Thanks peeps! That's after first month of metformin and taking folic acid for 2 weeks. Also eating lots of avocado! I am in shock not even told my OH yet!

RoseBud2015 · 05/08/2015 22:29

Mrs Biscuit How old are you? How long have you been ttc for? Are you currently taking any meds?

Ooh! Thanks rufus! That's really interesting. And encouraging. Esp as I've spanked a load on 3 months of inofolic! Cheaper than the inositol tablets I was buying too.

I'm going to try and remember to ask my gynae about inositol as well as DHEA & CQ10 when I see him next month too. Unless my lining has miraculously thickened and we catch this egg and I get a BFP before then haha

Trigger shot this afternoon and I have to say I'm not feeling tip top. Thankfully the hard work for DTD tomorrow morning (and Fri morning!) is down to DH!

Strictly 12h and 36h post trigger would mean DTD at 4am, which so ain't gonna happen!!!

bananafish81 · 05/08/2015 22:43

Freddie what Rosebud said! AF isn’t a guarantee of having ovulated - though if your pg tests def show you have O’d then no AF is strongly suggestive of a BFP!

That said, I ovulated last month and I barely had a proper period, just a couple of days of spotting. And consultant said this month might be the same, cos my lining is so thin.

But the spotting arrived bang on 14 days after I ovulated last month, so it was pretty conclusively a slightly weedy form of AF.

(I didn't get any 21 day bloods last month as it wasn't a medicated or monitored cycle. So didn't know for definite that I'd ovulated. But I got a +ve OPK followed by a sustained temp rise which seemed a pretty good indication)

Freddiesmother · 05/08/2015 23:37

Thanks banana and rosebud I am so confused my day 21 scan was good (115) but I had been using progesterone pessaries as instructed by nurse so wonder if they render that result useless!?! Pffffftttt why is it so complicated.... On holiday at the moment but will phone Hosp when back and ask

PontyGirl · 06/08/2015 07:59

gin they figured it out when I was pregnant - they had tested me before I got pregnant as part of my diagnosis for PCOS and months later they just kind of went "oh shit!" because it can cause a mc if thyroid levels go too high. looking back, my symptoms were textbook - lethargic, cold hands and feet, even more of a struggle to lose weight etc.

actually ladies it's quite important to get tested because if your levels aren't right, conceiving is even harder.

bananafish81 · 06/08/2015 09:24

Ladies on Clomid, did you find it affected your CM?

I'm not surprised I've basically dried up completely - never mind no EWCM, there's absolutely nowt going on at all - cos my oestrogen was low to start with, then chuck in the oestrogen-blocker Clomid, so makes sense my lining hasn't kept pace with my follicles & my CM has dried up.

Know these can be known side effects of Clomid, just wondered if anyone else had experienced them?

Trigger has obv done its thing as got a 'Peak' on the CBFM and a +ve OPK, so just gonna have to be very liberal with the preseed and hope my lining picks up over the next week!!

Ginfizz90 · 06/08/2015 09:40

Ponty! Thanks for that- exactly it's so important and I don't think it's really taken seriously. I have an appointment to see my gp today as in feeling the same. I can't even get to the gym and I'm usually very active!

AF is here so cd 1 for me! What days does everybody recommend for soy?

I was thinking 3-7

Pebbles086 · 06/08/2015 09:58

OMH batternburg Deffo a BFP!! Have you told OH yet!! Sending you lots of love xxx

In regards to alternative therapy I tried reflex and I agree, very relaxing but not going to get me pregnant so I've packed that in! At £30 a session its just too much money to spend on hoping even if it is really relaxing. Between all of us we must of spent hundreds on vitamins, potions, treatments and POAS tests!! But these BFPs prove some stuff work xx

Freddiesmother · 06/08/2015 10:00

Banana yes I have had the same it was quite uncomfy actually and I ended up getting thrush as a result .... Nightmare. It doesn't last too long but yes just go for it with the preseed.

RoseBud2015 · 06/08/2015 11:22

banana I have very little CM at the best of times, but when taking clomid I become a barren desert! So we are very very liberal with preseed Its costing us a small fortune Lol! X

So the gp thinks I'm depressed! Which I'm not. She's also told me to stop with the Met.
The weight gain she thinks I'm comfort eating, more like eating dust as the weight keeps piling on and won't budge!

battenberg123 · 06/08/2015 11:51

Thanks Pebbles I haven't told him yet, I am biding my time as I know he will be like an over excited puppy and I need to let it sink in first haha! Also I've had antenatal depression before so I'm very wary, sorry I know that sounds super ungrateful and I don't mean it to considering what everyone is going through! I am made up but just cautious of myself as I'm prone to anxiety!

