Is anyone here TTC with an older partner

My DP is 49, (very very nearly 50) and I am 29. We have no children together, I have a 10yo and his DC are grown up.

We've been umming and ahhing over whether to TTC, but we are being held back by worries we have over his age, the future, whether the child would be teased at school, I think every potential scenario has crossed my mind by now. We aren't well-off with pots of savings, just a normal working couple.

Would be good if anyone here has taken the plunge to offer some insight!

My DH was (is) 43 when we had our now 9week old baby. I'm 31. I think kids will get teased about a hundred different things and wouldn't let age of your DP stop you.

Good luck!

My Dad was 40 when I was born and 53 when my brother was born. TBH it did used to bother me when I was little that he was so much older than the other Dads, but no one ever teased me for it (he looks way younger which helps). I do worry about my brother being younger when he dies. Brother is 13 now and Dad is 65.

Not to put you off, just giving my experience.
