Happy, I love that article, thanks for posting. It's so spot on and after meeting friends for tea (one is newly diffed) where the Miraculous preggo stories were in full swing I wish I could share it.

barkingtreefrog · 30/07/2015 09:12

They've taken the embryo out of the freezer, they'll call in an hour to let me know if it's okay. Provisionally booked in for the transfer at 12.40.
She said odds of embryo survival were 70-80% and if this one perished were they okay to take out the other one? Hmm

dizzylemon · 30/07/2015 09:15

Take two - good luck for today Barking ;)

For anyone interested, I decided not to POAS. I've also decided to give up on things like temping as it all seems so pointless tbh. Guess I will stick to just monitoring bleeds/cramps that sort of thing. I'd managed to persuade myself I was being scientific. Now I just think I'm being frantic. Just going to go with whatever comes out of the Fertility Clinic. Can foresee it all being rather slow though, especially since they've failed to respond at all to my husbands numerous requests for retesting. Guh.

barkingtreefrog · 30/07/2015 09:29

The embryo didn't make it. In my head I'm trying to stop myself using the word 'died'.

The second (final) embryo has been taken out and is okay to go in. She said I should take the progesterone 4 hours before transfer. I pointed out that transfer is in 3 hours. So she said bring it with me and put it in straight after. I might ask for a second opinion when I get to the hospital.

Well, if nothing else I know that I won't be going straight into the next frozen cycle if this one fails...

Fuck. Could really do with DH being here right now. Trying to control the tears because it's Thursday so the cleaner is here... Not succeeding very well.

Sorry to hear things haven't gone to plan Barking, but as Minx said you have a good embryo going back today so try to focus on that for now.

dizzylemon · 30/07/2015 11:40

I live in the Shires (Frodo!). Hampshire to be a bit more specific.

All fingers crossee for you barking

clementineclouds · 30/07/2015 11:41

barking like the others have said, sorry to hear things aren't going to plan. hopefully you can focus on the positive (sending you a virtual hug)

dizzy I'm the same as you, I don't temp (not something I've ever done...always resisted)...for me, the thought of it, just adds more stress to everything. I'm in poas limbo this week, hoping my will power holds up and that I make it to the weekend, before testing Smile

beakybeak · 30/07/2015 12:14

Barking massive hug Flowers but best of luck for et with your other strong little embie!

Dizzy Clem I'm still crossing my fingers for you both!

barkingtreefrog · 30/07/2015 12:41

I've had woo needles, cried on my acupuncture lady. Now at the hospital in my gown and hairnet waiting to go into theatre. Going back to the woo lady afterwards so she can help the uterus relax so it doesn't cramp up and prevent implantation. Didn't do the before and after on the day last time so keen to try something different...

clementineclouds · 30/07/2015 12:58

barking I've not tried acupucnture before, but I think your idea of doing it before and after sounds like a great idea. fx for you (p.s. hope you are rocking the hair net) Smile

clementineclouds · 30/07/2015 13:34

*acupuncture even Smile

barkingtreefrog · 30/07/2015 13:34

Not good. Embryo suffered from the freezing process. The embryologist said it was 'poor quality' Sad.

Oh Barking. All is not lost though. You are still in with a chance. Thank goodness for your needles lady!

barkingtreefrog · 30/07/2015 15:10

Needles lady was amazing, and then said both sessions today (she only came into the clinic for me, and then waited for me to go to the hospital and back again) was on her, no charge Smile. She's lovely Smile.

Swinging between preparing myself for disappointment and struggling to be positive.

