Hey banana, how many days of this light bleed have you had? I was on the pill until Jan and my af has been light spotting 2 days, one day normal to medium bleed, one day light, one day spotting. Not sure that helps but just my experience. I definitely have a lighter af now than pre pill.

bananafish81 · 19/07/2015 22:52

Hi Dollface hope you had a fantastic holiday! Well, I’ve had spotting since Fri evening, and was getting a bit concerned that was all I was gonna get, as seemed to be getting lighter. Am hoping things might be going in the other direction now - consultant said for Day 3 bloods that I should count Day 1 as the first day of proper red flow (sorry for being so indelicate). He said if I didn’t get a period that we’d do the bloods anyway, but was hoping I would get a proper AF as that would mean I had ovulated! I think I may be able to count tomorrow as CD1, but will see…

Thanks for sharing how you find it post-pill, thats v good to know. Will see how I get on! I’ve never had anything other than light bleeds, so will see what happens…was really glad when Tampax started making the purple ‘light’ ones, as the regular yellow ones were always too much for anything other than the first day. And I really can’t stand the thought of going back to sanitary towels (and a Mooncup even less!)

Fx I can go and get my bloods on Weds…I’m crapping it that my FSH will be through the roof and my AMH and E2 non existant, suggesting I’m heading towards premature ovarian failure. DH is adamant that the effect of the pill is MUCH more likely, so I’m really hoping he’s right.

Dollface136 · 20/07/2015 08:20

Fx for you banana. My GP said our flow can get lighter as we get older and it is nothing to worry about so I have ever faith you will be fine.

I am waiting in town to see my Gp for my day 21 blood results now. So nervous. I know it's silly but I've started to feel like pregnancy will just not happen for me. I can't imagine it for some reason.

My holiday was great apart from my SIL professing how hard it is being a mum ever five mins (while laying on a sun lounger) haha. I was very close to just offering to take her kids off her if it was that bad and solving my desire to be a parent in one go haha.

mistletoeprickles · 20/07/2015 11:23

I have no pill advice unfortunately, although I did take it before ttc I hadn't had a period in over 12months.

chandelier any news?
ab how was the scan?

chandelierswinger · 20/07/2015 15:14

Hello all, thank you so much for your kind thoughts of me. Flowers It's been a long weekend. If you're feeling a little low/anxious, don't read on... This comes with a TMI warning.

I've just been discharged from hospital after having a complete miscarriage. I was admitted due to a 3rd day of heavy bleeding, passing large clots and severe pain, when an ectopic was queried. My HCG levels were fairly low for the (possible) gestation (89), although progesterone was good, so it's now a question of waiting to see what the repeat bloods show up. In my mind, I know it's all over, so I will be amazed if there's any increase. They don't really know what is/was causing the pain- it doesn't appear that the pregnancy is/was ectopic- but they saw my lovely "strings of pearls" ovaries on the trans/v scan.

I am going home now to rest and review, obviously whilst awaiting those bloods to confirm. I'm sorry I haven't read all the recent posts but I promise to catch up when my head's in the right place again. Xx

mistletoeprickles · 20/07/2015 15:43

Oh chandelier what a shit time you've had Thanks I'm sorry.

After my chemical (I know it's different but bare with me) I had to have the mind set of I got this close, I can do it again. It was the only thing that stopped me falling apart and taking to my bed. It's now been 5 weeks and I'm ok and accepting of it.

Hope your ok Thanks Thanks Thanks

Freddiesmother · 20/07/2015 22:32

Chandelier such sad news. Thinking of you. It's going to be a really tough few weeks. Thanks

I have a question about metformin .... Do you keep taking it after you have had ovulation injection? (sorry I don't know what it's called). Or do you stop taking it? Had scan today and one follical big enough yay! Now it's on to loads of sex and pessarys! So glam!

Dollface136 · 21/07/2015 08:49

Hi IsIt. Yes I did. My SHBG levels are abnormal (153.0 nmol/L) but everything else was normal.

