Problems after copper coil removal - anyone go through anything similar?!

Hello everyone :-)
After having my first baby I had the copper coil inserted for contraception. Me and my partner have decided to try for another baby (19 months later) and I had my coil removed roughly the day my period was due, but I wasn't 100% as while I had the coil in my periods were always coming early but I felt the period cramps and thought if I had it removed that day, bled and then we could start trying straight away. My period didn't arrive for another 12 days. This was on April the 10th. It is now May 15th and me and my partner have been trying every other night to conceive. I haven't had a period since the 10th April but pregnancy tests are saying negative. I have taken a clearblue on the 11th May and a cheap test from Ebay every day for a week. All negative. I also had some cheap ovulation tests and they showed negative every day from April 10th until now. I am so confused. My body doesn't feel like my own and it is getting me down. Has anyone gone through anything like this? It is awful not knowing what is going on and my hormones are all over the place. The coil was the worst decision I ever made :-(

Hi steffy, sorry to hear this is happening for you! How long were your cycles before you had the coil removed? When I had mine removed AF was a week late but normal after that so don't despair! Remember that the pill and most forms of contraception impact on fertility immediately after stopping, the copper coil will actually have one of the least impact so I would expect that once AF arrives your cycles go back to normal.
