HSG Procedure

If anyone is worried about this I just wanted to share my experience. I had one today as it was as positive as it can be. I was worried sick, dreading a male doctor above anything (I know this doesn't worry some people too much but I was seriously stressed by it, to the point of tears) however the nurses and doctors made it so much easier for me.

The process itself is obviously not pleasant but I had 2 painkillers 40 minutes before the procedure and did not feel anything more than the usual discomfort after a smear. The 'ink' is actually clear (you imagine all sorts when you're a 'novice') and the images on the screen are interesting to watch so it really takes your mind off.

Despite it being what I would describe as an undignified procedure, I believe the hospital staff will make you feel at ease and will be understanding.

Good luck to anyone having to go for one in the near future. Honestly it is not so bad.

Mine was the worst pain I've ever felt. I usually have a high pain threshold.
