Thanks banana! I'm still not convinced they are neg but value your opinion! Both tests do have 2 visible lines and blue dye does make a 'cross' as you mentioned. I suppose you can't really tell from the photo I posted. I will test again later and confirm my suspicions...

oranges sounds like you’re doing exactly the right thing! The weight one is a bugger tbh. When I saw my gynae for pre TTC consultation (complicated medical history and lots of medications to consider) he said I needed to get my BMI up to a minimum of 18, preferably 18.5 at the very least - ideally 19, but said he’d had lean women do well as long as they weren’t under a BMI of 18. I inherited my mum’s very slight frame & fast metabolism, and lose weight v easily and struggle to put it on. TBH the only way I put weight on was by the GP buggering around with my contraceptive pill & putting me on a different pill, and by eating a shitload of carbs. As soon as I stopped the pill and started eating low GL, progress went backwards Sad - must try harder!

Your consultant is def right in that oestrogen is made by body fat, and lean women tend to have oestrogen on the low side & thin linings to start with - and the oestrogen blocking effect of Clomid can (as it did in my case) thin the lining further. That said, my consultant said in most cases thin lining could be countered with supplementary oestrogen - as Clomid effected people in different ways, and someone with a thicker lining to start with could end up with a thinner lining post Clomid, whilst someone with a thin lining might not be effected at all. So sounds like she’s coming from the right place, though I know how frustrating the weight thing is - when low GL and weight gain are basically diametrically opposed!

I have no idea what fertility yoga is, but I do non-fertility yoga and love it. I think with all these things it’s important to just do something you enjoy. I gave up booze about 6 months ago, but that’s because I have epilepsy and another seizure would mean putting TTC on hold. In normal circumstances, I don’t think complete abstinence really makes a jot of difference vs the occasional glass of Wine in the grand scheme of things Smile

bananafish81 · 08/08/2015 15:12

stealth I’ve never been on Metformin, so can’t offer any personal experience, but both my consultant and GP said Metformin would definitely not be appropriate in my case because I was so lean. But different doctors say different things, and I know other skinny ‘cysters’ on here have done well on it. However I was told definitely not an option for me, as I couldn't afford to lose weight.

bananafish81 · 08/08/2015 15:29

oranges just remembered that you’re hypermobile too! be very very careful with yoga and make sure you have a really good teacher. I find yoga absolutely brilliant for helping the tightness and stiff muscles that come with HMS, but you have to be so so careful about hyperextending those joints.

I do a form of yoga called Iyengar, which is ‘the one with the props’. Unlike other forms which are quite dynamic, lots of fairly rapid movement from one posture to another, Iyengar involves holding postures for a fairly long time, and using blocks / straps / bricks / ropes / chairs to work to your level. Classes are smaller and there’s more individual attention from teachers. There are some poses I can’t do as my ankles and shoulders start to sublux, and my teacher knows to point out when I’m all over the place cos I don’t realise I’ve hyperextended. Yoga can be brilliant for hypermobiles, but I’ve been in classes where if I didn’t know the limits of my own body, I’d have ended up hurting myself. So if it doesn't feel right, don't do it!

stealthbanana · 08/08/2015 18:17

Yes yoga is not good for me - if I do too much I start to get into real trouble with my hypermobility. I stick to Pilates and ballet. Not sure what fertility yoga is - but why not?!

PontyGirl · 09/08/2015 10:44

feeling okay today, lost a little weight this week so that's something. my temps are weird at the moment, ff can't seem to decide whether I've ovulated or not (advanced and research says yes, FAM says no) and if I haven't then this cycle will be longer than the last which is a little annoying seeing all that I've done to try and short myself out.

but it's pretty weather outside so today I'm shelving all thoughts of TTC Smile I hope you all have a lovely, relaxing day

Ginfizz90 · 09/08/2015 12:00

Well done on the weight loss ponty! It is so hard to lose weight, it's depressing! Hmm I'm trying for a 10% weight loss to see if my symptoms improve.

ZazzlesTheCat · 09/08/2015 16:31

Hi Ladies, can I join?
I've been a lurker for a while, TTC last year for a few months but wanted a break for a while. Since then everyone I know has either just had a baby or got pregnant so feels it's about time I got a move on!
I've had PCOS since my early 20s, got a medium/large cyst that's causing me some pain on my left ovary and my right ovary is polycystic. My cycles are regular though at 29 days but still thinking of taking soy CD1-5, hopefully it wont hurt to give it a try!!
Looking forward to the next few months :)

bananafish81 · 09/08/2015 17:15

Congrats on the weight loss ponty! Hope you're enjoying the glorious weather Smile

Freddiesmother · 10/08/2015 07:58

Welcome zazzles! And congrats ponty you have given me some inspiration. All good here but expecting to get crazy soon as it's the third day of 150g clomid Angry

PontyGirl · 10/08/2015 09:01

thanks gin, banana and Freddie Smile it's hard work but every pound I lose has me like Grin Grin Grin so totally worth it.

welcome zazzle! that's so good about your regular cycles, I'm slightly Envy Grin

for those of you taking inositol - how much are you taking a day? e.g. a teaspoon? I'm not sure if I'm taking the right amount.

hope everyone is good... well, as good as you can be on a Monday morning Hmm Brew Thanks

Ginfizz90 · 10/08/2015 09:27

I took 4g a day which was approx two heaped tea spoons. I got fed up with it in the end though and stopped because I didn't notice any improvement

PontyGirl · 10/08/2015 09:39

gin I stopped a few months back for the same reason. How long did you take it for before you stopped?

