IVF - medical reasons

Hello

New on here - just wondering if anyone has experience of ICSI/IVF for medical reasons rather than fertility?
We already have a 2 yr old son but my husband is going on a drugs trial for his MS which means no more natural conception. We have banked sperm but cos of chemo he's already had motility is low.
We are waiting to hear from hospital whether we can have ICSI on the NHS - just wanted some info really from others as all of the info we have seen so far relates to IVF for infertility. Is treatment any different for medical reasons?
Any info/ personal experience much appreciated
Thanks
