Hi ladies! I am 33 and have been trying to get preggars 6months now :( feels like forever. my partner has two children from prev relationship (marriage) and his ex fell pregnant straight away apparently, my younger sister-by 6 yrs is pregnant with her 2nd which happened 2 months into her relationship ! I have been really positive this month but my period is due wed and now i have brown spotting-meaning am out again. I guess i am just on a downer now... this sucks. I have a regular 28 day cycle and ovulate day 13 (opk) and have sex at least every other day! eating more healthily and tried fertilcm to help. I have worked with children for years and so long for my own. I am addicted to these threads and love how everyone is so supportive of one another! Fairy dust to us all!x

Thank you both xx

sunshinegirl12 · 15/08/2015 10:58

How are you feeling with it Alpha? Xx

Alpha100 · 15/08/2015 11:36

I'm fine. Just in a bit of a daze. I've had tender breasts and a few days cramping but those are both typical AF symptoms for me. I was so convinced AF was coming I bought tampons yesterday!

CinderToffee · 15/08/2015 11:48

Great news Alpha! Just goes to show, you really never can tell when a BFP might come along!

My temps seem to confirm ovulation a few days ago, so I'm 3dpo now. Fingers crossed something comes off all that sex - in the end we did it eight days in a row! Bet I still don't get pregnant.

Mermaid36 · 15/08/2015 12:46

Congratulations Alpha!!

star1980 · 15/08/2015 13:37

Congratulations alpha that's wonderful news!

babycakes, do you have a GP appointment booked in? Sounds like you need something to put your mind at rest. It does take some women a few months for their cycles to settle down and long cycles and missed periods are part of that. But it's so stressful trying to second guess what the hell your body is up to! Hope you get some answers soon.

banana, are you testing today?

SharyBobbins · 15/08/2015 15:08

Congratulations Alpha!!

Just to echo the post below, have you had an appointment with your GP Babycakes? I didn't think mine would take me seriously at this stage but they were surprisingly supportive x

bananamonkey · 15/08/2015 16:56

Congratulations Alpha!
BFN for me but think I'll test again in a couple of days

jellybelly85 · 16/08/2015 10:27

Aww congrats Alpha it's lovely hearing BFP stories :-)

For those wondering about OPKs, did you know Clear Blue are running a clinical trial where you are given an OPK product for free for a month? You have to give them a daily FMU sample (you have to store your sample pots in the fridge and post off every fortnight). Might not suit everyone but if you want to use OPKs this seems like a pretty good option, plus its contributing to research to help understand fertility better uk.clearblue.com/survey

It feels like I'm in limbo . Came off the implant at the start of July, tracking symptoms on Ovia and waiting patiently for a sign of either AF or BFP - I'll be quite glad for either (although obs, BFP would be more amazing!). DTD every 3 days...

I tried using OPKs this past month, had a lot of faint lines and one bolder line - but nothing considered 'positive'. I had 2 weeks of light cramping last month followed by 3 days of super-light spotting. And this month I've had light cramping and sharper bolts of pain over my right ovaries, and I'm really hoping for Af or BFP to arrive sometime this week... fx!!

I bought a thermometer for BBT - but have since realised I'm awful at doing things as soon as I wake up! How do you remind yourself to test ASAP?

sunshinegirl12 · 16/08/2015 10:40

Hi JellyBelly, I thought I would have the same problem remembering to take my temp first thing but it's been fine. This is my first month doing it, the first couple of nights I didn't sleep well, you know the feeling you get when you've got something on your mind that you've got to do, but since then it's just become a part of my routine. It's right next to my bed so it's the first thing I see and I set my alarm a little earlier than I used to, just as an extra reminder xx

jellybelly85 · 16/08/2015 10:55

Hi Sunshine thanks for sharing. I've got mine by my bed, but I guess I'm not made a conscience effort to remember. Trouble with me is I tend to wake up before my alarm... so maybe I need to set an earlier alarm too. I'm sure it would become habitual once you've done it a few times. I've just not managed to remember so far!

