet soon I think. Anyone with any experience or any advice to share would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

at your lame comment. We believe it's for a friend! tell your friend (sorry just kidding) good luck ttc.

Has she seen her GP about the pains? How bad are they? I have read that some women experience pains when they ovulate. So it could be? Can't really offer any advice other than to talk to her GP.

Firstly, Yes you can get Ovulation pain's/cramps, lots of women do, ovulation can happen any time in your cycle and more so if your hormones have gone mad ( i.e. came off contraception and so on), and it can take 3-6 months for your body to settle down after taking the pill! hope this help's!
But tell her to go and get medical advice if it carries on or gets to pianful!

I ovulated in August on day 9, in September day 12, October day 5 still on AF!, November day 14. Every one is different and every cycle is different, sometime I get cramps sometime I don't!
Hope this help's!
