Reinstating the gin deck from a previous bus for AF arrivals, and stocking up on pineapple juice and Brazil nuts, fx for lots of BFPs this month.

Hi Banana. Hopefully your gp is right and your results were just the pill. Fab news about ovulating. Fx that you only need clomid and for a speedy BFP. I've been reading about soy. Think I'm getting a little obsessed with the supplements Smile

Mummyofonesofar · 21/07/2015 07:29

Welcome banana I will add your stats to our list later. Fx for you that the next scan is less scary and you continue to ov due to loads of self picked drugs on your own and get your bfp soon.

kir sorry for BFN Hun. It is twerly still. Fx for the weekend!

Ah it was the lovely Giddy who drew that gorgeous picture. We used to fill threads in 2 days too!

Kirjava · 21/07/2015 08:41

Brown spotting so think AF is on its way and that's me out. Also means I only have 9 day lp.

auf and others - help! What should I be doing?

Nomio230 · 21/07/2015 09:29

Kir, I have a 9 day LP too & the only thing that has worked for me is progesterone suppositories. I had to go private to get them, but it was worth it.

Clomid is supposed to lengthen LP, but didn't for me. I also tried B6, but that made no difference. I think soy works for some people, so might be worth a go.

Welcome, Banana. I hope your Dr was right & your test results were being affected by the pill.

CD12 for me, so CoC has begun!

spinningirl10 · 21/07/2015 09:36

Kir, sorry for brown spotting. I've heard good things about soy with lp.

Hairstylisttoboris · 21/07/2015 09:53

Morning all.
kir sorry for spotting. Rubbish. Sounds like progesterone might be the answer, don't be tempted to prescribe or treat yourself with the prog creams etc. too risky for miscarriage. Go see a doctor.

banana welcome hope you have a short ride with us :)

Aufwiedersehenpetrarch · 21/07/2015 09:57

Jee but you lot natter! I step away for a few hours and it is like a fucking avalanche of chitchat! Grin
Thanks again everyone. beaut no I don't think I've had symptoms. I have a headache today (probably due to working late last night to finish what I didn't finish yesterday while I was daydreaming about my positive test) and had a bit of a backache around 5-8dpo but again that shouldn't be anything. The only really obvious thing I've had was a quick, sharp pain in my uterus at 8dpo which I'd like to believe was implantation. All of five seconds only, nothing before and nothing since. If I wasn't ttc I probably wouldn't even have cared that it happened.
Good question about the eggs and AF for sammy. If you find the answer during gooling do let us know.
spinning Anyway 10dpo is very early for a bfp, there's only a few lucky enough to get a line then Grin feels very lucky indeed
kir did you test yet today? Is that what you're referring to this morning? bites nails
Ooh new toys dizzy. Hope it gives you excellent temping use! :)
Waves at mega
nomio fwiw this cycle I dropped all the supps I had been trying and just took a general multivitamin and the folic acid. Plus the meds of course.
Congrats on the 12week scan Oyster. It's an exciting one. are you checking sex? And 19weeks chops OMG!
Yeah, thanks for the uterus mummy. I like my food to at least look organ-ic. I soo-oo-oo remember that Pug drawing! Fun stuff!
Hallo banana! That's scary stuff! I hope your bloods give you some peace of mind to go with your first ovulation! Flowers

Hairstylisttoboris · 21/07/2015 10:00

chops my lovely nice to see you again. X

Aufwiedersehenpetrarch · 21/07/2015 10:01

Sorry xposted there as I missed an entire page! Blush
I'm so sorry about the spotting kir! Maybe the brown is implantation? grabs at straws?
Some people seem to do well with soy so I think if you want to, try it. It didn't do anything for me in the end. It can change people's ov date too. It looks to me as if it works more for ov purposes than LP purposes. The B6 also didn't help me at all. After so many months of waiting for the short LP to right itself I am so glad I got the progesterone pessaries prescribed. I think quite seriously that that was all it took. Just the one cycle on them to get the lining to stay in place and get a bfp. Remind me how many months you've been ttc kir?

