Faint positive not getting any stronger, am going bit POAS mad!!

Hi there,

I'm after a bit of advice please as I'm going a bit test crazy here!!!!!

We've been trying to conceive for about 8 months for our second child (first time round took us 1.5 years) and I was due my period yesterday or today. I think I ovulated about 13 days ago.

I took a test on an Internet cheapie on Thursday afternoon and got a really really faint line but you could see it (as could DH). Took a First Response ER test that evening and it came up with a definite (but still faint) line. Then yesterday morning with first morning wee I did another FRER and got the same faintness of a line which worried me as I had expected it to be much darker. Last night I took another internet cheapie and that came up with an even fainter line than very first test. Because I want this so much I sent DH out to buy some more tests from supermarket and did a Clearblue plus which seemed to come up with another faint but definite line.
As I'm desperately trying to put myself out of the agony of not knowing and not wanting to get too excited about this I popped to Boots this morning and bought a couple of their own brand ones - at lunchtime I took one of these but the line was so faint you couldn't really see it unless shining under a light and looking really closely! So I'm getting very stressed and concerned that my hcg levels seemingly aren't increasing and after fair amount of googling am worried it could be a chemical pregnancy or something.
I've still got one more Boots test and a Clearblue digital that I've been holding off using til prob tomorrow morning as they are expensive and have already bought so many now, eeek!

Does anyone have any experience of faint tests or chemical pregnancy who could give me their thoughts please?

I know I should just step away from the tests (and Google) and leave it a couple of days but I just can't stop thinking about this so I've come to seek refuge from mumsnet instead!!!

A line is a line. I really wouldn't worry. And stop peeing on sticks. In the nicest possible way, it won't change the outcome.

Thanks for your responses, I feel a little calmer after what you've said - I know I should stop worrying and stop testing but that doesn't seem to be able to make me change my ways ;)
I've just taken a pic of all the tests earliest one at top, bottom one that I did this lunchtime. I think the lines in the middle have got darker as time has gone on, they were fainter 10 mins after testing than they look now! Just want a really strong positive to allow myself to believe it I think!

They're not faint!!! Mine weren't that strong when I tested and I'm now nearly 30 weeks. Congrats on your bfp :)

And when I tested I was 6 days overdue AF!

Just to echo the above - they are most definitely not faint lines, they look strong to me. Very unlikely they will ever be as strong as the test line so don't let that throw you off.

Those lines are not faint, step away from the tests! They are very clear and strong!

FWIW with my son I got very dark lines from the beginning - no faint lines ever but with my current pregnancy they never got very dark at all, they were quite faint. I am 25 weeks along now and so far all looks good! So don't panic

Thank you all, you've definitely put my mind to rest a little bit (can't guarantee there won't be another test taken tomorrow though, hehe!!)
I didn't realise that you wouldn't get a line as strong as control line MummyBex, think that was what was concerning me so that's really helpful. With our first pregnancy 3 years ago I had some implantation bleeding that I assumed was AF so didn't test til I was probably 6/7 weeks and so never had these am I / aren't I concerns then!

Hello OP -congratulations ! I got really excited looking at all those lovely lines!
I didn't ever use the Internet sticks but can assure you my very feint line (DC1) was much fainter than any of those and my tests (2) for DC2 were very similar to your early response. They came up quickly and I was completely convinced immediately! Gave never had a test come up like the control line even on my OPKs
I think as others have said its normal to worry but more and more tests won't change anything - you are pregnant.

Definitely pregnant - I was expecting to see a barely discernible line but all your tests have definite positives :) Congratulations :)

The FR are great lines! And it took a week for my internet cheapie ones to get anything other than a faint line!

Uhm "faint"? I don't think so. You're definitely upduffed. Stop wasting money on tests and put it aside for future tena pads!
