Hi night! Their place is in the ex-pat ghettos south of torrvieja, which is on the costa blanca in case you don't know the area. My sister lives down in La Manga so we'll be spending time down that way too . There's zero culture in the area but lovely beaches and sis says it's hot over there atm so I can't wait.

mummy the rugby sounds fun, hopefully should be a good day out! The World Cup starts soon doesn't it? We can't really afford a 'proper' holiday either with saving for a house but going to my parents place is cheap and cheerful as the main cost is the flights. I say 'proper' holiday as I don't usually class going to Spain as a holiday as I've been going there for 20 years and it's not the same as going somewhere new and exiting where you can get out exploring! My parents are over there in August so we're bringing DP's kids up to Cumbria for a break while their house is empty. I shall wave in your direction when I pass on the M6!

Dizzyn sorry for AF. my gp also happens to be a fertility specialist. He doesn't like temping but didn't mind me peeing on the odd opk. He said sex every 2-3 days not more often is the key. He also wouldn't do bloods on cds2-4. Sorry for AF

Right 6dpo here, not that I stand a chance this month. Brown cm now replaced by cream cm. The human body can be a gross thing at times.

boris my GP started laughing when I told her I was throwing my opks in the bin because they stress me out! I told her I wasn't prepared to give up temping just yet but she made it obvious she's not keen on it. I don't mind AF coming this month because it means I can put this last crappy cycle behind me..., new cycle=fresh start!

Rather bizarrely, I have no AF cramps so far today?!? Usually they kick in the minute AF begins which sends me running to the bog, tampax in hand. They're usually sore enough to make me feel sick but today I can barely feel a thing. The body really is odd sometimes. packs paracetamol in handbag for later just to be safe....

DizzyN I think the rugby world cup kicks off middle of Sept, we are going in Oct, shame we aren’t seeing England but got great seats and spending a weekend in Newcastle (I haven’t been before) So hoping to get some shopping done too and some eating out in a real city!! I would take Spain! My idea of a ‘proper’ holiday is all inclusive anywhere where it is hot with a pool but the school holidays makes that so much more expensive than it should be! I shall wave back! I am having my Nan up in August to take care of DS so will wave at you when we drop her home again!

I am very sceptical of doctors saying those things, mostly because they fed me all that crap and it wasn't true for me... however it is true for the vast majority of people, most fall pg within a year of plain old regular dtd (so the stats say anyway). And there's a lot to be said for trying not to obsess - but just how exactly are we supposed to do that?? I think that's why I still don't temp even after over 4 years of unprotected dtd and only 1 sticky BFP! it's my token nod to not obsessing! Did she say what would happen at next appt? mummy I am super jealous of your DH's AC/DC trip! Is it a full mini-festival over the weekend then? He'll have a whale of a time. Rom coms, early nights and icecream also sound heavenly though... ahhh... I have a tub of Ben & Jerry in the freezer waiting for me tonight .

mega it is just a concert but the nominated driver couldn’t get Monday off work to drive everyone back the next day so they are driving up Saturday, having a night in Glasgow then concert Sunday night and she is driving all the drunks back late Sunday night. Which did piss me off a bit because they all have to pay for an overnight stay so that she can go and get drunk Saturday night instead because she could have just driven them up Sunday and driven them back after the concert.

DizzyN - doctors hate temping... And I'm still a little baffled about why. It so clearly shoes ovulation, as long as people aren't only having sex when they see the temp rise I don't see the problem in using it to reassure yourself that ovulation has happened!

Can't remember who asked about Lucie, but sure she'll be on to update at some point. Her cycle isn't going as well as she'd hoped though. X

mega I have no idea how not to obsess. It's not just with ttc for me, with anything I do, I tend to do lots of research and need to have a carefully thought through strategy in place. When I did my marathon last year it was the same, except then I was addicted to the 'runners world' forums and spent all my time on there! I had to know I had the best training plan, but would berate myself heavily if my training wasn't on schedule. I spent so much time obsessing about every ache and pain and knew all about running injuries and how to prevent them. DP thinks I'm a bit mental lol.

Next appt is just with the nurse to have the blood test and hand in the chlamydia test then I have to ring her for the results a few days later! They test for thyroid health at the same time which is good.

mummy that would have annoyed me too, I'm sure the concert won't even open its doors until late afternoon so there's no reason why she couldn't have driven up there the same day?!

Mamma sorry you got a bfn too. It could be that the hormones are taking their time to show up. In the absence of AF there is still hope.

Dizzyn I had a feeling your GP would say that about temping. None of the Dr's I spoke to were in favour of temping but whilst I agree it can be stressful, it also gives a great insight of our cycles and bodies so I would definitely carry on. Also you could completely miss the boat if you only had sex twice a week! I'm a bit worried now that you don't think I ov coz I didn't dtd last night. I can't see how my temps would be higher without ov and I've started to get sticky discharge which I usually get after ov but didn't get last cycle.

We've got a family weekend planned. Visiting my family tomorrow and DH's on Sunday. Always good fun.

Robot I think I'll start temping from cd7 next cycle. I sent a pic of my chart to my acupuncturist on Tuesday coz she's a big fan of temping and she was convinced I had ov but I didn't believe her! She said my temps couldn't be that high of I didn't ov. I hope that's what's happened with you too. Did you conceive on your first month of clomid? Weren't you ovulating at the time? I have low progesterone so apparently I may ov but according but to my GP it would only be a 'weak ovulation activity' though my temps this cycle are higher than they have been.

Ok so I have a plan for my new cycle=fresh start.

1. 5/6 Brazil nuts every day.
2. ff has predicted a stupidly long fertile window after last months debacle. So eod if we can between cd11 - cd20. This is very ambitious given DP's low dtd-boredom threshold, so we'll see how things go and maybe aim for every third day.
3. keep DP feeling loved with 'just for fun' sex while we're on our hols.
4. strictly NO opks and a mumsnet ban from one week before fertile window until I see a definite thermal shift; to help keep the obsessing at bay.
5. try to eat healthier! No gluten, no takeaways, no sugar!!

DizzyN It is all about her having a night out! Plus she owed DP some money for the ticket & accommodation and she tried to say she had posted it through our door which was a bit weird as we were in the whole night she apparently did this, then tried to say she might have posted it in the neighbours (handily empty currently) so we had to get the owner out with keys to let us check, then eventually said “Oh I did post it but I am fed up of hearing about it so I will give you it again” DP has known her all of his life so doesn’t like to write her out completely but she is such a waste of space!! She even made a show of herself at FIL’s funeral, getting in the funeral car then sobbing at the wake more than the family were. She is a disgrace…

DizzyN, I am pleased you have started the ball rolling with regards to tests. I think maybe they only do the day one tests once you have been referred for fertility help. I have definitely had them, although think mine were day 3.

Mummy, sounds like you have the perfect weekend planned. I am very envious. Sorry for your BFN, but it is still really early.

DizzyM, I OVd without getting a positive OPK one month. I think it is possible to just miss the surge occasionally. Don't give up hope, you might still have a bean in there.

I had a massive glob of what looked like EWCM this morning, but am not sure if it was, or if it was just leftover sperm from last night. I would ideally have liked to DTD again today, but DH was up at 5 & won't be home until midnight, so will probably be too dead. I will see how my OPK looks later.
