Conception

When's the best time to get pregnant? Use our interactive ovulation calculator to work out when you're most fertile and most likely to conceive.

It's staying light longer and we are taking the opportunity to get well and truly upduffed, yes that's right, three BFPs in one day! That's the May bus for you.

Carrot that only seems to be giving me a fertile period for June! (Which, clearly, I won't need Grin)

CarrotVan · 28/05/2015 16:33

Huh. Works for me if I put in back dated dates

Sarah563 · 28/05/2015 22:41

Thanks for the advice Wish, I'll keep DTD every day/ every other day. My DH has really important open university exams next Friday, so particularly stressed and not massively up for it!! Confused

DizzyMerry · 28/05/2015 23:16

Sorry AF arrived aug. Are you taking anything for your short lp? Have you seen your GP about this?

Yay for ewcm carrot and sarah. Get shagging Grin

Birchy hope the tww isn't torturous for you. I have my fx.

Carlton hope you can work out your dpo.

Night I have everything crossed for you apart from my legs as still no confirmation of ov

Pogmella · 29/05/2015 06:19

Hi all, just to say I did my test this morning (12dpo and the day I'd originally planned). Nice, clear BFP within 3 mins. If I'd managed to wait it out I would have saved myself from lot of stress and tears. So probably anyone reading this will do what I did (agree and then disregard!) but just to say that it really is worth waiting it out.

Had some light pink spotting and cramps last night which I hope is OK?

FX for Everton x

Pogmella · 29/05/2015 06:20

Augusthomotherium · 29/05/2015 10:26

dizzy yes. Progesterone.
Xpost here cos I is lazy innit.
AF is being weird. More than spotting but pinky watery on wiping or brown bits on a light pad. I'm wondering if the progesterone I'm taking for the short lp is somehow working at keeping things a bit more intact? Hmm I am in no way considering if this would be intact enough to support an embryo. Not at all. Thought hadn't even crossed my mind. This is my first month on it and AF came same time as last cycle yesterday so I'm pretty sure it is AF proper. but because it hasn't come on full yet I'm hoping that the prog is working a bit?

Augusthomotherium · 29/05/2015 10:28

pog could your spotting be delayed implantation bleeding?

wishiwaspregnant · 29/05/2015 11:38

Do any if you use opk? I have a pack of 5 from the pound shop to try this month for the first time... When should I start using them? I ov'd in cd18 last cycle and today is cd12. Should I wait until cd14? I've also read on my pack not to use fmu as it tell me to use midday / afternoon urine... DH is away until Sunday. I'm hoping I hold out my OV until after he is back. Then we have 5 days to dtd everyday until I go on my girls holiday! Eek!!!!

DizzyMerry · 29/05/2015 11:44

Congrats again pog.

Aug It does seem like it is doing something and hopefully it is working on sorting the issue out.

Wish I would start at day 14 if you ovulate so late.

FF thinks I ov on cd11 but I'm not convinced at all.

Hairstylisttoboris · 29/05/2015 12:02

Morning all. Sorry for not posting for ages. I've been hanging out more on the bumsnet thread. Came over here to see what news there is.

dizzyN wherefore art thou? You ok?

My stats are wrong, sorry if I forgot to update

Stats

Hairstylisttoboris, 37 ttc 1, cycle stopped counting, BFP due 9th June

Off to catch up, lovely to see so many new names :)

Augusthomotherium · 29/05/2015 14:03

wish if you can afford to double up I would. If you iced in cd18 and your cycles are quite regular I would start like dizzy said on cd14. Try around 2pm. As soon as the line is getting darkish I would go twice a day as you can sometimes miss the surge as some people show very short surges. I would do 11am/12pm and then again at around 7pm. I've had near-positives and then positives within the 12hr period and then it already lowered by the next 12 hours. If I tested in 24hr slots I would have missed the surge and presumed that I was still waiting while it had actually already come and gone. Of course you'll usually only ov 12-48 hours (usually 18-36hrs) after the surge anyway, so it is salvageable, but I think it is great feeling sure you caught it at its peak. Grin

Augusthomotherium · 29/05/2015 14:04

auto I hope so- a bit more today but only on the tissue and v light brown. Mushroom mist would be the dulux name for what I'm seeing.

Just had my GP apt and he scared the hell out of me. Despite the NHS website listing this kind of thing as common in the first few sentences, he told me to prepare myself that miscarriage was v. Common if there was fresh red bleeding, and then gave me details about the epu just in case. Mostly it was his demeanour 'women oftn find this upsetting' No shit, pal!

I know this is common and 'm not counting my chickens just yet, but I feel like I went in describing a strained ankle and he casually mentioned amputation...

Southy84 · 29/05/2015 19:02

Nice to see you boris and dizzyn glad you are still about :) although the hoping your journeys won't be much longer.

I had my day 21 bloods today, I voiced my concerns to the nurse about normally having a longer cycle and that I'm convinced my day 21 needs to in fact be tues next week, she told me to sneakily book another blood test and convince the Dr on the phone on Monday to give me another blood test form...
So so hoping they listen as I don't want to have to wait another month to do this again!

Still no clue as to whether I've OV yet, my Rocky Mountain range is still very rocky :-/ and I think I've had Ewcm but not sure. I'm going to blame my temping issues on the thermometer of course.

pog I hope everything's ok, some Drs aren't very tatcful with how they say things are they, but I know at least two people who have had early spotting and went on to have healthy pregnancies so try to relax as much as possible (know that's easy to say) x

Have you tested at all august?

How are you doing merry? Hope you're ok
