Is this a positive OPK?

I have PCOS so always get low level LH when using these, but I'm on clomid this month and have just peed on this and got the darkest line I've ever got. Is this dark enough to be classed as positive? Or is it still on its way? The control line is the one nearest the pink (who am I kidding, we all know what these things look like!!).

Thanks!

I'd say it's on its way to positive!! Do another at tea time

autonomousplum · 20/05/2015 14:43

Ditto. I'd say it will pick up the surge around 8pm. Congratulations- it's always good news when a medicine works! :)

AbFab86 · 20/05/2015 14:58

Ooh exciting! I'm actually 3hrs ahead here, so it's currently 6pm. Will do another test before bed to see the difference. DTD just in case Grin I've been trying not to get my hopes up about the clomid working on the first go. Eeek Grin

ab were almost in sync. I had my positive opk yesterday. :) I have a rubbish luteal phase though but will be taking progesterone as soon as ff confirms ovulation so hoping it will help! :) yay for clomid/prog!

AbFab86 · 20/05/2015 15:26

How exciting! It's good you've been able to identify you have a short luteal phase. Hopefully the progesterone will work for you Smile

Hi ab did you test again later on? Was it a positive?

This one looks on its way to me too!
I get so crazy excited about getting a positive opk. Only ever had 1 (last month) and hoping for another tomorrow or Friday...
Good luck to you!

AbFab86 · 21/05/2015 06:11

I tested before bed and it was negative again Hmm And in the middle of the night (no need). Was negative again this morning but I know LH is supposed to increase as the day goes on so I've brought some sticks and a pot with me to work Grin

I'm not too worried at the moment. I'm actually only CD9 so still early but it was a surprise to get such a dark line yesterday. I've got my follicle scan this afternoon so that should shed some light on it. Good job I have a cupboard full of the sticks!

Don't get too disheartened! That is still quite early for a + opk I think!
Also, everyone is different, a lot of people say they get more than 1 + and will get a + throughout the day or even for a couple of days. This has never been the case for me, I only get a + after being dehydrated with fmu.
Just tested this morning and had my 2nd ever + opk CD14. Exciting times! Need to wake up DP!
Hope your scan goes well!
How long have you been ttc?
Is it your 1st month on clomid?
Good luck today Flowers

Exciting about your positive OPK!

My scan was pretty atrocious. Have posted about it on the TTC with PCOS thread. Inconclusive results and horrible doctor, but seeing a new one on Saturday Smile I've been TTC since January but haven't ovulated in god knows how long. This has been my first cycle on clomid so still early days. How about you?

Hi

Just read about your scan, sorry it was so quick. I had a similar experience when I had my hycosy. He said nothing about what he was looking at, it lasted all of about 5 minutes. As he was rushing out of the room I asked him "what next?" he said "you have a follicle there so I'm sure you'll get pregnant this month, It all looks fine". I asked "what about the fact that I'm not ovulating, this won't help me ovulate will it?" his response "oh, no, I'll see you in 3 months and we will prescribe you clomid". It was only after reading about follicles that I realised they had a "size" and people often had "more than 1". Long story short that was back in march, Saw him again early may (after taking soy in april as I had read it can help ovulating) and silly me told him, he sent me away for another 3 months to just keep trying and to come back after 3 months of not ovulating. I asked him about this follicle and how big it was when he did my scan and was it unusual that there was only 1, he changed his mind about there actually being one there then and said "I never said I saw a follicle, I said it looked like one could form" ???? So clearly I made it all up...

Anyway rant over - this was NHS not private.

Luckily enough this month I did actually ovulate or at least the opk said I was due to all on my own so in a way am quite pleased he sent me away. Not as pleased as dp who I had informed we would be paying for private treatment Shock

Age 33
Month 20ttc
Was on depo for 10+ years which took its toll
9 months for AF to reappear
19 months to ovulate
Ovulated twice now Grin

Fingers crossed this is my BFP month!!

Hope your sat appointment goes well, will they scan you again? I read back on that pcos thread about someone saying you get another go (after the 6) if you don't ovulate, do you think they will let you have another month (hopefully of course you wont need it) if they don't prove you ovulate?

Good luck with it all! Hope your Saturday doctor is better that today's....

AbFab86 · 22/05/2015 07:45

Wow what a horrible experience to have at a hycosy! It makes me wonder what the hell happens to people who actually don't know much about the whole process, who haven't read up on the processes etc. Are they just left to wonder?

Very glad you've been able to ovulate by yourself! That must be great knowing things are working Smile It's only a matter of time now before you get your BFP.

Im hopeful that this new doctor will be a lot better and he'll be able to arrange a scan at a slightly more appropriate date than day 9. Having 100+ day cycles makes me think it's just a little bit unlikely that I've suddenly snapped into a 28 day cycle after one cycle of clomid! I haven't been told yet how many cycles I'll be allowed, but I imagine it'll be 6-9. Having only had 1 so far, I'm not too worried just yet. Onwards and upwards!

ab how did your appointment go yesterday?

AbFab86 · 24/05/2015 18:28

Pretty well, thanks for asking! He was really black and white. Said he didn't do scans to check for follicle growth, he relied on day 21 tests. I'm having a day 21 test and he will increase my clomid if it hasn't worked. I'm also booked in for a HSG on 21st June and DH has to go give a sample for semen analysis. If our tests come back ok and we don't conceive after 3 cycles of clomid we will go for IUI. Bish bash bosh! But obviously hoping none of that is necessary and we conceive this cycle. One can dream, eh?

When are you expecting your BFP?

OP posts:
Vap0 · 24/05/2015 20:26

I'm hoping I'll get a bfp Thursday 4th June although not holding my breath.
Not sure if I mentioned that the doc wouldn't give me clomid yet and sent me away for yet another 3 months so hoping that things happen without help and if not I'm booked in again in July when hopefully they'll do something other than send me away again telling me to "just keep trying".

Good to have a Dr like that, at least you know where you stand! And you have some timescales in there also! That must be good to know. So hopefully you should get your bfp this year?!

AbFab86 · 25/05/2015 08:45

I very much hope so! The absolute ideal would be a July BFP, but we will see. We're going to Paris for our first wedding anniversary in July so if I'm not pregnant I'll be downing wine and cheese like it's going out of fashion Grin

I'm crossing everything for you on 4th June! Yes I think you mentioned either on here or another thread about being sent away. Was it because you tried soy? I'm thinking next time someone, doctor or not, says to 'just keep trying' I'm going to 'just keep trying' right there, in front of them, and ask them what it is we're doing wrong Grin Just keep trying indeed. What the hell do they think we're doing?!
