Anyone else with a longish cycle wait a while before testing?

My cycle runs between 31-44 days and averages 39. I'm currently 8 days late! If I was this would be my second. Think I was almost 14 days over before I tested on DD.

I decided when I started TTC her not to test until I was pretty late as my cycle has always been a bot off and I didn't want to be getting my hopes up every month. I was 10 days late 3 months ago and I tested but it was negative.

I'm going to test on Saturday as my patience is wearing thin now! I don't really have any symptoms but I didn't with DD either.

Anyone else understand where I'm coming from?

Before I got PG with DC2 my cycle were anything between 28 and 38 days with the odd 80 day cycle thrown in for good measure. I'd normally test on about CD35 as that was my average and then test about a week later