Rosebud is pre-seed expensive? I've been using Tesco bought lubricant haha! I think PCOS does make it a bit drier down there, I've definitely noticed it!

Ginfizz it doesn't sound like you're depressed!

chandelierswinger · 06/08/2015 11:58

Gin Keep a food diary! That way you can show the GP exactly what you're eating. Why had she told you stop the met? After lots of research, I did SI on days 3-7.

Another pre seed fan here!! It's cheapest from Access Diagnostics. It's best to use a sperm friendly lubricant for ttc, but the Tesco/Boots/Superdrug own are great for the rest of the time Wink

bananafish81 · 06/08/2015 12:01

Battenberg so excited for your OH to find out! And you don’t sound ungrateful at all

I can only imagine what a rollercoaster being pregnant and having a baby is like, TTC is hard enough!

It obv hasn’t done you any harm at all, but normal lubricants can trap the swimmers so aren’t ideal for babymaking sexytimes, ideally best to use a sperm friendly lubricant.

Pre Seed must be made of liquid gold or something, it’s about £15 for the teeniest tube! Comes with 9 applicators for internal use too. A little does go a long way, but I’ve been quite generous with how much I put in the applicator and bung right up my foof, given that, like Rosebud, it’s like the bloody Sahara up there. Down there is OK with a bit of slap and tickle (TMI everyone?!) but, er, being turned on isn’t going to get the swimmers up through the cervix if I don’t have any CM.

But obv using regular lubricant didn’t do you guys any harm at all, given that absolutely cracking BFP! Woohoo!

bananafish81 · 06/08/2015 12:06

BTW while we're on TMI-r-us, I got some Conceive Plus sperm-friendly lube to try as well. Comes in a big tube, or individual single use applicator tubes (I got the big one). The Pre Seed applicators are a bit like a tampon, so prob easier to get it where it needs to be than the Conceive Plus ones, judging from the product photo on Amazon.

We personally found it much stickier and ended up getting stuck together like PVA glue. Not exactly conducive to bed-rocking shagging but certainly made us laugh, haha. Your mileage may vary!!

bananafish81 · 06/08/2015 13:04

Well I have officially lost the ttc plot

So I had my trigger shot yesterday, and I know that you shouldn't POAS early as the hCG can still be in your system and you can get a false positive.

So I'm obsessively dipping Internet cheapy OPKs to see how long the surge lasts and I decide to dip one of the Internet cheapy pregnancy tests just to have a practice to see what a BFP line might look like so I know what to look for!!! Who does a bloody BFP practice run??!!

VixxFace · 06/08/2015 14:05

Just had my scan and not a peep of a follicle on 100 mg of clomid and I'm on cycle day 13. Beyond disappointing!

PontyGirl · 06/08/2015 17:09

bananafish we've all been there one way or another - I POAS 5dpo once Grin not quite sure what I was trying to achieve there...

vixx I'm sorry Thanks what's the next step?

I used conceive plus when I got pregnant with DD, and I'm back using it now. It's looking like an anovulatory cycle for me though so..!

Mrsbiscuitmonster · 06/08/2015 17:36

bananafish that really cheered me up after the day I've had!

rosebud 26, 19 months, none yet, still waiting to see fertility consultant - or is there something I should be aware of that I could be taking already?

PontyGirl · 06/08/2015 17:37

battenberg I had antenatal depression too. you're not ungrateful at all. mine stemmed from being so sure I wouldn't conceive, to then thinking something would go wrong in the pregnancy every single day. It was overwhelming and I think I kind of ruined my pregnancy for me and DH. It's just what can happen I guess!

VixxFace · 06/08/2015 18:07

Pontygirl I have a pre ivf appointment booked for September so I'm guessing that's the next step.

Not even going to bother with iui it has such a low success rate and is expensive!

bananafish81 · 06/08/2015 18:32

Vixxface massive hugs and keeping fx for you

I think you're absolutely right about iui. When I asked my consultant about it he said he rarely if ever recommended it. Said there wasn't really any difference in success rate of iui vs timed intercourse.

Whereas he said PCOS women who were Clomid resistant usually did very well on ivf. Thinking of you xx

VixxFace · 06/08/2015 18:57

Thank you

RoseBud2015 · 06/08/2015 19:01

Vixx I know only too well how you are feeling! So sorry! Are you going to try 150mg? I figured there was no harm trying it! X
