Hi everyone! This is my first time using the ovulation tests... And from the charts the trial gave me, today was the first day I was meant to test. It was negative but I think I'm literally about to ovulate (just from knowing my body!) is that even possible? Why no smiley face?! I'm confused :(

Genwah85 · 12/07/2015 22:42

Those smileys confused me! I got 5 in a row.....and I'm pretty sure I ovulated at a different time to them, I'd say go with your body and the smileys! Then you've covered all bases we where doing the deed every other day just to be safe! Good luck!

Kazz2112 · 13/07/2015 06:34

I have relied on the smileys for three last 2cycles with no success. I'm fairness they did feel right for me as i get very painful ovulation. but I'm taking nothing for granted this month and will be going for it as much as is realistically possible!

philippa88 · 13/07/2015 07:08

Morning ladies! How are you all?
I had 2 days of smileys and it was the first time I used them - we had success!
Kazz just go for it, the month we got pg we were DTD before work, when we got in from work then again at bedtime! Don't get me wrong, it was a chore at times but we persisted and got that bfp!
I've got my 12 week scan on Thursday so am excited for that! I'm sure I'm starting to show - it's a very distinct rounded from the bottom up kind of shape.. When did others start showing? I know it's different for everyone but just curious!! Xx

Syudbx · 13/07/2015 07:14

Aww that's lovely news Philippa :) will keep testing and we'll keep trying!!! Thanks everyone. H

Kazz2112 · 13/07/2015 08:12

just feeling frustrated that DH is off down south for his mates 40th on Saturday morning. back Sunday tea time probably rough as a dog. just feels like wasted dtding time at probably the most important time!

philippa88 · 13/07/2015 08:20

I know it's hard but try not to stress kazz, it does your fertility no good at all!! I know there's a science behind it all obviously but as long as you DTD before and after then you'll be covered. I guess life has to go on otherwise ttc just takes over - and we all know that it pretty much does to start with! I really don't think you should have been told I October thing cos I think it's just causing you to panic :/
All you can do is try and keep your fingers and legs tightly crossed!! You'll get there xx

Kazz2112 · 13/07/2015 08:46

Hopefully. I'm trying to take my mind off it throwing myself into my new role at work and booking personal training sessions. I need my confidence rebuilding if nothing else!

Marchgirl · 13/07/2015 09:01

Good luck to all those waiting for smileys. I wouldn't wait till the smiley before dtd. This month we did eod from cd8 to cd12 then every day until cd14. From ov pain, I would say I ov'd evening of cd13 or morning of cd14, but didn't get smiley until evening of cd14 (which normally means i ov on cd15). Have a look at the lines on the back of the opk when you take them out (I know it says not to). Mine were nearly the same colour from evening of cd13, so I was approaching the peak when I ov'd I think. That's the difficulty with the yes/no one's, rather than the compare line colour type. Trust your body (i know that's hard for us), the sticks are just a guide and seem to be more just to tell you when to start the hpt for the trial.

kaz, take heart from loopy on the rmc thread, who last dtd on the Sunday and ov the following Friday and has a bfp. It's a lottery knowing when is the right time but i don't think you're out because your dh is away by any means

it's such a stress isn't it kazz.

how are you March? hope your feeling well xx

Marchgirl · 13/07/2015 09:28

I'm good thanks claire. How is the bleeding today? Has it settled into a proper af?

OP posts:
clairemorgan81 · 13/07/2015 09:56

glad your okay.
what next for you? will you have an early scan?

no brown again af due Wed x

Marchgirl · 13/07/2015 10:22

Grrr. How frustrating. I really hope it spurts itself out soon.