SesameSparkle · 30/07/2015 16:14

Hi barking congratulations on being pupo! for dealing with so much drama today on your own. I'm so sorry for the disappointments but I'm sure you've got a fighter of a blast inside you now getting ready to bury in and make itself comfy.

sparechange · 30/07/2015 16:43

PUPO!
Glad the acupuncture went well, and hope you've got a nice feet-up-food-on evening planned for tonight.
When is your OTD?

barkingtreefrog · 30/07/2015 17:11

OTD 8th August.
Going to meet a friend and walk my shit of a dog. I'm on a very fine emotional tightrope right now and he keeps barking loudly at every tiny noise from outside the house, which makes me shout, then he doesn't stop, which makes me cry Sad. Need to tire him out, he hasn't had his usual allocation of walks today.
Thankfully my mum is taking him for three days next week as I'm at work and the dog walker is on holiday. It will be horrible without him, but better to avoid the 6am dog walks and extra stress in the evenings if he keeps up the neurotic behaviour (it's the collie in him). He doesn't do it when DH is home, and he's worse when he hasn't had enough exercise.

sparechange · 30/07/2015 17:55

Enjoy the walk! Do you think he is trying to be protective of you?
My idiot dog does the same when I'm home alone - barks at every noise outside, is really restless. I think she thinks it is her duty to look after me, but it drives me mad, especially barking at things outside...

lucieloos · 30/07/2015 18:08

Congrats on being pupo barking, sorry to hear about the other embryo but I'm sure the one they have put back is a fighter to have made it this far.

I'm waiting for af to turn up so I can start stimms. It's due today but no show! Really annoying as its never ever late due to my stupidly short cycles, it's normally early if anything. We have had some good news though as I rang the NHS yesterday to find out where we were on the waiting list as I had heard of others receiving appts in my area lately. Last time I rang a few months back they said treatment would not be until 2017 but now they have said they are clearing the backlog and I can expect an initial consultation in January if not sooner and treatment won't be too long after that. So that's a great back up plan if we don't have any success with the next 1 or 2 private cycles. We will be entitled to 2 free tries on the NHS.

happylass · 30/07/2015 19:39

Barking that was lovely of your woo lady. Hope you're doing ok this evening. Been thinking of you Flowers
Lucie great news on the NHS. I meant to tell you that, a few days back, someone on another thread posted that they'd been referred to the Heath in April and are starting treatment next month as WFI have cleared the backlog. I'm very Hmm about that though as it seems way too fast unless this poster has special circumstances. Fx you won't need your NHS goes though as this will be the one for you. Hope AF fronts up soon. I need a 25 day cycle or less on this one as they've booked me in for baseline on a Friday. If it's any longer I'll have to wait until the Monday to be scanned and not sure if it'll be too late to start stimming by then. I bet Sod's law will come in to play.....

OP posts:
lucieloos · 30/07/2015 20:15

That does seem very quick happy! The lady told me that it will be up to the consultant to decide how quickly treatment can start and even who referred you can have an effect. You will get treated quicker if referred by a consultant rather than gp Hmm If I had known that I would have asked crgw if the could have referred me.

happylass · 30/07/2015 20:27

So you were referred by your GP straight to WFI? We were referred by our GP to the Royal Glam (our local hospital) and spent the best part of a year there before the consultant referred us on for ICSI. When we did finally make it to the Heath for our first appointment last month I was fully expecting to be told to come back in a year's time but to be fair she said 'you've waited long enough, let's get going!'

TheRainDrops · 30/07/2015 20:29

that little tough nut of an embie is getting nice and comfy as we speak.

lucie glad you've had some positive news there. I'm assuming cos your private goes are abroad that doesn't impact nhs eligibility? or do you have more relaxed rules where you are? With our CCG you can only have one private go before/during nhs funded treatment.

Said my bit on FB barking - just to add that I hope you have a fun weekend with your bros and to send you a soothing shoal of slippery dicks (now my favourite fish name ever!).

Did my first injection this eve, was totally fine although was a bit of a faff getting all the air out of the needle. Stung a little bit afterwards but I think I'll live! I've set up a recurring reminder in my phone (that also tells me which side to do each day). Hopefully no one will see it left open as it just says 'stabbing' Grin
MrP elected not to watch despite an invitation to do so. He is SUCH a wuss. When I'm giving birth he's going to be totally useless, I know it!
