We don't care if you obsessively chart, temp & OPK, or just do the deed a couple of times a month. As long as you want a baby & can talk copious amounts of rubbish, this is the place for you. Grin

All that good cm can't have been wrong surely DizzyM ? Might you have had your mouth open last night meaning this morning's temp was lower but you actually did ov on Tues? When was your darkest opk?

ThePug · 25/06/2015 22:46

Just seen sammy's thoughts and yes that could be a possibility too. Did you say you didn't ov last cycle? I wonder if that means your body is ready to release the egg earlier the next cycle? Sorry I'm not all that wise after all!

DizzyMerry · 25/06/2015 22:57

I usually ov on day 13 but didn't ov last cycle. I didn't sleep well last night but don't remember having my mouth open but do remember tossing and turning in bed from about 4am (I checked the time). I started doing opks on day 11 or 12 but they were only faint lines. Thanks sammy and pug I did keep looking at my chart and thinking that surely I have ov as my temps are higher than previous cycles. I'm actually quite relieved that you both think I have ov.

ThePug · 25/06/2015 23:03

Yes if your temps are high then I'm sure you have Dizzy , it's just a question of when and how well timed dtd has been. At least you can now just dtd when you feel like it for the next few weeks rather than because you have to Grin

Right, heading up to bed now in the hope DH will follow soon after...

DizzyMerry · 25/06/2015 23:03

I think you're both spot on as I've just put in a temp for cd7 (guesswork to see what it would do) and it's showing ov on cd8 and given me crosshairs. Does that mean I can stop dtd?! I'm so exhausted now.

eskimoflo · 25/06/2015 23:21

Finally had chance to have a quick catch up on here and just wanted to jump on and say a big thank you for all the birthday wishes! I've had a lovely day and just got back from the cinema after seeing Jurassic World, which was AMAZING! I am a tad obsessed with all of the JP films, but this one was worth the wait!

I promise to have a huge catch up very soon. Also, really glad to see that (assuming the clomid wors for me), I'll be sharing the TWW with some of you, including Pug and Nomio Should be fun! Grin

I'm off now, coz it's CoC! Na night ladies x x

Mummyofonesofar · 26/06/2015 05:37

DizzyM there is always the chance tour thermometer is broken? But yes I agree you must have off with those high temps!

Pikz · 26/06/2015 06:20

I'm having a bit of a break while in the no mans land of af/waiting to ov.

Off on hols tomorrow and I really need the break

Big love and luck to everyone

loopylou1984 · 26/06/2015 06:37

Pikz have a lovely holiday!!

DizzyM - I'd say you can stop!
I wonder if there's any science behind an anov cycle causing early ov in the next cycle.... Might have to google!

Eskimo - glad you had a lovely birthday, I still haven't seen JW, but used to have a recurring nightmare about being chased by a t-Rex when I was a teenager... So perhaps it shouldn't see it in the cinema?! X

Mummyofonesofar · 26/06/2015 07:07

Pikz have a super holiday!!!!

Bfn this morning but think will test daily til AF because I have loads so I can. Chart attached. Removed my pos opk as ff wouldn't believe I ov'd 3 days after it like my temp suggests.

Welcome to the Bumsnet Bus of BFPs
megarobotdiscoparty · 26/06/2015 08:30

Pikz have a great time, hope this gets you in the right frame of mind for next cycle which WILL be the one!

mummy sorry for BFN but plenty of time yet for you - how many dpo are you? Quite right to keep testing, those sticks would feel sad if you didn't use them.

eskimo YES on a good birthday! So glad you had a great day. I need to go and see Jurassic World soon. Love a good dinosaur and was obsessed with the first film and book as a child. How are you feeling now, Clomid lady?

Pug hope you had a succesful night of CoC!

dizzy I'm rubbish on charting but that sounds really promising to me! Early/missed ov better than no ov kind of hoping that might have happened to me too Will you start temping/opks earlier next cycle? I'm thinking I might.

