TTC after MC at 5 weeks

Have joined the ttc after mc thread. But really just wanted to ask if anyone has or is ttc straight after mc without waiting for AF?

MC last week at 5 weeks, dh and I very keen to try again. Had negative test today and bleeding stop yesterday. Consultant happy that everything has passed but didn't scan. Midwife advised to wait until after AF so I'd know I was ovulating.

Hiya dobby, sorry to see you had a mc, its awful and such a rollercoaster of emotions. I had a mc about a week ago at 6+2 Sad same as you tho, the bleeding has stopped, negative test and we're straight back to it! Blush
I think the only reason they like you to wait until AF is to date any new pregnancy, but I'm far too impatient Grin

Sorry for your loss wlrg. We definatly had an emotional rollercoaster of a week last week.

Although I'm dissapointed by the loss, really want to get back to it. Paticually with all the steamy dreams the last few nights have brought.

Also would really like the reassurance of an early scan if it did happen quickly again for us. Hope it happens quickly for you.

I was 6+2 when I had a MC starting May 13th. The scan showed development stopped about 5 wks. I bled for 10 days and my hormone levels (blood tests at the EPU) were back to normal by the time the bleeding stopped.

We've started straight away and I've used OPKs for ovulation dating.

My local EPU were brilliant and they've promised regular blood tests to check on hormone increases and an early scan next time

I was very upset for a couple of days (the culmination of a truly shitty few weeks) but hadn't felt confident that it was ok for a few days so I think I knew which made it easier.

Thank you for shairing carrot. I'm sorry for your loss but good to hear your epu are so kind.

I think I knew something wasn't right. Although starting to bleed was deverstating, verging on me having a panic attack. I wasn't ever in any pain and after the first two very teary days I think I accepted that I'd misscarrried and was more scared about potentially still being pregnant with more to come. My epu were fantastic too. I was adviced to wait a week from initial bleeding before going in, but had a phone call every day to check how I was doing and see if I wanted to come sooner. Had someone on the phone again this afternoon to see if I wanted to go over anything

Lovely dd joining in with posting!

The midwife I saw said she's also going to call back in a couple of weeks to check in.

I actually felt like something wasn't right from the start, I struggled to get excited and the people that we had told kept telling me to relax and be excited but I just couldnt Confused

Glad to hear the epu's have been good, my a &e took bloods after I started bleeding and phoned with the results but that was it, even after I phoned the epu to cancel the early scan I had booked (due to spotting previous to the mc) iv had no contact with anyone so I'm assuming that they are assuming because the bleeding has stopped everything had passed?! Confused

And thank you dobby I hope it happens quickly for you too, although I'm obviously anxious to be pregnant again I'm not sure how i will deal with the anxiety of knowing it could happen again Sad
