hi girls

im hoping some of you expert charters might be able to help me. this is my first month charting after my miscarriage at ten weeks in February. ill explain (briefly!) my experience this month...
I got a positive opk (smiley cbd) on cd 12. as I had no other ov symptoms ii carried on testing and got another positive on cd17. since that one was accompanied by quite bad cramping I assumed that was actually ov and my temp would rise afterwards. however, my temp in fact dipped for one day and FF is saying that it thinks I ovulated on cd13. I cant work out whether that is supported by my temp and im worrying that im either not ovulating at all or something funny is happening with my hormones after my miscarriage.
id be so grateful if anyone would take a quick look at my chart and let me know if they think I am ovulating and if so, when they think it happened?? im going to try and include a link to my chart below but let me know if it doesn't work!!

thank you so much xx

Sorry for your loss. I will try to help

If this is your first month of temping, then it is very difficult to know what your pre and post ov temps normally are.

Your temps are fluctuating greatly to, do you know the reasons for this? Are you temping at different times?

One temp missing after the 13 th in the Saturday is probably affecting the ff analysis, as I would have put of at 15th or not happened yet.

Regarding ovulation after miscarriage, this can be greatly delayed. Up to 5 weeks is not uncommon. Especially considering that you miscarried at 10 weeks rather than earlier. It would take some time for the hcg to leave your body and this has to be fairly low or 0 before ovulation would occur. Do you know when your pregnancy tests went to negative?

Thank you so much for replying.

This is my third cycle post miscarriage but my first temping - I was worried I wasn't ovulating as my opk tests were all over the place so thought id give it a go to check. I can't work out from the chart if I have ovulated or not. I've been trying to take my temps at the same time but often wake up an hour or so before my alarm and take them then instead so that might be affecting the range. I'll just keep going and next month maybe I'll set my alarm earlier, take them and then go back to sleep to see if that makes them more regular. I'm just getting myself panicky that something's going wrong but as you say I should give it a few months before worrying. And relax......thanks very much again, I really appreciate it.

It looks like you ovulated to me.

On a side note are you temping orally because that can sometimes give an unclear pattern. I temped orally for a few months and my temps were all over the place so I switched to vaginal (totally easy, didn't find it gross at all) and saw a much clearer pattern.

Hi upduffed and thank you for replying. Yes I'm temping orally. I did have a slight cold at the start of my cycle which might have contributed to the fluctuations maybe. I'm so pleased that you think I've ovulated though. My boobs have started to get sore (sorry tmi!) which is the first time it has happened since the MC and I hoping that's a good sign too as I used to get that every month before. I'll maybe try temping vaginally next month and see if that helps too.

Thanks again :-)

Defo try temping vaginally as temps fluctuate wildly orally. When I temped vaginally the pattern of O was completely unmistakeable, so no ambiguity. Have stopped temping now as am preggers, so worked for me!

Good luck OP :)
