I should be ovulating on Monday but does this already look positive?
Thanks!

Nearly positive I'd say. Do another test later this afternoon in case. Remember that you may ovulate anytime between 12-48 after the lh surge (which is what the opk detects), most likely between 18-36 hours after the surge.

For me (an old bird) that would be a positive. I have seen lots of positive tests online where the test line is darker than the control line but I have never produced that sort of test myself.

Thanks - this has just happened so definitely positive now.
Rats. I could have done with being another couple of days!

2nd one is a great positive!
Fantastic!
Why do you want the delay? Is DP not about?
Really hoping I get one of those next week

It's highly complicated but basically we have booked to go abroad in the summer for donor treatment. We have to go in the summer holidays as I'm a teacher. We have to book now as the flights get full. I cannot have a medicated cycle because I suffer very bad migraines with aura if I take the pill. My cycle is very regular but if I now ovulate two days early every cycle from now until August we will arrive in Spain a day too late for the treatment. This is just my luck.
I'm very anxious about it and if at least this cycle was absolutely on time would have felt more confident! We booked a couple of weeks ago. We are out there for a fortnight which I hoped would give us enough leeway but I'm going to be a day too early if this carries on!

Wow! That is complicated! Can you change your flights? Is it donor sperm you are going for? I understand how difficult it is to predict these things! My last few cycles have been 30, 30, 30, 26, 28 so it does make it hard to calculate!
I hope it works out for you in the end Flowers

Pandorasaquarium8 · 16/05/2015 09:22

I don't know, maybe.
I don't really want to have a medicated cycle because the migraines caused by the pill were truly terrifying and I know if you have migraines with aura and take estrogen treatment the stroke risk is a lot higher.
I suppose I will have to wait until next month and see. My last six cycles have been exactly 28 days but this one is going to be 26. They used to be 26 days but I had fertility treatment in November and after that they were 28 days. Trust them to click back now.
If I had a couple of longer cycles and a couple of shorter ones that would level out ok! It's going to be close though.

You can have a surge and not ov. OPKs can be unpredictable bc of that. The only way to know is to temp. I seem to get a second positive opk a couple of days after first and then temp rise to show ov has happened.

There are other things the docs can give others than the combined pill. You can take progesterone only pill with migraines with aura. I'm sure there's all do something less invasive you can take to postpone your cycle. You take it on certain days of your cycle or something. I'm sure I've read about something often used so you delay your period and not get it for key events eg. Weddings. Sounds like if you could draw a cycle out for an extra few days one month then that would work.

Pandorasaquarium8 · 16/05/2015 23:28

Thank you.
I think I will go to the gp and see. Progesterone supplements might work. I just need maybe an extra two days on the next cycle and it would be ok. I haven't ovulated yet but the ovulation pain has started so I know it's imminent. If my period was just two or three days later it would be fine.
It's all incredibly stressful.
Thanks again.