LADIES! It's nearly the weekend! I am giddy as a kipper! Tomorrow we're off to my mum's for the weekend, and we'll get to see my lovely niece who just turned 3 and is completely bonkers. Plus I get a night to myself tonight as DH is off out with work tonight - trash TV ahoy! Although might just watch the Glastonbury coverage and feel envious of all the revelry. I do miss my festival days - sort of wish we'd gone to one this year but should have been four months upduffed by now so decided against it. I will live vicariously through my telly and stay nice and dry and warm instead.

What are you all doing, you lovely things? Apart from waiting for your BABY-DRUGS sammy eek!

boymamma · 26/06/2015 08:41

Sorry bout the bfn mummy. Had the same this morning Sad not feeling very positive about it. According to opk im approx 13 dpo so thinking im out this month. Time has stood still the past two weeks, the thought of doing it all over again Sad gonna treat myself to a big bottle of red tonight i think. Hope you are all keeping well.

DizzyNorthernBird · 26/06/2015 08:44

Morning!

Just trying to catch up! Got my appt with the GP in an hour and guess what! AF arrived this morning....BOOM! So I'm going to demand a cd1 blood test while I'm there! Let's get this show on the road! Grin

dizzym I'm sorry but I disagree with the others, I know it's hard work but try to keep coc'ing until you're confident you have ov'd.....look at me this last cycle, got my thermal shift well over a week later than normal so I totally missed the boat. In hindsight the signs were all back...I had a second spell of wet cm but I mistook it for pre AF-wet cm so didn't dtd Sad. Don't write yourself off just yet & keep a close eye on what your body is doing...

DizzyNorthernBird · 26/06/2015 08:50

mummy I do think that is a big flaw with ff that it tends to rely too heavily on opks....it's much better to make a judgement based on what your temps are doing imo. Sorry about the bfn but your cm symptom does sound promising!

pikz enjoy your hols!

eskimo belated happy birthday wishes to you! Glad you had a great day!

Sorry to anyone who I've missed, I've only caught up on this page so far whilst trying to watch made in Chelsea at the same time!!

Mummyofonesofar · 26/06/2015 08:52

mega I am only 9DPO so was expecting a BFN either way but it feels good to poas! Have a lovely weekend, sounds like you have a great one planned. My DP is our Saturday & Sunday night seeing ACDC (he will arrive back Sunday night/Monday morning inebriated) so I get the tv for two nights! I am going to watch rom coms and have early nights Grin And buy ice cream!!

Sorry for BFN boy usually 13DPO BFN is pretty definitive but some on this bus didn’t get theirs until 15/16DPO and you are not out til the red lady sings! So I understand your sadness but don’t give just yet – however I would recommend enjoying the wine anyway – I had half a bottle last night.

DizzyN at least AF has arrived for you are you can move on to the next cycle and you CD1 tests!

Mummyofonesofar · 26/06/2015 08:54

DizzyN crossed posts, yes I agree the temps are more reliable because opks are just that - a prediction! Whereas temps are more accurate! Don't know why it put ov 2 days earlier anyway because that doesn't even follow the 3 over 6 rule! I am hoping snotty cm is a good sign, only time will tell!

DizzyNorthernBird · 26/06/2015 10:40

Hmm well I'm just back from the gp's and she said I should throw my thermometer in the bin! She's not a fan because she thinks the stress that temping causes does more harm than good! I can see where she's coming from but personally I'd rather know whether I've ovulated or not and I take comfort in seeing my thermal shift, when I get one. She's more of the 'have sex twice a week throughout your cycle and when the timing is right it will happen' school of thought Hmm.

That said, she was absolutely lovely and has agreed to do a day21 (or day 28 in my case) blood test and has given me a home chlamydia test to do as well (I thought I'd been tested at my last smear but it doesn't seem to have been done). They don't do a cd1 blood test. So I just need to wait a month now for the next appt and we'll take it from there Smile.