Aufwiedersehenpetrarch · 21/07/2015 10:04

FWIW A good and nice GP can prescribe progesterone if you can give them a good reason for it. You don't always need the fertility clinic referral. My GP was happy to give me progesterone because he felt I made a good argument for it. He also suggested going to the clinic however to check for other things if I didn't want to try for another three months to see if the progesterone made a difference only to find out something else was wrong. Which I then did of course. Point is that the GP thought it was my LP too and was willing to give it me. Might be worth going to knock on a door, kir?

Kirjava · 21/07/2015 10:07

Thanks auf will be my 5th cycle next month but that's only 5 cycles in 8 months. They've been all over the place length wise due to coming off the pill. I know it's not long but I'm so gutted.
Could I be cheeky and ask how you went about getting the pessaries, rough cost etc? I think my dh will want me to wait it out but not sure how much more of this I can stand Sad

Kirjava · 21/07/2015 10:08

X post. Interesting auf. I don't know if my dr would just say come back in January when you've been trying for a year.

Aufwiedersehenpetrarch · 21/07/2015 10:16

kir I don't think the progesterone pessaries are very expensive if you are thinking of going private? In fact, I'm thinking a private GP is maybe £40 for a consult, and they might be more likely to prescribe for you if you know what you are talking about and what you think might help!
You could ask for just one cycle's worth, to be taking it from day of OV until your period starts to see if it will lengthen the LP.
I've looked online and the utrogestan I'm taking seems to cost between £10-£22 depending on which websites came up. So can't be much more if you have a private script and buy from Boots?

nightandthelight · 21/07/2015 10:20

OMG just saw your engagement news Dizzy! Congratulations :) so so happy for you. It's proposal central at the mo what with ibeka too!

Nomio230 · 21/07/2015 10:23

Kir, my appointment was £200 to see the Dr & get a prescription. The Cyclogest pessaries were about £60 from Boots for three months worth, but you can get them cheaper online.

My NHS Dr told me that they are not allowed to prescribe them & even the NHS fertility consultant I saw a couple of weeks ago said she couldn't. She said they are not approved by the NHS for lengthening LP as there is not enough evidence they work.

I think it really depends where you live & whether or not you get a sympathetic doctor. Hopefully yours will be better than mine!

Mummyofonesofar · 21/07/2015 10:57

Nomio enjoy CoC!

Sorry for spotting kir

Auf are you looking forward to going back to your GP all excited with BFP in their hand to thank them for progesterone? Maybe it will make just one GP take our charts seriously! Even if NICE poo poo them!

Hairstylisttoboris · 21/07/2015 11:19

So much of this ttc lark seems to end up with sucess if you have a sympathetic gp and live in the right post code....

Mummyofonesofar · 21/07/2015 11:35

To be fair on them though. The ones that seem mean are just following the national guidelines set centrally. And the ones who seem nice don't give a shit about the evidence.

Hairstylisttoboris · 21/07/2015 11:37

Very wise words mummy

Reluctantnympho · 21/07/2015 11:57

Off on my holidays today, I'll try and keep in touch, but if not see you all in two weeks xx

tessiegirl · 21/07/2015 12:07

Waves to everyone. Just popping on to say congrats to auf and DizzyN! Grin

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 21/07/2015 12:18

Sorry about the spotting *kir.

Reluctant *have a great holiday.

DizzyMerry · 21/07/2015 12:25

Sorry for the spotting kir. Some great advice on here about short lp so fx it works for you.

Sympathetic GP's are few and far between when it comes to fertility issues but it's simply because they don't know much about it. Those who are willing to listen will prescribe meds where they think this will help. One of my friends was prescribed clomid for 3 months by her GP, who also arranged the blood tests to check she had ovulated.

Enjoy CoC nomio

Took my temp this morning and had a rise of 0.5c and it's the highest temp this cycle.

hope you're doing well.

chopsface · 21/07/2015 12:38

Spotting before AF isnt always the end of the world. I got spotting between 2 and 5 days before af every month of our 20+ cycles except 2. One was the bfp month. The other, who knows.

Sorry so many of you old timers are still here, it must be your turn soon Boris nomio the dizzy's spinning and anyone else I've forgotten :-)

Kirjava · 21/07/2015 12:43

Thanks all for your advice and support. The only thing stopping me from breaking down at work and walking out is telling myself it might be implantation bleeding. I know this is unlikely, and I'm clutching at straws, but I have to get through today and get home before I can face the truth.