I will need to book a scan at 6 weeks with my consultant before they can prescribe the heparin (to make sure it's not ectopic) and I'll also book one at 8 weeks for reassurance with my epu. I should be calling this morning to get the ball rolling but scared to pick up the phone in case I jinx it

ahh I can imagine feeling the same March. how far are you now?x

Marchgirl · 13/07/2015 11:03

Ridiculously in not even 4 wks yet (will be tomorrow). So i think that's one of the reasons why I'm reluctant in case they don't take me seriously. I'm trying to split it into mini milestones so the next one is 5weeks. Feels like a lifetime and that I'm wading through treacle

Gen by randomised I mean pregnant and on the drugs. I was number 11 at Coventry to go onto the trial, but you number doesn't reflect the amount that have bfps, just the amount that have signed up if that makes sense??

March, glad the bleeding has tailed off, brilliant news!! What's the furthest you've been so far?

Re the smileys, they were shit for me as most of you know, I didn't get one until 2 days after ov. Got smiley on the Tuesday, bfp the Saturday Hmm so I'd use them in line with the dip sticks x

Genwah85 · 13/07/2015 11:34

Yes choccy that makes sense :) I'm dreading thursday....1st scan as the trial are saying 6 weeks and I think I'll be closer to 5, I'm not expecting to see anything but also hopeful I will, Eugh suppose to be happy and I feel rubbish for being so down!

Marchgirl · 13/07/2015 11:59

choccy, I saw a hb at 7.1 with mc3 but it was gone a week later. That's probably the furthest I've got . Mc1 was diagnosed at 9w (didn't actually happen until 12w), but only measured 6. I think it got bigger than that and was reabsorbed by the time it was discovered. It sounds odd, but with that one and mc 3 i had a little fluttery feeling around 8 weeks and i think this was them dying. I'm not saying i could feel the baby move at that time, but perhaps a bodily reaction? With mc1 i remember telling the midwife at booking in that I'd had a flutter. She told me it wasn't possible to feel the baby so early and so i forgot about it until it happened with mc3, then remembered that little flutter. Going to be shitting myself at the first flutters if i get that far this time.

Gen it's only natural to feel like you do, hormones and all that! I know you'll be totally nervous but I'm sure everyone here is keeping it all crossed!

March, such a hard time you've had :( I'm really rrally praying hard that this is it for you. Such a hard thing for anyone to go through, esp if you felt the flutters. Just heartbreaking. Will they book you in for a scan before 6 weeks?

Louise sorry I forgot to reply. It was very emotional on Thursday, I didn't get my first sentence out to the Tommys lady before cracking up into tears, which I promised myself I wouldn't do!! Such an emotion roller coaster to go through, but we're here, and I think the Cov lot are amazing and I cannot ever repay them enough.

Kazz2112 · 13/07/2015 13:11

Glad to hear things have settled a bit for you March. massive finger crossing for you.

Just had a baby bomb dropped on me. My colleague, who I was seeing for a while when I first started teaching, is going to be a Daddy with the girl he started seeing behind my back. It's a long time water under the bridge now but still can't help the Envy Envy Envy Envy Envy Envy monster on me wanting to scream!

clairemorgan81 · 13/07/2015 13:33

progesterone level is 40 so gp says normal and that I'm ovulating. she said she. arrange an ultrasound and that's all she can do. she said she gets the impression I'm very anxious about it all (no shit) x

Marchgirl · 13/07/2015 14:47

Ok. 40 sounds alright i think (that's completely off the top of my head but i seem to remember less than 25 was where they started to worry, but don't quote me on that). What about a referral if she can't send you for tests herself?

OP posts:
Marchgirl · 13/07/2015 14:49

kazz, sorry to hear about the baby bomb. That does sound like a tough one when there is more history to it, even if it is water under the bridge.

OP posts:
clairemorgan81 · 13/07/2015 15:04

March I'm sure she said over 20 means I'm ovulating, thing is I wasn't worried about ovulating it's more the cause of the brown. she said she will arrange the scan then it would be up to mc consultant after that, she's absolutely shit though so won't hold my breath.

sorry about baby news kazz, its so difficult. Hopefully it's your month this month.

Hope everyone else is ok and good luck for scans this week x

clairemorgan81 · 13/07/2015 15:05

Oh and she said I have to have been ttc for 3 year (obv not counting mcs) for any referral x