Sizzle81 · 16/08/2015 14:10

I'm going to check out the CB trial. Thanks for sharing Jelly.
I only started temping this month and I'm not sure how I do it (as my memory is super crap) but I do remember to take it. Love the memory save as I occasionally wake up an hour before my alarm. So I take my temp and go back to sleep.

Sunshinegirl2015 · 17/08/2015 16:18

Congrats Alpha!!

I have to set my alarm earlier. I've been drinking 2L water every day this month and so have been waking up to use the loo in the night but it's normally a good 4 or so hours before my alarm so don't think that should affect it.

Good luck!

CinderToffee · 19/08/2015 09:40

How's everyone doing?

I'm 7dpo now. For some reason I'm convinced I'm not pregnant this month. I also don't trust my temping skills, so I think I might have got my ovulation date wrong anyway. I guess I'll see when AF turns up - that should tell me! I might try vaginal temping for the next cycle.

bananamonkey · 19/08/2015 10:17

Supposedly 17dpo (if OPK and EWCM were accurate) and BFN/no AF yet. Going away for anniversary weekend on Friday so that is mega-annoying!

sunshinegirl12 · 19/08/2015 11:15

You never know Cinder, it could be your month FX for you, your not out til AF arrives.

Banana, when are you due AF?

So I think I delayed my ovulation day by taking B50 vits (its the only thing I can think of why it's later than normal) so I stopped taking them and now think/hope I'm about to ov. My first months chart and I can't make much sense of it, it looks a bit up and down!!

We've still been DTD every other day since the end of AF and will keep on with it, but I'm not sure now if delayed ov will also delay my next AF Confused

bananamonkey · 19/08/2015 11:45

I have no idea as it's my first cycle so I know it's likely to be all over the place and extremely little chance of conception but I hate the unpredictability. I was super regular before but that was years and years ago. If nothing's happening I'd at least like to know so I can drink some champagne this weekend.

As a side note, since stopping the pill my skin and hair is mega greasy which is also fun, I also have neck acne (WTF) Sad

CinderToffee · 19/08/2015 12:53

sunshine my understanding is that if you ovulate late then AF will also be late - I think the length of the luteal phase is meant to be pretty constant from cycle to cycle.

sunshinegirl12 · 19/08/2015 14:03

Thanks Cinder, atleast I won't be getting my hopes up too much that AF is late for another reason.

Banana, think thats probably just while your hormones settle down and should all go back to normal soon. Hopefully you'll know either way by friday, we are away this weekend too for husbands birthday so I'm going to have a couple of glasses with him.

CinderToffee · 19/08/2015 15:25

Indeed sunshine - I ovulated a bit late last month but I didn't realise, and when AF was "late" I was sure I'd be pregnant!

YouAndMeAreGoingToFallOut · 19/08/2015 19:08

Hi ladies - just to say I am the poster directly above: I've decided to dereg and re-reg as a result of all this hacking stuff that's been going on. I'll still be here though!

PallasCat · 21/08/2015 16:08

Checking back in after a while away to report... BFP Shock

Did an IC last Friday (at 3 days after AF due) with a very faint line, confirmed with FR and a faint but stronger line last Saturday. I've done a couple more ICs since, including this morning, which are now strong.

Completely surprised, though nothing like as shocked as DH - lucky he was lying down when I told him, or I think he would've fallen over!

Congrats to you too, Alpha!

sunshinegirl12 · 21/08/2015 16:54

Wow, congrats Pallas, that's lovely news! How are you feeling? xx

PallasCat · 21/08/2015 17:42

I'm good thank you sunshine Smile
Getting occasional aches/cramps, a bit of tiredness, but otherwise fine. I actually fell over a couple of times last week, luckily both times on very soft surfaces - didn't think I was feeling dizzy exactly, but can only thing it's connected, as it's not normal for me! Anyway, being a bit careful now about moving around carefully!

How's everyone else?

Sizzle1981 · 21/08/2015 18:20

Aww congrats Pallas!!! x
