Reinstating the gin deck from a previous bus for AF arrivals, and stocking up on pineapple juice and Brazil nuts, fx for lots of BFPs this month.

Have a great holiday nymph

Congratulations Dizzy!

Kirjava Really hoping that it's implantation for you, but if not, we're all here for you.

Welcome Banana I hear you about not knowing where you are in terms of AF. I came off the pill (Marvelon) last November and haven't had a natural AF since then. I've had tests for PCOS, but apparently they have ruled that out Hmm I've had a number of withdrawal bleeds from Norethisterone pills (progesterone), but tests have shown that I'm not ovulating. I was prescribed clomid and took 50mgs, but again, I didn't ovulate. Sad They have increased my dose to 100mgs and I'm just finishing another course of prog (I take the last one tonight) and should have a withdrawal bleed in a few days. Expecting CD1 to be Sunday, then I can start the clomid again. So much of my TTC time has been in limbo, it's been really difficult to stay chipper and hopeful all the time, but this is a really good place for support and advice.

Hairstylisttoboris · 21/07/2015 13:25

Waves at eskimo you alright? X

eskimoflo · 21/07/2015 13:43

Waves back at Boris I'm ok thank you, lovely. Just fed up of waaaaaaaiiiiiitttttinnnngggg! Had a manic week last week for the end of term, but made up for it at the weekend as my brother and sister-in-law came, we went for a meal of Saturday night and then my SIL and I went to a spa on Sunday with two of my best friends, which was lovely! I've been to the dentist this morning and I'm a bit numbed up, which I hate! But otherwise I'm ok. How are you? x x x

bananafish81 · 21/07/2015 14:09

Thanks all - lovely to join you

Wow huge congrats dizzy! Lovely news Smile

Have a fantastic holiday nymph!

Kir keeping fingers crossed for you

Auf skimmed back and read about your BFP. So thrilling to see good news, so happy for you

Mummy of one you're absolutely spot on with the self medicating. I am crap at listening to my own advice as I would always say it's best to ask your dr before taking anything that could affect hormones. If they do in fact have the potential to have any impact then obv not being a medical professional I don't know what I'm messing around with - and Drs are almost certainly right if they advise against taking supplements they don't know about, as the fact is there isn't enough research on most of them to know if they're a bad idea or not.

When I go and see him for the scan and blood test results I will fess up and ask him about the Inositol and soy - although I can't say I'm not tempted to try the soy again this cycle in case it did help me ovulate. I've seen quite a few women on MN with pcos say their consultants have recommended inositol, but obv they aren't my Dr and so I'm def gonna ask mine what he reckons...

Beautician - see above for the fact I can totally relate to getting obsessed with supplements! I'm the sort of person who's normally v sceptical of pseudo science, poo poohing 'alternative therapies' and yet here I am obsessing about studies into the efficacy of every supplement known to man. I'm sure it's a massive waste of money but there's the ttc obsessive voice inside that wants to feel like I'm 'doing' something, given that my body isn't that keen on getting things right! I have to take a load of medication as it is because I have chronic pain from having broken my back many years ago, plus was diagnosed with epilepsy last year (hence why I'm prescribed mega dose of folic acid, cos the epilepsy meds increase the risk of neural tube defects) - so I'm positively rattling as it is!

Mummyofonesofar · 21/07/2015 14:54

Banana it's ok. We all take what we can in a bid to help our ttc journey! Plus making our men take vits - it's the least they can do!!

DizzyMerry · 21/07/2015 15:02

Have a fab holiday nympho.

Welcome banana. We've all been through the phase of taking all vits and supps known to man in a bid to get upduffed and if it works for you then that's awesome and you won't know if you don't try. Sorry you have other health conditions but it seems like it's controlled well with meds.

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 21/07/2015 15:09

Banana I agree with Mummy we all take what we feel necessary. I'm going to try the soy then if I eventually get a BFP it may have been the soy that pushed it along it may not but o can at least say I tried everything.

I actually feel like I'm going to get Af early this cycle. I have a sore tummy really low and I'm windy. All symptoms before Af although it's due Sunday anyway. I'm usually 31 days like clockwork since things settled down after coming off the pill. It could be all the food I've been eating as I start slimming world tomorrow so I thought I'd squeeze in a last few naughty calories Grin

bananafish81 · 21/07/2015 16:23

Beauty, Dizzy, Mummy - exactly! That’s completely how I feel, great to get reassurance from other TTC —obsessive loonies— women Smile

I sort of feel vindicated about the mad supplements taking as I never in a million years thought I’d ovulate last month, and the point of the soy an inositol was to try and encourage my body to lay an egg - which I did! I had my Day 3 bloods done today, so I’m going to start taking my Soy tonight, for the next 5 days

Appt to see the consultant to discuss blood test results is booked for next week, so just want to get it over with and have a better idea of where we stand

BTW saw your chat about moon cups to hold the swimmers in. When I saw my consultant 2 weeks ago, I asked him about the legs-up-the-wall thing, as DH had swivelled me round by the ankles (if that’s not sexy post-DTD activity, I don’t know what is, haha) and popped a pillow under my bum as he figured gravity couldn’t hurt! Dr said it certainly won’t do any harm, but isn’t going to do anything much other than be relaxing - apparently any swimmers that are gonna get up there, get, er, deposited right at the entrance to the cervix (at 28 mph apparently!!) and will be swimming up through the CM straight away. Apparently any, er, flow back, is just seminal fluid, and it’s not that all the sperm has just dropped out!

