first month ttc what days are best?

hiya all, me and my dh have decided to try for a baby, i'm currently on day 12 of my cycle, we had sex on day 10,and he's away until tomorrow (day 13) I am 29 and have a usual 28 day cycle. How many times should we try this month for optimum results!! And when is the earliest i can test to see if it's done the trick!!!?

In general if you're having sec 2-3 times per week throughout your cycle, you're doing enough to get pg But remember there's a small chance (about 20%) of pregnancy each month.

As far as testing goes, I wouldn't test until the day your period is due.

Hi 20smum - best of luck with ttc. But please take it from someone who had to try for ages - do try to resist testing so early if you can. It can just lead to so much uncertainty and heartache (not to mention the huge expense.) But of course, you must do what is best for you.

20smum... all the best. I have read that every other day from throughout your cycle is a good idea. I am temping at the moment to try and work out if I ovulate around the normal time (my 3rd month ttc). As for testing, I would suggest you wait until a missed period.
