Peardrop - age 33, TTC cycle #9, DS is 26 months (stopped bf soon to be 4 months ago). Af returned when DS 14months, currently on CD14 and have had 4 flashing smileys. Praying for a static smiley tomorrow! Dangling legs in air!

Need your thoughts please Smile I dtd on Saturday night and Monday night (last night) because I was aiming to go for EOD. However, now that it looks like I might peak tomorrow do I dtd tonight or save it for tomorrow? I don't know how much to push DH. I know we can't dtd on Thursday night as I'm out. I don't think we could do tonight and tomorrow. What would you do? Dtd tonight and tomorrow or just tomorrow?

peardrop2 · 01/09/2015 18:52

I suppose we could try tonight and if it fails I know we've got tomorrow Blush

Lea - I'm so sorry you don't think you're ovulating. Have you got ewcm? You could be ovulating late like me? Do you have any idea whether ovulating late is normal for you?

OP posts:
peardrop2 · 01/09/2015 18:56

Lea - also please don't let my flashing smiley get you down because I really have no idea whether I will actually ovulate. I've had months of flashing smileys so this could just be another one!!! Just saying that because I know if I was in your shoes I would be Envy of a flashing smiley!!

Ds cuddled a 3 week old today. The mum told me that her own son is so disinterested. Great Sad

It was super super cute though seeing him being so gentle with this baby. Made me so proud Star

I never used to really track my cycle before DS, just start date which was always regular 33 days. I have had Ewcm though seems to be more milky (sorry for the TMI) so that is making me think my body has given up trying to Ov, and I know I haven't Ov'd because of the temping.

That's sweet about DS having a cuddle with the 3 won baby, so cute. Was he all gentle?

As for the DtD question, if probably just do tomorrow, if you Dtd yesterday they'll (spermies) be waiting for the egg anyway, then more tomorrow. Supposedly healthier sperm Eod...

Leamice · 01/09/2015 19:24

Only just saw your last post that your DS was gentle, stupid phone! Very cute, I would of got all teary eyed seeing my DS with a baby lol

peardrop2 · 01/09/2015 20:06

Lea - my ewcm was more milky a couple of days ago. It's good that you're not giving up dtd yet Smile
I would have been more crushed by Ds cute actions but my mum recently reminded me that it is highly unlikely that Ds would be so cute and cuddly to his own baby sibling who lives with him 24/7 Grin So I try and picture that in my head before getting carried away!

Lea, sorry to hear that you don't think you've ovulated. Is it a definite no from your chart or just ambiguous? Can understand wanting a break from charting, as long as you dtd whenever you see ewcm you'll still have a chance to catch any eggs. Fx you get some answers at your gyno apt soon.

Pear, if it was me I would just have a break tonight and start afresh tomorrow, but obviously if that stresses you out to much then that would defeat the purpose! Sounds like your DS is lovely and will be the perfect big brother in the near future Grin

My DS on the other hand was terribly jealous when I held a newborn today and I had to pass the baby back and give DS a cuddle and milk Hmm Couldn't resist and took an ov test after lunch and got a strong line but not positive.. I do seem to have lots of cm but couldn't possibly be ovulating now right?

peardrop2 · 01/09/2015 21:25

April - stay away from the OV sticks!! They're so confusing at BFp time! Have you not got any hpts?

OP posts:
ThatsNotEvenAWord · 01/09/2015 21:28

My DS hates it if I so much as look at another child. I've bought him a baby dolly thing to play with, partly to prepare him and partly cos he's a boy and I want to annoy people. So far he's not been very gentle Grin

aprilrainshowers · 01/09/2015 21:28

Pear, you are probably right. I have plenty of ic hpts but was going to wait for fmu this time...

aprilrainshowers · 01/09/2015 21:30

Thats, glad it is not just my DS who gets jealous. He does have a 'baby' that he likes to cuddle but think in the event of getting pregnant would have a lot of preparing to do...

ispyfispi · 01/09/2015 23:31

Lea plenty of people get pregnant without tracking ovulation so as long as you're dtd regularly you have a decent chance without the stresses of charting.
Gosh April that sounds promising, eek!
Pear, if I were you I'd dtd in the morning ????

aprilrainshowers · 02/09/2015 01:31

I really needed to wee at 1am so thought I'd just take a test. Looks like a bfn, though after the full 8 minutes I may have seen the faintest of pink smudges but could equally have wished it there. Do you think there is any point testing later today or should I wait another 24-48 hours? I feel I really should have it more together! I didn't test before my missed period with DS but then hadn't discovered ic's either...

peardrop2 · 02/09/2015 07:53

April - if you could drink less and have concentrated wee then I would be tempted to test again this afternoon or Thursday morning. If you can wait until the morning then that's best but I know how it feels to wait. Poor you! Not long to wait now until you find out either way. Fx!!! What dpo do you think you're now?