RoseBud2015 · 10/08/2015 10:31

I've been taking inositol since April. Its defo curbed my appetite (although im defo not trying to lose weight!) but I'm not sure its done anything else. I take 4grams too. I do a dessert spoon full. But have bought tablets once the powder is finished so its easier to know I'm taking the optimum amount!

Well done on the weight loss Pointy!!!

Welcome zazzles

freddiesmother is this your first month on this dose? I'm on 150mg clomid for the first time too but I'm on cd21.

I'm a
But confused ladies - I've had lots of ewcm and very very tender/sore boobs for the past week (from cd 14 to now) - does this mean I have/am ovulating? I know I'll have bloods to tell me this but is that generally what this means? I didn't have it last cycle but did the cycle before which is when I ovulated.
Also, I'm v v emotional and have had a few little cries to myself when I think about wanting a baby

Freddiesmother · 10/08/2015 13:30

Isit no I took 150g last cycle too. It was ok but this time I feel wiped out. Don't know about cm as never have any on clomid. When is your blood test?

ZazzlesTheCat · 10/08/2015 15:12

Thanks for the warm welcome FlowersSmile

Where do you all buy your soy from? Couldn't see anything in sainsburys, and H&B are pricey! Will check out Boots later.

Dollface136 · 10/08/2015 15:58

Hi Zazzles welcome!

I got mine from Amazon, they were Nature's Aid, from what I remember they were around £12 but you only need a few tablets each month so not a lot of money if you see what I mean.

bananafish81 · 10/08/2015 16:38

Welcome Zazzle I got mine from Holland and Barrett. The dosage on the bottle is for taking it for menopausal symptoms - the lower the dose per tablet the easier it is to flex the dosage

Not sure if it's delayed effect of the Clomid, or my body experiencing the brand new effects of progesterone for the first time (dunno if I have ever definitely ovulated before - and big follicle presumably means bigger corpus luteum and higher progesterone?) but I've been getting the most stonking hot flashes the last couple of days. And today I've felt so tired it's like i've been hit by the side of a bus!

I've had the fan set to 'stun' in the bedroom. It's like a top of the pops wind machine! Haha

ellewalk · 10/08/2015 16:57

Afternoon all AGAIN! Sorry not posted but have found things quite overwhelming, you all seem to know your stuff, I have been lurking and was really pleased to see the BFP's recently, so well done to those ladies. So on the PCOS losing weight and exercising journey, I have dropped just under half a stone in 4 weeks and am up to running for 28 minutes, the goal is to run for 30 minutes which I will step up to next week. So AF arrived as clockwork, it is so frustrating to have a regular cycle and know that I am not ovulating according to the gp I am thinking of going back in 2 months, 3 months after my diagnosis and asking for repeat bloods to see if there is any change, do you guys think this is a good idea? I am also thinking of starting inositol in two months, i really want to get some more weight off!! Anyway thanks for listening and just generally chatting about this stuff xx

ZazzlesTheCat · 10/08/2015 17:29

Thanks doll and banana :)

I'm also another in the overweight camp, but not current trying to lose weight in denial. I figure that when I get my BFP I'll have to stop drinking and the weight will just fall off! Grin

IsItIorAreTheOthersCrazy · 10/08/2015 18:40

ellewalk firstly, congratulations on your weight loss!
Yes def go back and have more bloods done - weight loss can sometimes kickstart your body into ovulation although I have no evidence of this as I am crap at dieting

freddiesmother I have my blood test tomorrow (cd22) as apparently there was
No one there to take my blood today I don't understand why a Dr couldn't do it but then I don't make the rules
I really really hope it shows ovulation!

bananafish I think it's the clomid. What cd are you on? I got lovely hot flashes for about 2 weeks after I finished taking them and was told this is a normal side effect. Lovely isn't it? Grin
I have no idea how we're supposed to feel sexy and be attractive when pcos causes weight gain and general hairiness and the treatment causes menopause symptoms and teenage hormonal-ness!

bananafish81 · 10/08/2015 19:08

ellewalk welcome and congrats, that sounds terrific!

IsIt I’m CD 22, Clomid was taken on weirdo CD8-12 (wasn’t planned, was an ‘oh shit let’s try this as a diagnostic exercise’ when my catastrophic bloods came through), triggered CD 17 and ovulated CD18.

I thought it might be the Clomid as I know hot flashes are a known side effect. But seems v weird I’m only getting side effects way after I stopped taking it!! Dunno WTF is going on. TBH I’ve pretty much given up on my body doing anything remotely sensible or predictable...

PontyGirl · 11/08/2015 08:29

Waiting on a call from my new GP to get the ball rolling. I was going to wait until closer to the end of the year but I think I'm coming on AF now and I don't think I did end up ovulating this month and I only seem to have ovulated once in the last few months so I'm going to see what this new GP's POA is. My old GP was fabulous, like a PCOS know-all goddess but she walked out of the surgery over something Sad gutting!

wish me luck! not feeling optimistic. I feel like it can be such a battle if you pick the wrong GP.
