Period on wedding day - disaster?

Hi all - I'm a newbie but have been lurking a while Wink

DP and I want to TTC straight after our wedding, preferably the night of, but I have just worked out that my period is due smack bang on my wedding day

I've never properly monitored my periods, only started in the last two months or so because of TTC in the near future and wanted to know roughly when ovulation would be.

So, my question is: is there anything I can take to delay my period? I know you can just keep taking the pill through your 'break' days but I'm not on the pill - haven't been for a year now

And, if I take something/the pill to delay the wedding-period, will it screw up hormones etc... making it harder for us to conceive until my hormones have settled down again?

Any experience of this?

I think it depends on the style of dress - friend recently got married and she had lovely soft floaty fabric which flowed out from just under the bust - she could have worn massive pants underneath with sanitary pads in with no danger of being visible at all
My dress is very tight fitting so will need spanx rather than normal knickers - reckon mooncup might be the way to go :-)
Thanks all for the helpful replies!