It's a relief to get things started now. I explained to her about my long and variable cycles but she didn't seem concerned at all and said its totally normal not to ovulate a couple of times a year, so my mind is at rest, for now anyway!

So what's everyone got planned for the weekend? I'm working, boo, but on annual leave for two weeks from Tuesday, hurrah!

Putneymummy1 · 26/06/2015 10:40

Hello guys. Can I hop on? Nice to see you all! Prosecco chilled here! Still in my tww and can't think of anyfink else! Back to work soon and should be focusing on that but am so wanting to be upduffed with num 2 before I'm 40. I think my symptoms are totally psychosomatic and feel like an idiot having confided in bff. Had tiredness bit of mood swinging and Lower ab cramps all of which are highly likely to the tummy bug I've had this week! Idiot! Can I test yet? I'm prob 8/9dpo but only on cd 20 x

Mummyofonesofar · 26/06/2015 10:51

DizzyN all GPs hate temping, opks & testing early, but I would rather temp and know what is going on too!! All GPs say that because it is guidance, once or twice a week and it will happen. Make you feel like an idiot trying so hard Sad glad she was nice about it though. Glad they are doing 28 day tests. Surely they need cd1 to compare the hormones to see the change due to ov? Enjoy you annual leave – are you going anywhere?

Putney Hi, I sit in here too Grin why has bf made you feel silly? It is too early for testing but I did today on CD9. Do you temp? Why do you think you are already 8/9dpo on cd20?

DizzyNorthernBird · 26/06/2015 11:01

mummy that is exactly what I thought and I asked her about day one but she just said they only do day 21 tests? I don't really know how it works though, do they have a guideline they check against for day 21's?

Funnily enough we're also off to see ACDC, going to Wembley on the 4th, I got the tickets for DP's Xmas pressie. I don't really know their music but it sounds like I'm in for a treat....?! So I've got a few days after Tuesday to chill at home then we fly to Spain for 5 days on the 6th. My parents have an apartment over there so we're just staying there and will have a pretty laid back week. I cannot wait!!

nightandthelight · 26/06/2015 11:06

Ooh Dizzy where in Spain? Will wave at you :)

loopylou1984 · 26/06/2015 11:14

Mega - lol at my baby drugs! Other than that we have a family BBQ, so bound to get asked the dreaded 'when are u having a baby?' By some distant relatives Hmm
Rubbish about missing out on festivals, but you'll be much warmer/cleaner watching it on the tv!

Sorry for the bfns mummy and boymamma.

DizzyN - sorry for AF.
They can do day 21 alone as there are defined levels that your hormones should be at to show ovulation. That being said there were a couple of things our clinic wanted tested that could only be done between days 2-4... So if you end up getting treatment you might find your clinic ask the gp to do these (blood tests privately are extortionate!). Xx

Mummyofonesofar · 26/06/2015 11:14

DizzyN I just looked up the NICE guidance and it just says to check progesterone on day 21 to confirm ovulation – nothing about comparing it to a CD1 test. And BBT tracking has not been recommended since 2004.

Enjoy ACDC, it really isn’t my cup of tea so I am happy to stay at home! For Xmas I bought DP rugby world cup tickets for the 3 of us to go and see Scotland vs Samoa, that isn’t my cup of tea either but I won’t mind it. Enjoy your bit of sunshine – getting so desperate for a holiday but can’t really afford one Sad

Putneymummy1 · 26/06/2015 11:21

Hi Dizzy. She didn't make me feel silly I just do because I got all excited thinking they were preg symptoms and then basically had the squits for a week! I think I'm 9 dpo because I got a static smiley 9 days ago and had ewcm their day and precedeing 2/3 days. Also know which day of my cycle DS was conceived so assuming it's roughly the same.

Putneymummy1 · 26/06/2015 11:24

Oh sorry mummy not dizzy! X