I’m def gonna ask my gynae about DTD frequency & timing. We were caught on the hop last month, as wasn’t expecting to O, and the CBFM went straight from Low to Peak, plus I didn’t have any EWCM - and cos it was the hottest week of the year and the last thing we felt like doing was DTD recreationally, didn’t seem there was any need to try and get him in the sack for baby making purposes. We DTD the day before and the day of ovulation, but feel miffed that we hadn’t been going at it earlier to catch the egg (we had no expectation of making an appearance). DH doesn’t have the highest sex drive anyway, and so whilst I don’t want him to feel too pressured (like earlier this month when I ran in brandishing the smiley face and issued him with a summons!!), I do want him to hear from the Dr’s mouth when we need to start going at it like rabbits, and how often, so that it doesn’t feel like it’s me being a TTC-crazed loon, so we can at least make sure we’re ‘targeting’ the right days to avoid me knackering him out before the crucial fertile window!

bananafish81 · 21/07/2015 16:32

Oh and mummy (sorry for rambling on, I’m just playing catchup!) - re: the supplements for men. My DH is v anti supplements but agreed to take the Wellman conception vitamins for me. Then when we went to see the consultant obstetric physician to discuss my prescription medications and TTC, when I asked about supplements, the consultant said anything other than folic acid and vitamin D was a waste of money, and that Wellman vitamins were absolutely ridiculous.

Of course I was kicking myself for asking, as DH felt understandably justified in saying it was the Dr’s recommendation that he didn’t need them, which I couldn’t really argue with, haha.

When we see the gynae next week, as he’s the one going to be sent the semen analysis results when DH has to go and JIAC, I’m going to ask him for his POV in case he says yes def take zinc and selenium to help the swimmers. DH has been brilliant about clean living so he can go into the SA confident he’s done his bit, but rightly or wrongly, I instinctively feel the supplements can’t hurt, so hoping the gynae waxes lyrical about the Wellman so I can get them out of the cupboard again Wink

chopsface · 21/07/2015 16:51

banana the month I got my bfp was actually a half arsed attempt. We DTD twice all month. The day before my pos opk and the day after it. Cd's 11 and 13. Sometimes I just think it's sheer luck!

chopsface · 21/07/2015 17:01

Oh and I do recommend Wellman vits for him! Put my dh on them plus 1000mg Vit C (which is meant to rid the sperm of free radicals stopping them clumping together) and 3 months later we had a bfp! Dh's morphology had increased from 2% in Jan to 6% in March. We conceived in March. We had the sa's done as part of our fertility workup just before fertility treatment, which we no longer needed! I myself was only ever taking folic acid but I ovd every month and had ewcm so that's why.

RalucaMorena · 21/07/2015 17:15

Hi all. I have strange feeling in my womb like af should come but she is due on Saturday. Sad
Hope it stays fir me to get at 12 days lp.

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 21/07/2015 17:25

Raluca that's exactly how I feel. Hopefully Af holds off for us until the weekend. In fact scrap that lets hope we get BFPs at the weekend Smile

Kirjava · 21/07/2015 17:49

On the train home. I'm gonna be quiet for a few days I think ladies. Will check back at the weekend to see all your lovely BFPs Flowers

eskimoflo · 21/07/2015 17:56

Hang on in there my love Flowers

Hairstylisttoboris · 21/07/2015 18:10

kirjava sensible idea. Look after yourself. Come back if you need anything. X

eskimo I'm ok thanks 6dpo and well into my tww but as this is my 15tg I'm not as invested in them as I used to be. This month was a fab effort by us on the DTD front, if I may say so myself, and really brought us together, life is getting much better :)

Mummyofonesofar · 21/07/2015 18:24

banana my GP said 3 times a week all month!! She also recommended selenium for the men. I don't care what they say. I have seen plenty of women who's DHs have the worst sperm ever and after 3 months of well picked out vits have come away with a nearly 'normal' reading. So well worth it!!

Oh yes I see chops has been along with her story. Get him back on them!

kir ok lovely, see you at the weekend - or I may not as I'll be on holiday by then Grin

Boris hallelujah that you and DP seem to be on the right track again. Long may it continue! Hugs!

eskimoflo · 21/07/2015 18:55

So glad that you're happier Boris. You've been through the mill a bit in the last few months. Hurrah for your DTD effort! I think I may have to get some none TTC practice in this week in preparation; it's been a while... Blush

RalucaMorena · 21/07/2015 19:07

Beautician. .. I have kinda lots ( compared to last month) sticky cm. I'm 10/11dpo so could implantation occur so late?

Nomio230 · 21/07/2015 20:49

Ral, I have heard it can happen up to 12 DPO, but the most common is 7/8 days.

Banana, I was told to have sex every 2 or 3 days all month & not focus on OV time, which I think is stupid! It makes sense for people who don't know when they ovulate, but if you are using OPKs & have regular cycles, I think you can be pretty sure. I would die of boredom constantly doing it so often!

Boris, I am really pleased things are going well for you. It is nice to see you a bit happier.

Mummy, are you packing yet? I always get too excited & start about a week before we go!

Mummyofonesofar · 21/07/2015 21:26

Nomio not yet but we are only going to stay with family so not too stressed about it - ask me Thursday if I'm panicking yet!! More worried about cleaning my house as we will be bringing my Nan back with me to look after DS for the summer hols.

Nomio230 · 21/07/2015 22:25

I would be exactly the same! Is your nan staying the whole six weeks?

We have done the deed for today. We are planning to do tomorrow, Weds, Thurs (which should be OV day) & Friday. We will be so sick of it we probably won't do it for a week after!

Mummyofonesofar · 21/07/2015 22:28

She is staying for 4 and a bit. They are getting 7 weeks this year! So one week in holiday club, one week with us visiting family, 4 weeks nan staying and a week in Bulgaria Grin

We don't Dtd much after ov. If at all Blush get so bored