ISPy - sadly he went to work early!

So, ladies you were right. I have peaked today and show static smileys on all sticks (cb purple and pink). The ic opk showed two dark lines straight away. So much for CB giving me days of warning!!! I only got 1 day warning which is so unusual for me. Normally I have days and days (13 to be precise) of flashing smileys. So it looks like I am ovulating now so I will book my blood test for next week. I didn't dtd last night because I was very tired and was asleep by 10pm and DH wasn't feeling very well. DH might try and get home for nap time or we will go to bed early tonight.

Pear, thanks for your advice. I just took a test, urine looked more concentrated and I got a faint second line on a different brand of test. Guess that is a positive though not a very big fat one! Will maybe get a digital to test with tomorrow. I am treating the news cautiously at the moment as think I am only 12 dpo, but I am glad that it has not all been in my head. In any case I think I have this lucky thread to thank, and all of you lovely ladies for cheering me through the tww Flowers

Also Pear, if it helps we only dtd around 12-16 hours after I got a positive ov test (and around 4 days before) so you should still be covered if you don't manage until tonight.

Leamice · 02/09/2015 08:12

Congratulations April!! Great news! :)

And great news about the Static smiley Pear!

I got up at amore normal hour this morning and temp is back up... I need to throw the thermometer out!

peardrop2 · 02/09/2015 08:29

Great news April! How exciting for you Smile Also, thanks for giving me some hope! I always panic that I will miss the egg and I always have to remind myself that the static smiley is an indication of the egg releasing soon (not that it's landed already).

It would be great if some of this luck could rub off on me now Wink It's about time after 10 months of being on this thread!!!!

Lea - temping is so had. I only managed 1.5 cycles and then I threw my thermometer away because I couldn't handle the extra hassle and second guesses.

ToElleWithIt · 02/09/2015 09:18

Oh April that's great news. Congratulations!

Pear glad you got your solid smiley. Sounds like the timing will work for you (presuming you managed to DTD yesterday). That's lovely about your DS and the baby.

Lea - hopefully you get your gyno appointment soon and that they can shed some light.

That'snotevenaword - we have a baby doll too....DS drags it around by it's leg...gulp He's gently with real babies, but gets jealous if I hold them.

Officially in the TWW here. Only symptom so far is tiredness, but I think that's just a symptom of having a 16 month old who doesn't sleep well!

ispyfispi · 02/09/2015 09:42

Yay April! I didn't really believe it until the ClearBlue Digi said 'pregnant'. Hope to see you in the graduate thread, it's very quiet over there! And Pear it sounds like your cycle is settling down and I'm sure the good luck will find you shortly. I should probably stop posting here now but I miss you guys! Good Luck everyone else on all your various ttc journeys x

peardrop2 · 02/09/2015 15:28

I dragged DH back from work early and I am now dangling legs in the air. I'm actually looking forward to the 2ww and just taking a break from over thinking everything. It always lasts 4 days and then I go crazy over thinking again Hmm

That's brilliant news April excited to see the first bfp since joining, here's to many more Wine

aprilrainshowers · 02/09/2015 19:10

Thanks everyone, I haven't taken another test yet. Couldn't bring myself to fork out for a digital test so bought some Sainsbury's brand tests for tomorrow, hopefully they are okay!

Hope you have a relaxing few days Pear and really hope it is your lucky cycle.

Ispy if the tests keep coming out positive I will definitely join the graduate thread Smile

Lea, maybe your cycle is going better than your temps suggest - have my fx for you.

ToElle, exciting that you are in the tww. I have felt really tired, the sort of tired that actually forces you to rest, the last little while so hopefully it is a good sign for you.

aprilrainshowers · 03/09/2015 06:46

Result came up a clear positive this morning. DH and I can't quite believe it as had to try so much harder/longer for DS (almost 2 years). Part of me is terrified about changing my relationship with DS but also very happy and grateful. Just hoping it is all okay, I am such a worrier during pregnancy..

Hope everyone else is doing okay? Won't be able to help myself checking in and seeing how you are all doing, and sending lots of good wishes for a bfp.