Based on the advice from you ladies I had switched to a new GP and he was amazing! He diagnosed lean PCOS straight away and really knew his stuff. He has put me on metformin and told me to get inositol 4g per day as well as he has had success with this. He said if I give that a go for 2 months and still don't have any results he will refer me for chlomid. I feel so relieved to have a GP who is proactive AND explained everything to me clearly. He totally contradicted the last GP who said I needed a second scan to diagnose PCOS (and that I was boarderline, I am not!) He said the second scan next week is because I had a larger cyst on my left ovary and they want to make sure it isn't growning/going to rupture at all.

Anyway, my new medical stats are:
**Soy Isoflavins days 2-6
**Metformin 500mg tablets twice a day
**Inositol 4g per day

I am in my 2ww at the moment 6DPO. No symptoms besides mild cramping and creamy cm.

Freddiesmother I was told by my GP to keep taking metformin until I get my BFP then see him for further advice as there is some info to suggest metformin reduces mc risks in pcos women.

ShortyK · 21/07/2015 12:27

FlowersFlowersFlowers Thinking of you chandelier.

chandelierswinger · 21/07/2015 13:33

You lot are just amazing. Star THANK YOU Flowers xxx

This is one roller-coaster just keeps on going...

My pain has gone, the bleeding pretty much stopped and I slept much better last night as I was not being kept awake by confused and ill old ladies on a ward!. I went for my bloods this morning and do not believe what I am about to type. My HCG level is now 239 and my progesterone increased to 35 Shock I have been booked in for another scan next Tuesday... I am so confused and cannot stop crying. And I can't even have a large glass of Wine now! What the hell is happening?!

bananafish81 · 21/07/2015 13:51

Oh my goodness chandelier - keeping all fingers and toes crossed for you xxx

Freddiesmother · 21/07/2015 15:18

PopcornPip · 21/07/2015 21:45

Evening ladies, hope you are all well. I've been awol for a bit Blush
Thanks shorty - doggy feeling much better now.
Congrats ab, I had to go all the way back to page 6 to find your good news. That's bloody brilliant and what a picture! You should definitely stick around and keep us updated Smile

battenberg123 · 21/07/2015 22:13

A lot of us on metformin now! I was hoping that it would work super quick haha but I feel like it's not going to happen this month. Already got symptoms of AF and it's not due for another 12 days!

Does anyone think a hsg is worth paying for privately? I'm so impatient and my gynae won't do it until Oct/Nov which just feels like ages away Sad

ShortyK · 21/07/2015 22:48

Battenburg Obviously check the cost and see if you're happy with it but I would say just go for it. Not only could it help speed things along if they do find something but I've read things about people falling pregnant straight away afterwards because it clears the tubes out (I'm sure there's a lot more to it than that and not sure about statistical evidence etc.) and I'm sure I had a chemical pregnancy after I had mine. After 20 months of ttc it gave me new hope that I could actually conceive. Oct/Nov is a long time to wait. What reason did your gynae give for waiting? Could you try pushing for it to happen sooner?

ShortyK · 21/07/2015 22:57

Oops. Sorry about the lack of paragraphs!

I guess I'm technically on my tww after 1st cycle of clomid. Didn't get a +opk at all so went for another scan this morning and the nurse said it looked like I had ovulated so fingers crossed. Went for a 21 day blood test (even though I'm cd 24) so should know for sure in a couple of days.

Hope everyone is well. I skipped a few pages so will catch up properly tomorrow.

Rufus200 · 21/07/2015 23:06

chandelier I had a gut feeling that you were still pregnant before you posted about your HCG increasing. I really hope it goes well for you, there are many stories out there of women having heavy bleeding and bean stays in there so fingers crossed for you xxx

mistletoeprickles · 22/07/2015 09:22

chandelier that's good news but I'm not surprised your confused Thanks

So I start a new job next week, it isn't ideal but a move I had to make. I also can't help but think that'll ill be so busy ttc will be the last thing I think off and therefore will fall pregnant but we'll see.
I also hit reality a bit yesterday when I realised we are now 10months into ttc Confused but I have to ration that with the fact I've only ovulated twice in those 10 months.

I'm not sure whose taking clomid now but just wondered about side affects? I've been ok but so bloody lethargic, it's driving me nuts!
