Long cycle since coming off the pill. Should I be worried?

Hi, ttc #1. Total newbie. Been on microgynon for almost a decade. Had two full cycles since coming off the pill and currently mid way through cycle 3. I'm worried my cycle hasn't got back to normal yet. Cycle 1 was 41 days, cycle 2 was 47 days. I'm now using opk this cycle and 16days in an no sign of ovulation yet. Pre-pill I was regular within a 26-32 day range. Should I be worried?

No, it can take a number of months for your cycle to settle down. I'm 8 months off the pill and have only had 5 periods in that time. My cycle is slowly settling into 35 days ish with ov around cd25. Annoying but pretty normal. Fx for you

Normal! I was on the pill for 12 years and my first cycle was 51 days (I got pg the second month).

Agree, totally normally. Had three long cycles of 40ish days. It's a annoying as you want to crack on but ignore the long cycles, dtd often and keep tracking with cheap opks. It'll work itself out and you could get lucky.

Thanks for the reassurance. Am I likely to be ovulating despite the long cycles?

I'm really glad you posted this DelphiniumStar. I've had 4 full cycles now, the last 3 have been 43 days so I'm guessing this is the cycle length I'm settling in to. I bought a clearblue kit which indicated peak fertility 33 days in. I'm sure you will still ovulate even though your cycle is long. I was relieved to see I'd ovulated especially as from what I've read 42+ is classed as "irregular". Recently bought the clearblue advanced fertility monitor which I'm now regretting as it says it works on cycles between 21-42 days. Wish I'd stuck with the standard digital ovulation tests instead of panic buying and spending over £100 on the monitor!

Sorry I should add this is my first time ttc too after over 8 years on the pill. Feels like we've been trying a lot longer than we have because it's 7 calendar months but only 4 cycles!
