but there is a theory that male sperm last longer or what....

OP posts:
lulumama · 22/11/2006 21:22

theory- male sperm swin faster, die quicker, female sperm slower, but stronger..so closer to ovualtion for a boy

although it is only a theory!

misdee · 22/11/2006 21:22

iwas going to say saturday......

lemonaid · 22/11/2006 21:22

According to one popular theory (Shettles), as close to the time of ovulation as possible. The theory is that male sperm are faster but female sperm last longer.

I have a vague recollection that there's another popular gender-selection method that says the opposite...

lulumama · 22/11/2006 21:23

i wouldn't pin your hopes on it though!

sasa15 · 22/11/2006 21:23

ok...thank you lulumama

I've already a boy....I do think they are really nice.......
is it worthy to change and have a girl?
What do you think....?
oh is it nice to have boys...?

OP posts:
handlemecarefully · 22/11/2006 21:33

It's bloody lovely having girls (as it is having boys) - says contented mum of both.

JoolsToo · 22/11/2006 21:36

any day between Sunday and Saturday

Wordsmith · 22/11/2006 21:39

Wednesday

shazronnie · 22/11/2006 21:40

IME when drunk - although I have no DD to prove the opposite.

edie123 · 22/11/2006 21:44

Is this a joke?

handlemecarefully · 22/11/2006 21:47

Well if it is edie would you kindly point me in the direction of the punch line?

by mistake.........

lulumama · 22/11/2006 21:50

'worthy to change?'

IMO - you get what you are given, if you are lucky enough to get pregnant and have a healthy baby, choosing the gender is not really a choice to make, or can make IMO

never mind girls/boys being nice..they are human beings! little people in their own right and more to them than gender..

sasa15 · 22/11/2006 21:51

oh yeah I do know that...for sure...
but if you could choose something....why not try?

OP posts:
edie123 · 22/11/2006 21:51

Sorry maybe im just being sensitive, just thought it sounded a bit weird. I guess if someone already has boys then they may think it nice to have a girl too. I want either!!!!

I agree Lulumama...Plus I don't think doing it at a certain time of the month is exactly fullproof...

sweetkitty · 22/11/2006 21:57

I conceived DD1 on CD11, DD2 on CD19 I had a regular 28 day cycle too. Totally unpredictable these babies as much as I would love a boy next time you do get what you are given that's teh best part of it.

sasa15 · 22/11/2006 22:04

I love surprises...
I didn't want to know the sex for the first...
but I guess I can also use the same clothes...
but that could be also boring...
so will see.........cool!

Boy - on the day of ovulation, and not for at least a week before that

Girl - up to 5/6 days before ovulation, then stop.

Tricky part is knowing when you ovulate!!

Worked for me both times tho (not actively planned just knew iyswim)
