PMT symptoms but no period

I posted a few days ago in general health but didn't get any responses so thought I might be better trying here.
We're TTC our second and I'm still breastfeeding our 18 month old.
My periods came back at 5 months and the lengths have varied from 21-30 days. Apart from the last cycle which was 36 days. I tend to have one shorter cycle then one longer one.

However I'm now on CD44 and have had PMT symptoms (emotional and ragey) and quite painful cramping for nearly two weeks. I had a spot of bright red blood 10 days ago but nothing since then. I've done several tests and I'm not pregnant. Anyone know what could be going on?

Hey magpie, I'm no expert but didn't want to read and run. Sounds to me like your possibly not ovulating every cycle, could you try tracking your temperature one month to check? Xx

Thanks for your reply sammy! I've just picked up another bbt thermometer and started tracking my temps again (I did it last time we were TTC). It's just the cramps and PMT without any period for the last couple of weeks that are bothering/worrying me.

You're almost certainly right about me not always ovulating though. I needed clomid to conceive my DS but my cycles were much longer before he was born (at least 60 days, usually longer).

Maybe it's just your hormones trying to settle, but the bfing is making it harder. I don't know, I think it's a question for your doctor. No harm in putting your mind at ease, one of the things the nhs is for Smile Xx

I'll try to get an appointment next week, always a bit of a struggle to get one unless they think it's an emergency!
